My 7 year old son and I stayed one night here as his introduction to 'proper' camping, and it was a great start. We pitched our tent on the field with the animal enclosures (it's called Highland I think) as there was a nice mixture of tents and caravans but not too crowded. It was also recommended by Ceri as being close to the new shower / toilet block. We found the people on the site to be very friendly, our neighbour even lent us a table and chairs so we weren't confined to the tent all the time! The site also felt very safe so my son was able to go off to the playground on his own. The rule stating no noise after a certain time was also adhered to whilst we were there, which I was pleased about. The farmer appeared in the evening and gave people a ride round on his quad bike and we heard that he had entertained the children with tractor-sledging the night before. There had also been pony rides and a woodland walk arranged the previous weekend, which we would have taken part in had they been offered during the week. The owners seem happy to provide more than just a campsite to make their guests feel welcome and I would definitely recommend the site.

We visited late July, 4 mums and 10 kids! All I can say is that we all had a fantastic time. The staff were so helpful the kids were really entertained, they loved the tractor pull and the horse rides and it was safe for them. The new shower block looked great it was just on the end of completion. No shop there but only a quick drive into mold wheres there's plenty. We would definitely visit again.

Arrived Friday. Was not impressed with the field we were put on. Very nosy. No use if you have young children. People next to us had a fire going and it was very windy. The sparkes off the fire were blowing towards our tent so I had to ask them to move it. Toilets were not clean. On the Friday paper etc was on the floor of the toilet it was still there Sat. Evening. No toilet paper. No hand paper towels. Could do with a lick of paint. In the new block of toilets. Went for a shower Sat. Morning and there was no water. When I went back later I had to wait 30mins before I could have a shower. Will not go back again. You only get what you pay for.

Got back from this site today and had a lovely time.
I did leave a review about this site 2 months ago and said that the old toilets let it down so was looking forward to trying out the new facilities, as this is all that let it down.
Site was as lovely as usual. So time for the facilities!
Gents toilets contained 3 new cubicles,3 urinals and 3 showers.
Being new it looks nice and clean and was warm and well lit, there is a nice washing up room with 4 sinks which is plenty to go around.
If I was to give criticism I would say that the toilets which are cleaned at 9pm every day, really need to be cleaned twice a day to keep them looking good, also the showers could do with a long handled squeegee to clean the floor after you have used them as there were lots of hairs and grass on the floor.
If the owners pick up on this, then it will be a superb site for future visits

We visited this site with our grandchildren having read the very positive reviews. The approach road was our first surprise its very narrow and twisting only evasive manoeuvring avoided a long reverse. The farmer is friendly and advised us about pitches etc. The pitches are large unmarked and on firm grass. The site is child friendly with tractor sledging, animals and other activities, however the toilets were never very clean.

Just got back from six nights at this fantastic site. Dylan, Ceri and staff at the park are always around to help and keep the children busy with horse riding, tractor sledging and woodland walks.(visit over a weekend to make the most of the activities) My children aged 2 and 8 loved the freedom as the fields around had more than enough space to play in. Its a great site for younger children and they also loved the park. The whole site is kept clean and the new toilet block always had hot water and I loved the large shower and changing facilities for my younger son.
We will return to this site as I found it very relaxing and I slept well as unlike some sites I have been on it went quiet at 10.30 as the signs around site requested.
Couldn't find fault with this site and I doubt we will go any where else for the next few years while the children are young.

This is an excellent campsite to visit with young children, there is a good play area. Plenty of room for tent so you don't feel hemmed in. There are lots of animals for the children to see. The farmer/owner was helpful and organised plenty of activities. We went on a woodland walk and the farmer gave us all a lift back on the tractor so my children were delighted. Horseriding on Sat evening was great but the best part for my young children was the tractor sledge ride held on Sunday morning. This was free of charge with donations to the air ambulance.
Both toilet blocks nice and clean plenty of free hot water and its not too far to walk to them in the middle of the night. Recommend for families with young children as there is plenty of room. Well thought out campsite and it was nice to see owners looking around the site at night to check for any noisy campers.

Brilliant!
Just returned from a 4 night stay at Fron Farm and we (6 women and 13 children) all had a great time.
The new shower/toilet block is now open and it is an excellent addition to the site. It is spacious and clean with plenty of hot water and toilet roll.
We didn't move far from the site, just into Mold for supplies. The Children loved the park and the field to play in and spent loads of time feeding grass to the sheep through the fence. Dylan was great with the children, they loved jumping on his tractor, quad bike or truck for a ride to the park or farm house. The tractor sledge ride was a big hit for all of us!
Ceri gave us directions for a forest walk which was great, and took about an hour to hour an half to complete. Wellies/boots useful.
The site is very well looked after and Dylan and Ceri are very friendly and helpful, especially when I needed my car jump starting :)
We will be back soon, keep up the good work!

Stayed here for a couple of nights, after reading all the fabulous reviews and talk on the forum about Fron Farm. We have two children and thought they may enjoy the animals and the infamous tractor sledging, we weren't wrong there, they loved it!
On arrival the owner directed us to the correct field with EHU and said we could chose where to pitch, she gave us some leaflets with local information on, about takeaways, nearest shop, hospitals, vets and tourist attractions etc which I thought was a very good idea and it was very useful.
The new shower/toilet block is now up and running and it looks very nice. The gents loos were always clean, but the ladies did suffer the effects of the children, which I know is a common problem on all sites. The owners did clean the loos a number of times through the day. The ladies did run out of loo roll at one stage, so I sent the owner a quick text just to let them know, within seconds I got a return text saying thanks and they will restock, this was done quickly and I was impressed with the response.
For children there is a park and lots of field space for playing in. The tractor sledging is a real hit on the site with the children and even with some parents! A lovely thing to do for the kids and I don't know how the poor farmer ever gets time to eat his 'evening meal before it gets cold' Its certainly a memory my children will keep for a long time, it made their stay! There is sheep and ponies for the children to pet too, which is a really nice.
There is no shop on site, so ensure you take everything you need with you, or travel into Mold which is a 10 min drive.
There is some lovely countryside and pretty villages in the area. I would recommend pony trekking at Coachmans Stables in Sychden, I did this with my two, the horses were very well schooled and the bridal paths in the area are set amongst beautiful countryside, a definate must!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Fron Farm, the owners work very hard with the campsite and running their farm, yet they still make the time to do the tractor rides and chat to the children about the animals, they seem really nice people. I feel that families with children under 10 would get the most from this site.
A great family friendly site, will return one day, but will bring a heater next time as even in August it did get very cold at night.
Thank you to the owners, for making our kids behave themselves with threats over no tractor sledging if they didn't! :)

Visited Fron farm for 9 nights in August. Absolutely brilliant site, well maintained, new shower block / kitchen area is now open and is constantly kept clean. Slight teething problems with hot water but Dylan is on the case and people just need to bear with him whilst the plumber sorts it out!
Dylan and Cerri (and the other staff) were very helpful indeed. They are very busy people but always stop to help out out if needed.
Site was quiet after 1030pm as requested by the signs stating this around the fields. Good play area for the kids which is very safe. Good drainage on the fields, no flooding at all and the pitches are a decent size as well. Easy access to Mold centre and the rest of North wales.
All in all an excellent stay, nothing bad to report and will certainly return again.
Thanks Dylan for ur help with my car when the alternator went!
