We found this site by accident last year and thought we would return for a holiday.
Very friendly staff with a great shop. And a pub next door. They charged lots of our stuff for us, the sign says phones and laptops only so just ask.
Our pitch was huge in one corner and we got the sun most of the day.
Showers etc excellent with lovely heated floors very welcome as weather was a bit hit and miss. We had our grandkids with us so the family bathroom was a bonus.
Only downside and it might not be a downside to some but it attracts the chelsea tractor brigade at the weekend. Sorry!
So bearing this in mind we would only camp again midweek, but that is our preference only.

Stayed at the Red Shoot the last weekend in June 2011 with another family. Great location, great pitch, great facilities and a great little shop with cheerful staff.
The visitors this weekend were predominantly families but the site is very family friendly and very safe so everybody was relaxed and the atmosphere was very relaxed especially on Saturday afternoon when the sun came out followed quickly by the beers & wine !
The Great British weather left us with a wet Friday/Saturday morning and then a glorious Saturday pm/Sunday but the pitch drained very well.
We liked it so much we are returning again at the end of July !

We were in a vw campervan, but caravans, tents and motorhome were there. Ill start with the good. Only stayed one night but what a lovely little site.
From the moment we arrived, the lady on the bookin desk was helpful and curtious. We had no pre booking, just turned up. Booked in, shown to various pitches to choose from. She showed us the aminaties and left us to it. Flat pitches, and well mown grass with gravel roads around.
Right, toilet and showers. Spotless, 6 or 7 showers in each and 7 or 8 toilets with urinals in mens. Pay hair dryers. A family shower/toilet and a disabled room/toilet.
Pot washing sinks and chem toilet disposol and ample rubbish dumping area. Small kids play area and a well stocked shop open from 9-7. And a great pub, right outside on the doorstep. Its a micro brewery pub, so lots of real ales and ciders. We were there for the weekly quiz night, but music and beer festivals are advertised. Great food and wines, and the red shoot breweries own beers and wadworths beers, and again so friendly. The food menu changes through the day, but something available 12-9.
Horses and donkies from the new forest come right up 2 the pub, but are stopped from entering the site by a cattle grid. Numerous walkes into the forest and 2 more pubs within 2 miles approx.
The bad. None really. Its great and we will return. Check it out, quiet and friendly and a great pub on the doorstep. That's all ya need aint it.

This is a lovely site in a very nice location. Most pitches appear to be pretty flat. We were allocated pitch D4 which appeared to be one of the only pitches on the site that had the morning sunshine blocked out by a massive Oak tree every morning until about 11am - next time I'm just going to request any pitch but D4!
The toilet and shower block is of a very high standard and always clean. The shop on site is very well stocked and the pub next door is reasonably priced and does very nice food!
We liked this site in particular as it is in a great location for walks with the dog (straight out of the site) and yet still has a cattle grid to keep out the horses (which would wind up my dog!).
Only negative is that it can be a little pricey at £25 a night in peak season but I guess you have to pay for the quality and location!
Looking to go back in September.

Visited for the first time a few weeks ago. Met by very friendly staff and shown our pitch. Level with EHU in the centre of the site. Wash block spotless and fantastic hot FREE showers. The washing up area was also kept spotless even with a large group of school kids staying.
The shop was well stocked and offered advice on walks and trips out. Fantastic for dogs walks direct from the site, you can go as far as you want. Told of an excellent walk to a local pub, took about an hour and a half, and enjoyed beer served from the barrel on the bar and dressed crab.
The pub next door to the site is very good. It has it's own beer and is very dog and horse friendly, only the dogs are allowed in the bar and eating area though.
Well worth a visit.

We came down to this site for our Honeymoon! A truly last minute booking. We booked on the Tuesday and arrived on the Wednesday. We had a great pitch towards the bottom of the site against a nice large hedgerow and enjoyed every second (the weather helped)
The Facilities on site were very good and I can say that the family showers are a massive bonus.
The site felt very safe for the kids and the park was kitted out nicely. The shop was well stocked and even did some very nice meats if you are short of food. There is a pub on site but we did not visit so cannot comment however there are some others that are within walking distance that are very nice indeed. The local shops are a drive away but if you are used to 24hr shops forget it!
The new forest is gorgeous and well worth walking/driving around just to take it in but take notice of the signs.Within 2 mins of entering the park I had to avoid a flock of sheep on a blind bend.
We will be going back to this site in the future.

