This was our first time camping (me hubby and granddaughter age 7) We chose this site because the reviews were very positive on the family site aspect. And we were not disappointed.
On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly chap and were told we could choose our own pitch. The site is very well maintained, and the toilets/showers are kept immaculate.
The playground is in the centre of the camp and it has everything on it, swings, slide, climbing frame, our granddaughter loved the tree stump to climb on. The reception has a little shop inside (open 10am till 4pm) the first day I didn't realize it closed at 4pm but the owner saw me and opened up so I could get some milk.
We all loved feeding the animals, we took apples carrots and cabbage and had great fun feeding them all. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and the 10. 30pm no noise policy was adhered to. All the campers were so friendly and chatty it made my first camping experience a great one, and raring to go again.
The nearest town is about 3 miles away and has a Tesco / Aldi / Greggs a few bakers and a Mcdonalds, in fact it has everything you may need, on the first night we were freezing so popped into Mold to buy another duvet, we got one from the B&Ms store there.
My only negative point about the site would be, we went Weds to Fri and they don't seem to do the tractor pull or pony rides during the week.
I would recommend this site to anyone, especially families, had a great time and would definitely go back.

Just back from our first weekend camping as a family. The wife and I used to camp several years ago, and we went away and stayed with a great mate and his missus and our kids recently, but this was our first time in our new tent with the two boys (4 and 2) and we managed to pick a great place to stay.
The site was easy to find, in easy driving distance of a big Tesco in Mold, and well laid out. Pitched on the Ranch field, we had our own little group of three tents. Toilet/washing facilities were good, free hot showers appreciated.
Kids loved the animals, especially my two year old who cried when we drove past the pigs/goats/chickens on the way out and said goodbye! Tractor pull was an experience, and they loved that but beware it can be a bit of a free for all getting on. Great value though - and the fresh eggs in the shop were top notch.
Very happy overall, pleased our Voyager 6 off of eBay turned out to be a cracker and that the site was so good for families. We'll be going back soon.

Fantastic campsite and we hope to return in September. We stayed with 3 children (11, 2 and 6 months) and all had a great time. Really child friendly site, the animals were a hit as were pony and tractor rides.
The pony rides are what you would expect, but the tractor rides were not for the faint-hearted! You are towed along on a strip behind the tractor clinging on to the person in front of you across bumpy fields and tracks. Our 11 year-old loved it!There is a playground for the children and loads of space to play.
Owners couldn't do enough to help. Definitely understood families and stayed long past the time advertised for rides to make sure all the kids waiting got a turn.
Little shop stocked basic essentials and we all bought eggs to take home. Burger van on site too which was a blessing on the last night when we were tired and it rained.
The pitches themselves were flat and huge! With a large 4 man tent and cars there was still plenty of room all round.
Toilet block was small but despite the site being busy, rarely had to wait. They were basic but clean which is all you need really!
The route you are directed up is a single track road which if you don't fancy that is a bit hairy! However, if coming from Mold, if you take the turning before that (into a woodland site, but easy to miss) you get directly into farm on a better road.
Was also very good value. Bargain for the time of year - in fact bargain for any time of year!
All in all, we loved our stay and as I said are already planning to come back. Would definitely recommend it.

We stayed here for the first time at the weekend, and could not fault the place! Very clean shower blocks, great friendly staff who worked tirelessly to keep the site spotless. The pitches were large and a play area for the kids was a blessing. The tractor rides were so much fun and all in a good cause! Monty’s eggs were delicious. Pony rides for the kids, we liked it so much we have booked in for the weekend again, a week in August and also for the Special Halloween weekend. Keep up the good work Fron Farm it’s a lovely place to visit!

