Just come back from a 3 nighter at this site. Went based purely on reviews from here. I must say my views are mixed. The site is much bigger than I imagined I have no idea why it says only 40 pitches there were at least 500 people there. I think perhaps it means 40 pitches for holiday purposes as most pitches are taken up with seasonal caravans.

Bad points

Electric is only 6 amp and this tripped on us at least 15 times during our stay and all we had on most of the time was a fridge. Even in the morning when we got got up we discovered the fridge had been off all night and that was all we had running. Not good in a heatwave and when you have paid for electric you do expect more than that.

We did encounter noise on one of the nights from seasonal pitches. It was well into the early hours on that night until all was quiet.

The owners like to be seen and this involves them using a quad bike around the site. This is driven extremely fast by all using it but especially when the teenager is driving it.

The grass could be shorter

There is no shop

The facilities are really poor. With about 500 people on site when I was there and only one washing up sink! I was really surprised at this and one night we had to queue for 45 mins to wash up! There was never a time when we didn't have to queue. Not ideal at all.
The toilets are showers are an eyesore and look really grubby. I did see cleaning going on so I think they do try but they are fighting a losing battle with these blocks. I know they are building more facilities at present (More washing up is desperate).

Good points.

Children are made to feel really welcome. The play area is surprisingly well equipped and there are pony rides and tractor rides on offer.

Staff are friendly and helpful and very approachable.

The price is really good we paid only £14 a night for 3 nights for 2 adults, 2 children and electric. Bargain!

The freshly laid farm eggs for sale are lovely.

Overall

We did like the site due to it's location and friendliness. We would not go back until the new toilet and washing up facilities were built however.

We stayed here with friends on a friday and saturday night. The weather was a bit poor on the friday but sat afternoon ended up nice.

All in all, I would say this is a nice campsite. The facilities were clean and tidy, a new shower block is almost completed which will enhance the site.

It is predominantly caravans I would say but the field for tents is large and flat (possibly could do with a bit shorter grass) but more than adequate. There is a nice play area for the kids and fair play to the farmer and his team, because they are constantly on the go organising various activities for everyone - pony riding, tractor sledging, nature trails, etc.

The village of mold 10 mins drive away also has a good market on a saturday.

We are not particularly rowdy people but also not quiet as we like to stay up talking quite late and we were able to sit up till gone 2.00pm on the saturday - I think the policy is that as long as you aren't bothering people it doesn't matter which is good in my view.

I would definitely visit the site again and would have no problems recommending it to anyone either.

 Fron Farm 09.

Horses in the field,

Running dogs go by,

Nice sunny weather not a cloud in the sky.

Sheep going Baa, Cow's going Moo.

Running through the farm with lots of things to do.

Tractor's and Digger's, crossing through the mud. I'm definitely coming here next week.

I love it here it's good.

The country lanes the clean fresh air,

Going on little bike rides, not even a care.

Drop all your worries relax, and sit back,

I swear all your problems, you probably lack.

Pony Rides, feeding lambs, tractor rides and more,

Who knew such a little farm, could bring so much galore.

Every one is friendly, Every one is nice, the park is loud when full, but silent throughout the night.

And thanks to Dylon and Ceri too, there always working hard what ever we do.

Making sure the place is tip top, all of the time, cleaning up here and there, the place is starting to shine.

So well done to the pair of you. You've made up every one's day.

I've got to go to school tomorrow,

But really I'd love to stay.

I'd just like to say;

Fron farm is a brilliant camp site were you can relax, and just sit back and rest, kids just go of playing. (Trust me, I'm one myself.)

Short drive to Mold were on a saturday there is a Market for lots of people to go to. Tesco's Aldi and Somerfield are at hand for all your shopping needs.

On site is a play area for all the little ones and the more older.

Plenty of animals that you can touch that are very friendly. You can feed the horses, carrots and apples. There are bike rides and walks around the camp site and wonderful views to glare at.

I would definitely recommend to family and friends. Brilliant sight. Always top spec.

Just got back from Fron farm. Had a great time there despite the weather being awful.

