We came here for our first go at camping and it was absolutely fabulous.
So much so that we have now brought our own tent and are coming back this Easter.
First impressions were lovely we went to the reception where they gave us some leaflets on the site and the surrounding area, then took us to our pitch, which was lovely and spacious.
The warden checked we were ok putting up our tents and later came back to check we were ok.
There was lots to do on the site, 2 play parks quad bike barrelling, pony riding, cow milk, farm animals to pet and groom.
The toilets and showers were lovely and clean even though the park seemed really busy.
Bins were always emptied and the washing up area was a lovely bonus that we weren't expecting.
All in all a fabulous camp site and we can't wait to go back.

Visited here for 1 night during a weekend in June. We've been here many times before, but thought I'd post an up to date review. This site is very family orientated with lots for the kids to do. There are now 2 playgrounds, the new one is in the upper field inside the old paddock.
Activities for the children include pony rides, barrel rides and milking a big fake cow. My children love this park. Over the years the site has grown and there are many more season pitches. The site was more or less full when we visited and there were lots of children around.
The toilets & showers are modern and were OK, not the cleanest, but I suppose it was a very busy day and the owners can't help peoples habits.
The views are stunning, Moel Fammau is not far and in clear view as is the rest of the Clywdian Range. Overall a good family orientated site.

Visited site on the 31 June for 2 nights. Booked in quickly and was given leaflets and directions to ranch field.
I was told to just pick a pitch in central block, where ehu was located we had a lovely spot on the end of the row, with views overlooking the clywidian range.
The couple next to ushad not long arrived, they had 2 sons, which my son quickly made friends with, they to were first time campers.
The pitches were flat and level. Water points are dotted around the site. The closest shower block to us had 2 toilets for both men and woman and disabled toilet a shower was in both mens and womans.
Also 3 outside sinks for washing dishes etc, a little further up a small hill, there is another shower block of 4 toilets and 3 showers each for male and female. These worked by push button and were very clean.
There is a small shop at reception for essentials, although a little expensive. About 3 mile drive is mold town centre, shops and a 24 hr tesco, lidl and aldi, plus the usual take aways and chippies
Pubs near to the site are the antelope and the royal oak, a lovely walk to the oak can be had straight from the site, but beware its uphill coming back.
The barrel ride on the site is a must for young children, this is only on of a weekend, or during busy times, cost is only £2 there is also horse riding and feeding lambs, depending on season. All details were on a whiteboard outside reception.
To sum up my visit, it was lovely, especially as it was our first time, and would definitely go back

We have just returned from our first visit to Fron Farm and overall was really pleased with the whole experience. The staff were very friendly and approachable. We were sited close to the lower toilet block which although there were only two toilets were never full. We went with two other families and all of our children (6 in total) enjoyed playing in the park (of which there are two), which was really robust and suited to both our 6 year old and 3 year old. The kids also loved the lamb feeding (which was free)and the barrel rides which were £2. 00 per person (well worth it!) The shop on site sold milk, bread, eggs, ice cream and other essentials, there was also a food van on site on the Saturday and Sunday selling bacon sandwiches, burgers, chips, hot drinks etc. All three sets of parents would highly recommend this site especially if you have young children as there is plenty to occupy them. The only down side was that our pitch was close to the main car route, even though cars did adhere to the 5 mph rule we felt we would have relaxed more if we were pitched on a field however as we wanted to be pitched next to each other this was our only option. However would definitely visit again.

Stayed here over Mayday weekend with two kids aged 5 and 8 without ehu. Access to the site is good, up a country lane, but it`s not too narrow. It has a well stocked shop that is very reasonable at reception. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The tent field is large and even and the pitches are very large and clearly marked. Showers and toilets were basic but clean with hot water (free showers). Burger van on site from morning until night and was reasonably priced and very nice food. Ice cream van visits most days. Lots of activities for kids including pony rides, barrel rides, feeding lambs etc plus 2 parks on site. Local area - Mold a few miles away has a tesco and Lidl and has markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Overall a very good large site with good facilities lots of seasonal tourers but this did not detract from the overall experience.