This is a lovely family run and family orientated site we have stayed at several times. It's set on a farm on a hillside - giving lovely views.
There are goats, horses, chickens, sheep, cattle and rabbits for the kids to feed.
There is a play area and the reception houses a shop selling basics. There are shops and supermarkets in nearby Mold.
Nearby are a couple of pubs which do food but can't comment as haven't tried them. Burger van on site is open at weekends but there can be quite a wait at times.
Pitches are mostly level and well spaced. Most seem to have EHU.
It definitely has 2 toilet and shower blocks - We have used both - which are kept clean and tidy. The whole site is well looked after by the owners. They also take time out to organise pony rides for the kids and tractor rides - donations from which are sent to Alder Hey Childrens Hospital.
A lovely welcoming site that my family can't wait to return to.

We had a lovely stay at the park and it was lovely to see the children play as children should. Great facilities on site. The older toilet block was not the most pleasant but the new block was spot on and well worth the extra walk up the hill. Lovely that it was all open and we could explore. Enjoyed the walk from the farm to coed-y-felin and back (up hill). Tractor rides were great and children still talking about them. Pony rides were a bonus and the lady was so very pleasant. The farm animals could do with a little info on them like names, breeds so the children could learn about them. Or some quizzes for the children to do to find the answers around the farm! Really well run and definitely got the family touch. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem. Thankyou for a pleasant break. The only one thing that we found slightly annoying(and amusing) was the lawn mowing everyday by the seasonal residents, some of them even more than once!

Just had fantastic weekend with family and friends at your site once again, so much for the children to do, they all loved the play area, feeding the animals, tractor rides, horse riding and so much more, we also enjoyed our Coed y Felin Woodland Walk.
I have used this site may times and there are 2 toilet blocks, one which is older and more dated but well looked after and kept clean, the new toilet block which is 2 mins walk from old one has plenty of toilets and showers and are also well looked after and kept clean, if there are any problems they are dealt with straight away.
There is nothing I can fault about this site. We have been to many other sites but this is definitely our favourite, but both myself, my children and friends keep returning here time after time

Stayed two nights and was surprised how big the site is. Lots of different fields full of tents and caravans of all sizes.
I am a middle aged woman and was walking in the area, so was on my own which the farmer found suspicious!
I would think it is a great site for families with young children but a bit too much like Butlins for me.
The main shower block seemed good but very busy in the evenings as everyone was bathing their children. There was a hot food wagon and an ice cream van in one of the yards as I arrived around 5pm, but I am not sure if this is a daily occurrence.

The owners are brilliant, so friendly. The tractor ride is so funny and a great experience. The play area is great for the kids. The views are beautiful and the overall feel is warm and friendly.
The old toilets arent the best I've ever used but nothing to put anyone off, the shower is a power shower and they were always clean.
Everyone here is friendly, the tractor driver who was picking up the, rubbish bins stopped and jumped out and let the kids sit in the tractor and have thee photos taken.
The horse rides were great at only 2quid and they all got a rosette at the end.
Family friendly and amazing! Only an hour from Liverpool or Warrington.

We had an overnight stay at Fron Farm and as a couple it is not a place we would recommend or stay at again.
The camping fields are clean and well maintained, the grass short and the pitch we were on was flat and a little exposed (remember to take lots of tent pegs!) & as we were high up it did benefit from nice views.
The toilet facilities were very poor, as I said above the site is huge and the toilet block had 2 toilets and 1 shower which is no where near sufficient for a site of this size. It does say there is a new toilet block, I don't know where it was I certainly didn't spot it. Both my partner and I had to queue for both male & female facilities.
This site is family orientated and gets lots of children racing around so I'm sure if you have a family it will be fine, but just not for us a quiet couple. There is a burger van on site which is run by very pleasant people, the food was ok and you get what you pay for but it was handy as there are not many food outlets in the area without a good drive. There is CCTV on site which is a first for me on a campsite.
No recycling on site, in brief a huge site with poor toilet facilities which is geared towards families. There is a quiet policy after 2230, this was mostly adhered to, but you always get the odd ones.
Owner's response: We are glad that you enjoyed the views from Fron Farm. We are sorry that you were unable to find the main toilet block which was completed last year. It is a log cabin and is located amongst the trees above the playground. We are busy with families in the August summer holidays but would welcome you here again in low season if you are looking to have the camp site extremely quiet. We hope to see you again.