We have just returned from our first visit to this site. A wonderful friendly site. Very clean facilities and staff were great on arrival when we asked to change our pitch (We were a bit concerned about stones under the ground sheet).
The toilet and showers were very clean.
The shop is there for those last minute things that you need and yes they do add to the normal price (they are running a business after all).
We look forward to returning soon and lest we forget it is in the middle of the beatiful New Forest.

We have just spent 4 nights at Red Shoot Camping Park, and it was fantastic. We did have the benefit of hot sunshine for the entire trip, however, that aside it is an excellent campsite.
It is located right in the heart of the New Forest, quiet, accessible and a great location for exploring. It is close to Ringwood with access to Bournemouth, Poole etc, but far enough away to feel relaxed and serene. Directly outside the campsite are tracks that you can walk straight into the New Forest, there are ponies and plenty of wildlife to see. If you do want to go to a Bournemouth beach, I would advise going to Alum Chine. Just a bit further along towards Poole. It is cleaner, more relaxed and has an excellent children’s play area.
The campsite is located behind a pub, the Red Shoot Inn. This is the only pub for a few miles, has its own micro brewery and serves really good quality, reasonably priced food. It is welcoming and clearly lots of campers use it, and has good outdoor space as well as a clean and friendly indoor area. It’s a great place to enjoy a pint brewed on site, whilst watching the kids play on the rope swing!
The site itself is small, friendly, clean, spacious and well run. The pitches are a really good size, and not too close to each other. We have a an Outwell Vermont L, some say a big tent, but it fitted on the pitch well. There are strict rules stating no noise after 10.30pm, and people do stick to it. The shower block, is probably the best one I have come across. It is clean, spacious, plenty of showers and toilets, and appears to have been recently refurbished. There is underfloor heating, so even in the middle of the night, it is really warm and the floors nice and dry.
The washing up area is clean and under cover, and allows you to chat to other campers. There is a good little children’s play area, it is not too flash, but a good occasional distraction for the kids. The shop is well stocked, not too expensive, and open from 9am-7pm. They don’t freeze your own ice packs, but they do hire them out for 25p each with a £1 each deposit, so not bad.
Overall an excellent site, we will return there and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Stayed for the long Easter weekend. Great friendly site and the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, which makes a pleasant change from some sites we have visited. Beautiful views, lovely and peaceful even though the site was booked to capacity.
The shower/toilet block was always clean and we never found a queue whilst we were there. My only gripe is the disabled toilet/shower. This is an awful facility and is used by all and sundry. It does not serve people with mobility problems at all with only one hand rail for the shower and a pull down seat and the door is a sliding one (heavy wooden barn type) with only a latch over catch. You can also see and be seen if you use this converted cupboard. Luckily I had use of my onboard loo/shower and I only have slight mobility issues. Really think Red Shoot should have another look at this much needed facility.
The site is sloping and chocks are a must as well as levellers.
We did have a fantastic long weekend and I would most definitely recommend this site especially if the disabled facilities were overhauled.

We have just returned from Red Shoot and we were very impressed.
The staff were welcoming and very helpful and even made an effort by putting up a marquee for the showing and celebration of the Royal Wedding.
The on site pub is very friendly for adults, children, dogs and horses.
They brew their own ale, have a varied selection of meals and have regular entertainment laid on.
Being in the New Forest there are plenty of wild ponies and plenty of walks to enjoy. People are the main problem they seem to forget where they are at times and show their ignorance by leaving unnecessary rubbish around and by not cleaning up behind dogs when outside the site.
On site the owners ensure cleanliness and tidiness.
The shower rooms are cleaned regularly as are the toilets. The dishwashing area was adequate.
The downside is that as Motorhome users when we left to go out of the site for the day we came back and found newcomers had been placed on the pitch beside us and they decided to spread so far we were unable to sit out or use our awning.
On our last day newcomers had spread out so much we could hardly get back on our pitch and they were also very inconsiderate and played music very loud but this is probably an exception rather than a rule as no-one else was this inconsiderate all week.
The shop stocks the basics and can be a bit pricey but then it is a site shop but you are not far from shopping centres if you want to use them.
All in all a great place, we would definitely recommend it and we hope to use it again before long. Thank you for a great week Red Shoot.