I was on the last day of a Charity bike ride where I had already cycled 250+ miles and up and down Mount Snowdon so lets be honest. Any site would have done! But they were absolutely brilliant with me; When I got there they greeted me from their office but I had gone over-budget during my trip so I started to explain my situation and was going to organize a card payment from a friend but they immediately said 'Don't be silly, donate your fee to the charity' WOW! A lovely gesture made by a lovely couple.
So now the site. Its in a very hidden location, which is what I like and there was a Public House about 2miles away that I passed, I was to camp wherever I wished, which seemed odd as there are caravans, motor-homes and statics around the site. It's not usually like that at other sites and I was told to use any one of their 'Power-Showers' which are free with your fee; I was also told it would be nice and quiet for me to get a good nights sleep for my final leg of journey the next day. The showers were 'FANTASTIC' and spotlessly clean, as were the toilets, and it was so quiet that it felt like I was the only one there!
Spoke to some passers-by who were all courteous and friendly. I did not see or use all the facilities but for what I did experience I would be shocked and amazed if they were not perfect. I shall return but when I am on 'Less of a mission' as my only regret is not being able to fully appreciate one of the best camp sites I have ever stayed at.

I used to go to this site when I was a kid with my mum, dad and brother. I hadn't been for some time. When I did go bk with my family I was surprised at how much it had changed. There are plenty of things for kids to keep themselves entertained, play area, animals to see, feed the lambs early spring pony rides, nice walks through the woods and surrounding area. There is a shop on site which sells fresh farm eggs, sausages, bacon, burgers, most of the essentials. Since I have know the Roberts family for many years, I cannot fault their friendliness. It is a great site, with plenty to do.

Just had a nice couple of days on this site. You have to have Sat-Nav to find it though. Its a friendly site with good shower/toilet facilities. The on-site shop sells basics but you either have to take your own beer/wine or drive to Mold approx. 4 miles away to buy some. There was plenty of room for kids to explore and the owner lays on fun rides around the site in small barrels being towed by a quad bike, and at certain times of the year also provides pony trekking. Nice overall for a weekend but would find it a tedious for anything longer.

Easy to find and get to. We chose this as it is 30 mins from our house. We needed to test the tent and the dogs so thought this was ideal.
Arrived Friday tea time, lovely reception and shown to our pitch ( no allocated pitches but was asked if it was okay).
Pitch sizes are quite generous, they have pre marked out each pitch.
We were in the ranch field, and were the last to arrive the Friday evening, so we only had neighbours to one side of us.
It was raining when we put the tent up, but because we are higher up, it was that drizzle type rain.
Once we pitched up it was time to look around and then have our BBQ
Facilities on the block closest to us, 4 x washing up sinks, a disabled toilet, ladies toilet with two toilets, two sinks and a shower, apparently the same for the men. I think just a bit further up there is another block with more toilets and showers. I never had to queue to use the loo or if I wanted to shower it was always empty.
Drinking water available all over and the same for bins.
There is a park for the children, which is well equipped, and also it is a working farm so you can go and look at the animals.
There is a small shop that stocks essentials, and the nearest supermarket is 5 minutes away.
A burger van came on the Friday evening, and then it was there from Saturday morning until the evening.
We have always wanted to walk up Moel Famau, so took a trip there, about 15 minutes away. Came back to the campsite for a lovely summers day and another BBQ.
We went to go and look at the cows being fed and spoke to the owner, who was nice.
The barrel rides started later in the evening, they looked great, but my kids were a little too young for them!
We had a great time, despite it nearly being on our doorstep and will quite happily visit again.

Had a lovely week in Fron Farm, despite the weather. Its a lively site with an ice cream van which visits regularly in warm weather and The Grill Team van provides great hot snacks like burgers and hot roast rolls!
The toilet blocks are cleaned twice a day but the cleanliness of the block would be better if those staying at the site were encouraged to clean up after themselves - perhaps a mop and bucket can be provided so we can mop the shower after each use? Other sites do it with success.
Also a washing machine and dryer would be really good.
The owners and reception team were friendly and helpful. On arrival we were given a 'brochure' with local attractions, take-aways, etc - this was really helpful on one of the nights we didn't feel like cooking!
They do pony rides on Saturday nights for the children and another night they do 'barrel rides' for the kids where Farmer Dylan pulls a 'train' of kids in modified barrels on wheels - the kids and parents love it!
You can feed the sheep and the chickens too.
There is also loads to do in the area - Loggerheads and Llangollen are worth a visit and family friendly.
