Had a great time on this site. Lovely quiet family site, owners very friendly and helpful, nice new toilet and dish washing block. This site is being well maintained and Alan & Pat are improving the site all the time. Would recommend this site to anyone who likes a nice peaceful trouble free site were you are made very welcome, feel secure and and as soon as you arrive are made to feel at home. Will definitely return again.

Pat and Alan who run this lovely countryside site must be some of the most welcoming people around. They are investing a great deal of money in Cartref campsite and it shows as their new shower and toilet block is very clean, modern and use of the hot water showers is included in the price of your site fees. It is maintained extremely well and this is one of the reasons we have visited several times this summer.
The site itself is located as I say in the countryside and is a pleasure to be in such surroundings, especially during long summer evenings. You can take a walk along the lanes which border the Shropshire fields or visit a pub nearby for food. The location is ideal for visiting nearby Shrewsbury and other Shropshire attractions. The nearest pub is a couple of miles away so you'll probably need to drive, but myself and my wife take it in turns as the 'nominated driver'. All in all, a good campsite to visit.

Having read the previous postings we thought this site might be too good to be true. It wasn't! A lovely clean, well kept site with owners Alan and Pat on hand to offer help and advice wherever necessary. I felt like we had made new friends when we left. Toilets were spotless with private wash cubicles available and nice roomy showers. We even had fresh flowers in the ladies! As previously mentioned the hot water was free and what a boon that is these days. A word of warning. If you have a large tent, as we do, then please let owners know when you book. It is only a small site and care is taken not to overcrowd anyone. Ball games are only allowed in the neighbouring field so no noisy disruption to the peace of the countryside. We will be back.

Had a fabulous weekend at this small site. Would highly recommend as a peaceful family site. Immaculate new toilet block with plenty of free hot water. Showers and toilets were cleaned regularly. No site shop but did have a small play area for the children and large field for ball games. Site owners were lovely - we will be back.

We have been to many sites this past year but this must come to the top of the list. Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely situation within easy reach of local attractions. Facilities spotless. Will be even better with the new amenities block ( currently under construction ). Really looking forward to going back and meeting Pat and Alan again, highly recommended

A lovely site for a meet or for a quiet family break with playgroung for kids & big field for dog walking/games. spotless facs, no shop but big co op only 3 miles away & small service shop even nearer. Alan & Pat (site owners) couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, thank you.

What a lovely site, nothing too much trouble for the owners Pat & Alan - even put the weather forecast up daily and a list of possible outings/trips. Lovely clean facilities, small cosy site, 2 ladies showers,3 loos (same no. for gents)washingup room/laundry. Information hut. We were all issued with a key on arrival to lock the gate at night etc so nice & safe. 5min drive to big co-op with BBQ stuff, cashpoint, fish&chip shop etc and beside park&ride for Shrewsbury. Big separate field for ballgames which the kids loved and small play area with seesaw/swings.Plenty of bins, water points, fire point and recycling facilities too.... will definitely be back. Handy for Shrewsbury, Telford, Welshpool, Ironbridge, Church Stretton so lots to do within an hour or less.
