We have visited from farm a few times over the last year and it really is a fantastic place for all ages. We have 2 young kids and the barrel rides and pony rides are a must for any child and they are really cheap to. Being a working farm you can wander round and see the sheep and cows and there's a little pets corner with hamsters and chickens which you are welcome to feed - they sell chicken feed in the shop. The shop stocks lots of locally produced meat and a good selection of things you might have run out of.
The shower blocks are clean and all the water points and disposal facilities are very good and kept tidy.
There is a good little Market on a Saturday which sells all kinds of things and as it is in the town is easy for shopping. There is a aldi and a lidi near by within 10 minutes drive and there are lots of pubs - would recommend the antelope as was really nice and very reasonable priced (kids were £1 and adults 2 for £10).
As a family we really love from farm and came several times in 2012, we were booked for Easter 2013 but unfortunately due to bad weather we had to change but this certainly hasn't put us off and we will be returning soon.
Can't really think of a bad point to be honest is easy to get to and well signposted and very pretty surroundings, can't beat having a coffee in the sun with the cows singing to you.

We have been visiting the site for several years & have seen the number of caravans increase year on year, unfortunately the facilities have not increased. Whilst the views from the site are excellent, the approach road is narrow and the track up to the farm is very uneven.
There are few showers/toilets for the size of the site, and few wash hand basins for those campers who do not wish to shower. As it was wet during our stay the showers were in a muddy state and no mop is provided to clean the shower after use. It was necessary to shower one handed as the showers are push button type but set only for a couple of seconds, one of the ladies' showers would only operate while the button was depressed ! The price has increased year on year but still has no laundry facilities.
There is a children's play area but the roadways were full of children playing on bikes.
It is several miles to the nearest town of Mold which has several supermarkets and an excellent street market on Wednesdays & Saturdays.

We (2 adults & 2yr old) had our first experience at Fron Farm, a somewhat wet weekend away-didn’t dampen our spirits though!
We pulled up at reception and were shown to our pitching area (given the choice of which out of approximately 12 pitches). All these were flat and a very good size!
We were surprised at the size of the site which is split into loads of ‘smaller areas’ which added to the friendly relaxed atmosphere (our 12 pitch area being one of them), our pitch was opposite a water point with a second within 30seconds walk and the toilets within 1min walk.
The Toilet Block:
The toilets were cleaned regularly. The gents comprised of 3 cubicles (including disabled), a few urinals and 4/5 showers (free hot water - although similar to swimming pools, keep pressing the button!). The ladies were similar with several toilet cubicles – one being disabled with a baby changing bench in it, several hand basins (all ‘adult height’), three showers – one disabled with shower chair in it.
The only downfall to this was no ‘family room’/area to change and wash baby/toddler – had to half strip in the basin area to wash then take into disabled toilet area to dress. Not a major issue for a weekend but may stop us returning for a longer stay.
Shop:
Small shop in reception area – stocks essentials including fresh bacon/eggs etc. Also a nice hot food van on site majority of the time (nice chips!)
Playground:
Lovely wooden play area – Signs to say it closes at 9pm, and although couldn’t see it from our tent it seemed to happen as noise died down.
Noise Levels
Noise rule of quiet after 10.30 - Everyone seemed to stick to this more or less. Majority of people round us had children so were winding down by 10ish anyway. One evening (early on) a largish group of teenagers used the area as a drinking area - was only 1 night so may have been a one off.
Locale:
Went to Chester zoo- approx 30mins, well worth a visit! On the way back we stopped at The Antelope pub – lovely meals (home-made chips delicious!), good value too!
General site comments:
The rules may seem like a long list but everyone seems to stick to most of them which means an enjoyable stay for all. The farm is fantastic – you can walk round and we did several times! We saw Pigs, cows, lambs, goats and chickens – 2yr old loved it!

I and my friends have visited this site on a number of occasions and have found it a very good site.
At the last visit they had put the prices up. The family do a great job but at our last visit the showers and toilets were not clean. Also there was a problem with the hot water at the ladies.
Also the Electricity went off. I think if you put you prices up you need to at least maintain your standards. I am sorry to say they have taken their eye off the ball. Hopefully they will get it sorted.
The area is great and close to mold town, a great little town.
Conclusion: I will revisit this site and hope they have improved on my last visit.

