I visited this on my motorcycle and found it to be most delightful. In spite of the very wet weather, my pitch was well protected from the wind.

Easy access to Beaulieu and some wonderful roads. Liked it so much I went back with my wife and our small caravan - this time by car.

The loos and showers are immaculate and the staff very knowledgable and helpful. Fish and chip van on Tuesdays and pizzas on Thursdays.

The pub on site serves a range of standard food and some excellent beers.

The site is very quiet at night and had the beauty of dark skies and full display of stars on cloudless nights.

We used Red Shoot for a number of years. The site is great for kids and is never over crowded, with the site making good use of the space available. There's often a game of football of cricket to join in with.

There is a small kids park, but it is looking dated and could do with a little work.

The pub next to the site offers a wide range of real ales and good food at a reasonable price. They offer a beer festival in June which is always popular.

The site is only a few miles from Ringwood for a good sized local supermarket.

Great location on edge of New Forest for walking/cycling - Ringwood town centre shops, supermarket & facilities 5 mins drive.

Fairly level pitches, well spaced & plenty of room. Loos/showers always clean and this over a busy week-end when site was pretty full. Simple operating on showers and hot water.

Well stocked shop on-site with food/drinks/camping accessories and children's toys etc. Staff friendly & couldn't be more helpful. Pub at the entrance gate offering food.

Agree with a previous comment that EHU is expensive @£6-50/night but this is only gripe.

Would visit again.

Nice peaceful site with good facilities.

Site gets very busy at weekends with units being close together. Lovely and quiet during the week.

Electric hook up is expensive at £6. 50 per night and that's a 10amp not 16.

Just back from a few nights stay here and overall I was very pleased with the site although it is quite expensive

The location is brilliant and the site itself is immaculate. The bathroom and showers were spotless and frequently cleaned

The only slightly annoying thing was the pitch they put me on was quite cramped and had a massive metal drain cover in it. Below this was drain water which attracted midges. It wasn’t the end of the world but for £30 a night I expected perfection.

Well maintained small site in a beautiful setting near Ringwood New Forest.

We were in a small tent with EHU for a long weekend.

Slightly sloping pitch but nothing to worry about.

Modern and clean shower & loo block.

Good washing up area with built in drainer which was handy.

Well stocked shop, helpful staff which assisted us with bike route maps.

Welcoming traditional pub on site with pub grub, a little pricey but they have the monopoly here.

Cannot comment on play area as this was our first camping trip with no kids for a VERY long time.

Some local cheesy radio in the shower block would be nice to block out unwanted bathroom noises ! Just a thought.

All in all a lovely little site in a peaceful setting.

I would recommend.

I'd seen this site advertised for a number of years and for various reasons had not managed to get there. My mistake.

Easy access, great location for the New Forest, an excellent pub on site serving good quality food and own brewed beers and more than enough underfloor heated showers and sinks to cater for a full site in peak season I'm guessing.

OK, not all the pitches are dead level and when we arrived in late October it was a bit soggy in places, but, hey, what do you expect.

It has a well stocked shop and offers daily newspapers and freshly baked pastries in the morning. Service couldn't be better.

If you have dogs it's a dream and even if you don't you can take the circular walk to the next pub, directions are on the bar in the Red Shoot Inn.

We've already promised ourselves to visit again and introduce our children and their families to it.

Lovely site, we've not stayed there for over 20 years and great to revisit.

Right in the forest and surrounded by farm animals, plus horses at the gate most mornings.

Excellent facilities and loads of hot showers with luxurious under floor heating. I didn't have to queue ever even though the site was full. My only negative comment is that whoever decided where to site the toilet roll holders may never have sat on a toilet in their life!

Will definitely return

We stayed at Red Shoot during Half Term week at the end of May.

It’s in a fantastic location for walks and cycling within the New Forest, without the need to jump into the car. You can borrow maps from reception with various routes that you can walk. On your return to the site you can pop into the Red Shoot Inn for a nice refreshing drink, the food is also very good here too.

All the staff on site are extremely friendly and helpful. The little shop is one of the best we have experienced on a campsite, with just about everything you need for your stay. They bake their own pastries (Croissants etc) on site, you can either order the day before or get down their early in the hope that they have some left. There are also a couple supermarkets (Sainsbury’s and Waitrose) in nearby Ringwood.

The pitches are close together, but this gives a very friendly and sociable feel to the site. Our Kids (8 and 11) made plenty of friends and they played around site and playground. You always knew where they were, which made our stay as parents that more relaxing too.

The Toilet/Showers and Washing up facilities were excellent and were always clean and never had to queue for showers and plenty of hot water.

We hired some bicycles in the village of Burley and went for a 8. 5 mile ride around the forest. We also went on a Hack (Horse Riding) from Bagnum Equestrian Centre. Both were a fantastic experience for all the family.

Overall, we couldn’t recommend this site and the New Forest enough. It is such a beautiful part of the country and wonderful to see all the wild ponies roaming about in the natural habitat.

This is an absolutely lovely site. Situated in a fairly wild part of the forest, the site is surrounded by amazing walks and cycle rides that show the different habitats and the famous ponies of the forest off to their best.

Facilities on the site are of the highest quality – modern and spotlessly clean toilets and showers, and a well-stocked shop for bread, newspapers, other food and household essentials as well as beer and wine. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Pitches are well-spaced, mostly fairly level and just under half of them have electric hook-up.

An added bonus is the lovely Red Shoot Inn next door that serves great beer and home-cooked food, but people travel a long way to eat there so advance booking for the busier meal services is essential.

We will definitely return and thoroughly recommend this site.