The site is in a superb setting, with plenty of room for the kids to play games, there is a park that all the kids gather at to play and meet new friends

The site is well kept and grass is mown regularly, but I would say that the cleanliness of the toilets and showers is not very good, there was grass and paper towels on the toilet floor on Sunday and still there on Monday, and I didn't fancy using the showers.

The site as I said was lovely but one problem I noticed is that, without sounding snobby, its location attracts some rowdy people and children, we had some near us and there ball kept hitting caravans and tents, despite campers asking them to move they came back later.

Overall a nice site, will be better when new shower block is finished.

Spent a weekend there with wife and eleven year old and found the site to be excellent especially as its only 40 min drive from home which is all you need for a weekend. The weather wasn't the best but the kids on site just got on with it I found toilets and shower very clean and a new block is due for completion.
The kids went on ponies for £2 a go and the farmer did some tractor sledging which was free and I think the whole camp turned out to watch. Overall I can't fault the camp and will be returning

We arrived at the site Saturday morning, the staff were really friendly and helpful they couldn't do enough for us. The cleanliness of the place was really good and I am looking forward to seeing the new shower block they are in process of building. They are really child friendly and have a play area and farm for children. Mold is 10 mins by car there are plenty of shops, pubs, and a good market on a Saturday.
I can't wait to return in July

Spent a long week-end at Fron Farm to celebrate my 60th birthday. Was lucky enough to chose the right time as the weather was terrific. This was our second visit to this site and on both occasions have had a great time. The owners go over board to make you welcome. We found the facilities to be adequate and clean and there is a new toilet/shower block near completion. Although our children have long flown the coup there is plenty for the children to do, from feeding the animals to playing in the park. Mold is not far away which has a good market and shopping facilities.

The owners and staff are very helpful, but they will not tolerate those who cause any disturbance to others, there are plenty of warning signs on display to that effect.

We can't wait to get back there, this is a great relaxing site with wonderful views.

By-the-way, this site can accommodate large tents without any additional charges, except during Bank Holidays, when there is an extra charge, which is fair enough.

Would recommend this site to anyone, absolutely fantastic.

1st Visit, and enjoyed it that much we have also booked for August this year!

Couldn't fault the friendliness of everyone on the site. We were shown to our pitch by Dylan who then offered to reverse onto the pitch for me which was really good of him.

Would recommend it to anybody with young children (even though mine are teenagers now, I think they would have liked it!) as there was so much for them to do with the play area and the animals etc.

Can't wait to see what the new toilet block looks like when it is finished as it looks as though its going to be very impressive!

Looking forward to going back in August.

We have just got back from a wonderful weekend camping at this site, only 1/2 hour from home we were not sure what to expect but we could have driven for hours and not found something as good. We went with our Dog & my Brother and sister in law came with their 2 children (6 & 4 years.) We got there on Friday evening but still managed to get pitches next to each other in a great corner spot with hook up for 1 tent. The Saturday events laid on for the children meant that if we wanted to we could just relax at the camp. Pony rides for £2 and Lamb cuddling, the kids favourite was the tractor sledging. Even guided family walks were available with the farm staff.

The facilities were ok couple of small shower blocks but toilets in two other areas (new ones being built, finished in July will make a huge difference).

We have just arrived back from fron farm after our first time and are really pleased we went was really lovely friendly place. We ended up staying an extra night as the kids didn't want to come home as they made loads of friends.
Brill for kids as they are really safe to roam around on their own and you are not having to worry, they were always off feeding the lambs, horses or looking for the 2 farm dogs pudge and taff who were great with them and of an evening they all looked forward to the tractor ride. They loved this.
This is a great place to camp, really clean, quiet and relaxing and I would highly recommend to anyone, we are going back in August for 10 nights and can't wait.
We would like to say a big thank you to the owners who work around the clock to ensure your safe and you enjoy your stay, we noticed they were up until gone 1, one morning cleaning the showers and toilets. We noticed some people had said it lacked in facilities but this is a camp site, not a 5 star hotel and there were 12 of us and we didn't find using them a problem at all
