Visited this campsite for the first time during the May half-term. Kids had a fab time, enjoying the park on site and making new friends. We hired bikes whilst we were there and enjoyed cycling around the New Forest, meeting foals and mums alike. The campsite is friendly and popular with a small shop on site where you can even get cool packs for a small returnable fee. It has excellent shower/toilet facilities. My only comment is lack of bins in the ladies for your sanitory disposals!

We choose this site after reading good reviews and were not disappointed, it is a small but clean and friendly site in a fantastic location. If you like the outdoor life you cant do better, its right in the heart of the forest and yet close to the coast as well. The toilet block has had its refurb and is clean and bright and the site is dog friendly, it does seem to be more popular with tents and hookup points are limited (you might need a long cable although you can borrow an extension from reception). Food and drink is no problem with the Red Shoot inn at the entrance which also welcomes dogs (it even has a bowl of dog biscuits on the bar and sugar lumps for the horses), and many more country pubs not far away. We will be coming back again for sure.

This site is absolutely superb. The staff and dog were very friendly and very helpful, we needed some water and the shop had closed but it was no trouble for them to go and get us some. The toilet facilities are first class and very clean. The site is behind the Red Shoot Inn, where you can get plenty of Real Ale's and food, The pub has it's own brewery. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of walks and cycle routes. There is also a playground, washing up sinks, laundry and electric hookups. Well worth a visit.

Had a lovely 3 night stay although a bit chilly at night. Owners very friendly, shop well equipped with essentials and pub serves good food and beer. Shower block clean but had problems that weekend with lights and water temperature, assume due to resent refurb. Excellent access to New Forest. Would definitely return in future.

Stayed at Red shoot in summer 2005 and returned in summer of 2006. It is a well run site with friendly helpful staff and a well stocked shop that offers a cold block service. Get there early for fresh bread and croissants as they run out quickly. The toilet/shower/laundry block is feeling its age but was thoroughly cleaned at least once a day and there were plans a foot to extend and refurbish it for the 2007 season. Noise was an issue on a couple of occasions, but there is a noise curfew and staff will issue warnings - and in one case in my 2005 stay repeat offenders were told to leave. If you are a camping wimp like me electrical hookup is a must - but points can be some way from the pitch. The Red shoot Pub is great and VERY handily located with a good selection of food on offer and live bands 2 or 3 times a week during the summer months.

This is a lovely site (o.k the toilet block needs some TLC but they were very clean, I've been to sites that are 100 times worse), however we went at half term and it was running at full capacity. There wasn't enough room to swing a cat and it was very loud (not in a raucous, ill-mannered or noisy music sense) the volume was created by lots of group campers having a good time. We stayed past the half term period, the site emptied and it was bliss. We will be going back (outside of the school holidays). We wouldn't recomend families with very young children visit the site during the school holidays, you would have difficulty getting them to sleep

Only our second time camping and had a thoroughly fantastic time. The staff were friendly and helpful. Shop was well stocked. Excellent cycling in the area. Red Shoot pub food was excellent, as was the beer. Showers and toilets clean, but in need of refurbishment, this is planned and will be complete by next year. The site was full, but we still had room to move. Our party consisted of children aged 3-15 and all enjoyed the fun, safe environment. We will definitely return.

Our first camping trip for almost 9 years and this time it was with children. We had to find a site which gave us a gentle re-introduction and we got lucky. Good Showers and washing facilities, a play area for the kids and plenty of farmyard stuff going on. All the staff bent over backwards and the pub let us do a pudding & beer take away.

Spent a long weekend here (5 of us, 2 dogs in two separate tents) with allocated pitches which I prefer as you don't get people camping on top of you especially if you are in a tent! Having 2 dogs it is great for walking with the New Forest right on your doorstep and for an early riser like myself there is nothing like a sunrise walk on your own. The pub being right there is also a bonus, particularly if you don't fancy cooking one night and they welcome dogs which for us is a huge plus (we don't go anywhere without them)! The shop has staggered opening times which takes a bit of getting used to but there is Tesco Express about 10 mins away which comes in handy if you're a bit disorganised like us and don't bring food with you. All in all, a good site and we will definitely be going back.

Strongly recommend, owner very friendly and helpful. Showers can get crowded at times but if you pick the right time no probs, clean thats the main thing. Right in the middle of new forest, great for walks and cycling. Definently go back, excellent