This is a lovely site on a working farm in North Wales. The owners are great and make guests really welcome. At the time we went children were able to bottle feed the lambs which was great, they offered short pony rides again which the children thoroughly enjoyed. We all enjoyed the woodland walk (run by the owners) that takes you through some lovely bluebell woods to a small traditional pub for a drink before the walk back.
The site reception has basic supplies and lovely fresh farm eggs. But there is a large Tesco in Mold 10 minutes drive away if you need to stock up.
The site has a children's play area and plenty of space for the children to play.
We were on a grass pitch with EHU which was flat and near to all the facilities. Good TV and Mobile reception. It was a bank holiday weekend and although the site was pretty full the pitches are all a good size and it didn't feel busy.
We have already booked to go back, it a lovely welcoming site.

We stayed for two nights the weekend after the bank holiday. After a speedy and friendly check-in, we were shown a choice of pitches (note to self: don't pitch right next to toilet block where the outside lights are on all night!).
Toilets and showers were spotless as was the dishwashing area. The playground was brilliant and the kids loved it. There is a separate playing field for ball games which again, the kids loved (and us!).
The kids also enjoyed the lamb feeding and pony rides. It was a joy to see the kids' faces as they were doing these activities! Don't forget some apples and carrots to feed the horses with!
Overall, this is a brilliant site, we had a fab time (and fab weather) and we will definitely return

Excellent site. We only stayed for one night as weather was not good. We were told to pitch up where we liked then pay later. It was mid week so very quiet.
The site is lovely, with a children's play area, toilet blocks and an on site shop. One of the toilet blocks was new. In very good condition and very well maintained.
Owners were very welcoming and helpful. Perfect location and ideal for families. We will definitely be returning.

We chose Fron Farm through good reviews on here, and the site is as lovely as the reviewers state. We came in a group of 2 families, with 4 children under 5. We needed EHU but the other party didn't. We were allowed to pitch together, and was placed on the triangle as we asked to be near the playground. Cerris was very helpful and accommodated our wishes exactly.
Pitch sizes are generous 10 x 10m and are flat. The campsite is spread out and is fairly private, having lovely 'avenues'. I liked the fact that tents were pitched among the tourers/motor homes, rather than stuck out in some rally field furthest away from the facilities ;-)
The older toilet block was our closest. It's dated but clean, but I showered in the new wooden toilet block further up the hill (just a minute further walk) as they were nicer. Both facilities were cleaned regular.
As we camped out of season, there was no pony rides. We asked Dylan about the tractor pull, which he charges £2 for Alder Hey charity, but he's stopped running it now. He did say that he's planning to use special barrels on wheels next year that conform to health & safety regulations. Not as much fun, but safer. However, he'll have to charge for this as the barrels are expensive.
There is an ice cream van that tours the site, and a burger van, but this was closed due to the season. As it was the hottest October day on record, he missed out on that one!
The playground is very good and a hit with the kids. It was a real treat to see the animals as well. There is a small shop in reception and we can fully recommend the burgers and the eggs!
Overall, it's a lovely laid out site and we had a fantastic time. Fully recommended for families.

Just returned from a weekend at fron farm, being a novice (3rd time only!)
I found the location, facilities, cost, pitch, children activities and overall experience exceptional
My 4 year daughter was fully occupied and really enjoyed the on site pony rides and feeding the animals.
I feel I must recommend the local pub ( the antelope ) for the outstanding quality of pub grub and beers, but, beware, not in walking distance, eight pound taxi ride one way, but well worth it, treat yourself !
Would I return, in a heartbeat !

Just had 2 very enjoyable nights at this lovely farm. Working farm, lovely welcome with choice of pitch. Lovely play area for the children, nice and safe.
Two shower blocks within a minute of each other, newer block is the better but both had free hot showers and were quite clean.
The 10. 30 noise was definitely stuck too, I think the wardens are on site a lot so this helps.
There is a reasonably priced burger van, reception with a small shop selling basics and an ice cream van calls to site daily.
There are animals to feed, 3 very hungry piggies, the kids adored feeding them all. Chickens, goats. Pony rides were £2, money donated to charity and the best was the tractor rides. Kids come from everywhere to have a go.
Dylan and his family are a very nice family, they are friendly and genuinely appear to love seeing kids having fun. They go out of their way to ensure you are enjoying your stay. And they raise a lot for charity too. Kids cant wait to go back and have already booked again.
