may 2003 We have just returned from a four night break with another family camping in the Red Shoot Camping Park. The site is in a glorious spot in the middle of the New Forest. There are ponies and cattle roaming freely next to the campsite which our all our children loved and the forest is only a stones throw away. There is a Ford down the road which is great on hot sunny days as the children can play in the water and watch the ponies drink.
The facilities are basic, a shop, dishwashing, laundry, toilets/showers, nothing special but clean and tidy. The ground is a bit bumpy and the grass a little longer than in some sites but I think it adds to the authenticity of the New Forest.
At night there were various animal noises to be heard, some of which were un-identifiable. The dawn chorus from the birds seemed to start at about 5.00 am accompanied by a cockerel in the distance so if you want a good nights sleep, take ear plugs !!!
On the whole a lovely site and I would visit again.

Several Times My only complaint about this campsite is that it is a little pricey for what you get. We used to go there all the time, but have found cheaper alternatives in the New Forest area.

Visited this site a couple of years ago. Had fantastic sunshine all the time which was great but the site was great anyway! The only moan was that as we had got slightly sunburnt we found the showers a little too hot for scorched skin and you were not able to regulate the temperature!! Fantastic sunshine, good facilities and a pub on the doorstep - our sort of site!

A really nice family run site, which is next door to the “Red Shoot Inn” which brews its own beer!! And has very good food.
The site was friendly and had good mix of tents, caravans and motor homes with both young and old enjoying the site.
The site has a small shop and kids play area and the shower/toilet block seemed fine although we did not use it.
We will be returning to this site this year (Which means it must have been good).
