We have just returned from Fron Farm and have had a fantastic time.
I was on my own with 2 children who from the moment they woke up were off enjoying this great farm. They only came back to the tent for food or a drink.
It is a great place for children it is extremely safe due to the location.
The play park was a big hit along with the £2.00 horse rides and tractor ride for a optional donation.
The owners are really friendly and were great with the kids nothing was too much trouble.
The only down side was shower block and washing up area, both areas were basic and there were not enough of them but it was not a problem, both areas were very clean, a new block is being built and looks great I was told it will be ready this year.
It is a short drive to Mold which is a quaint little town which has everything you would need and only 20p to park all day (bonus)
I would highly recommend this treasure of a site and will be returning in the future.

We have just had a wonderful long weekend at this lovely site. It is set in a beautiful location and the family friendliness of the site was fantastic, the owners and all staff and family were lovely, very helpful and can't do enough for their guests putting on guided walks, tractor pull-a-long rides, pony rides and lamb feeding. There are lots of animals around the farm and your welcome to visit them at anytime. Our children absolutely loved it, as did we.
There was a large group of youngsters but we found them to be polite and considerate and no bother at all. The facilities, to be honest, weren't as bad as I expected after reading some reviews on here, a little basic maybe but it is obvious the owners have taken peoples comments on board and are currently building a new modern block. What more could you ask for :)
The local area is superb with plenty to do, we visited nearby 'Loggerheads' a large woodland park with the most amazing views from the top. The shop staff gave our children crayons and worksheets to follow a nature trail and take crayon rubbings at each point, once finished they received a reward from the staff, all for free. There is also an adult trail to do too.
Overall, we had a super weekend and will be visiting again :)

We booked for the bank holiday weekend and enjoyed the stay, The access from one side (using the CH7 5QL instructions) is single track and very tight in places, not a problem but could be if you met another unit, not the owners fault but worth mentioning so come in the other way The site is well kept and the owner shows you to your pitch after booking in and makes sure you're happy with it. Showers toilets etc are a bit dated but perfectly usable and were always clean. We were in the field near to the new block that's being built and it's looking pretty good. There is a decent play area that'll keep the kids occupied and plenty of animals in and around the farm. The owners also arranged other entertainment for the kids including a tractor ride :-) with a twist, (kids loved it) and other farm type things. The owners were always around and approachable, always spoke and were always keeping things in order so top marks to them. Some people may not like the site as its not totally perfect or regimented, but it's one of the few sites that is still a campsite with a decent atmosphere where you can let the kids go to the park and feel safe to do so. It's got the good old fashioned feel with some modernness thrown in. Gas is available, pitch prices average and fresh eggs which our kids thought were 'special' as they were double yolkers ! !
Definitely would use again and recommend.

Just got back after a sleepless weekend at this site. This was our first camping trip with our children and picked this site for its 'family' focus.
The site itself is in a beautiful location, the facilities are basic and a little lacking for the size of the site (a group of 20+ teens on D of E were on site), and were far from clean. The area around was well equipped with an Aldi and some eateries and well placed for a day trip to Chester Zoo or the aquarium. We stayed 2 nights and both nights the toilets were flooded from poor drainage of the showers and the light in the ladies did not work. Such a shame as it could have been an ideal weekend with stuff to keep the kids busy, like the large playground and the animals and in a pretty spot.
On our second night, one of the 'seasonal' pitch members dared to pass comment on the noise and was affronted with some verbal abuse and threats of violence. Site staff did nothing.
Owner's response:
We are sorry that you did not have a good experience here at fron farm. Due to our location we do attract walkers and expedition groups. Most of these groups are so tired that they want to just sleep. On this occasion it seems as though you had a difficult time however we would like to stress that we patrol camp until the early hours and we live on site. We are on call 24 hours and we were not told about the problem you have mentioned. We have since realised which group caused the problem and they have since been banned from visiting here. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The new toilet block is due to open in July. We have many families staying with us who love the open space, the fresh air, the large playground and meeting the farm animals.

A lovely site with good sized grass pitches with short mown grass. There are lots of fields to walk in and the children loved the animals.
The only issue we had was the hook up is only 6 amp so you can not run a fan heater etc. The other issue on our visit was lots of school D of E groups which chatted late at night, earplugs soon blocked the chat however.
The site only has small shower/toilet facilities at the moment but a new block should be ready by July and this will make a big difference.
Mold is not far away and has a range of shops and a decent street market.

Visited this site in the May Bank Holiday. We had a lovely time. The site is very spacious, although it did get quite busy during our stay. The owners showed us to the camping field and were very helpful during our stay. There were lots of farm animals to visit and our 2 children fell in love with the puppies that were for sale. The drive up to Fron Farm is beautiful. (watch out for the sheep on the roads!) Dylan and his wife organised lots of activities for the children for the bank holiday. My son had a go at horse riding. And there was a tractor ride on the last day.
The on-site park was a top hit for the children.
The tent pitch was flat and the ground looked to be very well drained.
The toilet and washing up facilities were very clean. We noticed that they were building a new block. This would be a real advantage for busy periods.
Would definitely return to this site.

Just spent a great weekend at Fron farm, I have to say it's an excellent campsite for young families. The toilet block and washing up area are dated but clean but there is a much lager toilet / shower block being built there as I type. When we booked in we were shown to the field and told to set up where ever we wanted which is always good when camping with friends. The children could ride the horses / ponies for £2 and there was a free tractor ride which all the kids (and some adults) loved. There are also some farm animals for the children to look at and a great playground. The price is excellent, we've paid a lot more for a lot less ! You can find everything you need in a short drive away, tesco, Mcdonalds, aldi, take-aways etc etc.
The owners obviously work very hard and were very helpful, everyone on the campsite were singing their praises especially our children, when we were looking at the animals we spotted a cow about to give birth and to our surprise we were invited in to watch. This made our stay here even more memorable and will definitely be returning very soon. Forgot to mention the settings and views are really lovely, just what you imagine for camping.

Stayed at this site for 4 nights what lovely site this is the views are fantastic. The site owners are very friendly facilities are good considering the pitch fees, toilets are clean showers warm there is a new amenity block under construction due to be completed late summer
Plenty of farm animals to see,we bottle fed two lambs while we where there. Our dog loved the walks over the open fields. 6amp ehu fine if not too many things switched on at the same time.
Now we have discovered this site we intend to visit it often the location is ideal for exploring the north Wales country side and coast not too far away

Had a great time at this site. Only stayed for 2 nights, but the owner / farmer was very friendly and pulled the kids along regularly on his tractor through the campsite on what appeared to be a very long blanket! All the kids loved this.
My 2 year old daughter and us were taken in his jeep to see the horses and he spent a good half hour showing us round his farm.
The facilities were fairly basic, but this was represented in the price per night. We would definitely stay here again for a short weekend.

We all love fron farm, the owners are so helpful and friendly, nothing is to much trouble. My kids love the enclosed petting area and spent many happy hours in the barns, by the pigs and generally having a good time We all enjoyed the breathtaking views, loads of open spaces for kicking a ball around without worrying about balls banging against your tent, we also spent a few hours kite flying again it was great fun. Weather ok, but kids loved it and will return back this camping season.
