Staying on a farm site made a great change from the usual sites we stay on. We (Family of Mum, Dad, son 12, daughter 9 and dog) stayed for 2 nights July 2010.
Three or four different fields with a mixture of tourers, tents and motorhomes. All grass pitches, numbered with ample space between each one, plenty of hook ups, 6 amp, our normal kitchen kettle did trip the electric a couple of times. May need levellers in some areas.
Two shower/toilet blocks, we used the newer one. Good ample modern clean facilities. Good play area. Small reception but with lots of local information, also sold the basics, milk small selection of groceries etc, and the best free range eggs ever! collected from the hens as we waited! Food van on site which I think is open around Fri, Sat Sun till about 9pm may be more. This was ideal if you arrive late and don't want to start cooking. Reasonably priced also.
About 4 miles from Mold town centre, nice town with plenty of shops and a good market on Saturday (and another day, but I forget which) we parked in the Love Lane car park opposite Lidl, it was 20p for the DAY!
Lots of farm animals around the site to look at, rare breed sheep, cattle, goats chickens roaming about and my daughters favourite, the horses. On the Saturday activities were arranged tractor rides, lamb feeding horse rides, the kids on the site loved it! Don't know whether this is done every weekend, check with site. Owners / staff very friendly and helpful. All in all a really good weekend.
Tip: There is a short cut to the site if travelling from Mold which isn't sign posted, but this is up a steep hill, saves about a mile and a half, not suitable for caravans tough, but in a car fine, and we got up in our motorhome. Ask the site for directions

We visited for the weekend, it rained heavily on the Friday we arrived, the weather steadily improved to the Sunday the ground dried out well. The views are lovely and the staff and other campers were very friendly.
Like other reviewers I was unhappy with the frequency of the toilet block cleaning, the site was very full, every time I went into the toilet block it was not as pleasant as it could have been, especially considering the new block has been purpose built and had the potential to be excellent.
We booked an EHU, the pitches in this area were too close together, we were lucky, our neighbours were lovely and at 10.30pm promptly went to bed. Other campers were not so thoughtful, the noise curfew was most definitely ignored by quite a few, the chatting went on til late in the night.
Overall we had a relaxing couple of days at a very reasonable price, there were lots of activities about and animals to interact with, but wont be returning as when we chillout camping it is about having some space and peace to relax in, and a clean ablution block.

Fantastic site, well organised and staff very friendly. The toilets were spotless. The camp shop could sell a little more provisions, but only 10 mins drive from Mold town, where you can find three supermarkets
They have signs up all around stating to be quiet after 10:30 or you will be asked to leave and people do take notice of this. On the actual site there are parks for the children and organised activities eg. being a farm run site there is animal feeding, horse riding and also tractor rides
Overall this site is well worth a visit

Just returned from Fron Farm where we stayed for two nights. The site offers fantastic views of Moel Famau and the surrounding countryside. The site is well run and there are two toilet / shower blocks one is new and we didn't have to wait for a shower during our stay as it was pretty quiet being midweek.
There is a small shop on site and a kids play area as well as cows, goats and rabbits to keep the kids amused.
The owners are very friendly and even loaned us a gas regulator for our camp stove as ours was playing up. There are plenty of walks close by and a few pubs within a couple of miles of the site.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at Fron Farm and would definitely return.

We were co-hosting a Geocaching event and chose this site as the perfect venue because of its setting and south facing camping fields (and also the abundance of geocaches in the area) It is so peaceful here.
The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating, for such a large group. There were approx 20 units in total.
The facilities were excellent, The staff were excellent.
The camp is definitely a family orientated site, with so many activities to see and do. The pony rides and Tractor rides were the highlights of the weekend (adults too!) and a bargain too.
The site is a popular place for expeditions and back packers.
There is a little shop on site which we found to be extremely reasonable on price and there is also a burger type chip van on site at certain times. Again good prices and good fresh food.
We would say to anyone.Come here and enjoy the amazing views and relax on this great family run site, where nothing is to far away.

Having visited this site a few years earlier, our visit then was some what spoilt by some very antisocial behaviour by a few individuals who partied all night and were abusive to other campers, resulting in them being thrown off the campsite the next morning. So it was with some trepidation that we returned recently.
The campsite has improved and grown some what since our last visit, with the owners taking a zero tolerance stance of any unsocial behaviour including no noise after 10.30pm. The owners have concentrated on making the campsite very family orientated, and I would probably not recommend it for child free couples as majority of visitors had children!
There is a play area situated fairly centrally on the site in one field, the site compromising of a few different fields. Due to some huge tents some pitches in some areas looked a bit cramped, but we had plenty of room on our pitch.
There were many activities organised for children, such as lamb feeding, tractor rides, horse riding and woodland walks. The tractor ride proved very popular with ours! which involved being dragged around a field on piece of rubber attached to a tractor!
A new toilet block has recently been built, housing 3 showers and 4 toilets, (for woman and same again for men) also a washing up area. There is one other block in another field consisting of 2 toilets, 1 shower (again male and female) and 1 washing up sink, this block although clean looked rather tired and out dated, compared to the new block. Although there didn't seem to be many facilities for the size of the site, we never had to queue.
It was good value costing £19.50 per night for tent with electric hook up, 2 adults and 3 children
We had a very different experience this time and will probably return in the future.

This is the second time we have stayed here, it is a lovely site and the owners very friendly.
It is great for Children with a play area and also a ride were they are pulled along on a mat by a large quad bike!
Was unfortunate that there was an awfully rough group of boys there who ruined it for a lot of people, this was dealt with by the owner and this group got banned, I was impressed by that.
New toilet block, there is also a snack bar where you can buy chips ect which were lovely!

We've just come back from a great weekend at Fron Farm & thoroughly enjoy it!
They had lamb feeding, horse rides & a tractor ride and a kids play area.
The lady owner was really pleasant. Every where was really clean, including the loo's.
It was our first time in a touring caravan & the site helpers & visitors were really helpful with our positioning etc.
Mold is only about 10mins down the road, although other than shopping we didn't need to leave the site.
The only downside was about 40 Duke of Ed campers arrived for the night & the toilets on our field were always full of teenagers, which was a bit uncomfortable, not that I'm against teenagers (I have 3 of my own) but it ruined your privacy in the loo!
Would definitely return in the near future.
£43 for 2 adults & 3 kids, with electric, for 2 nights with the extra facilities it was great value for money.

This is a good site but...
The directions in lead you up a single lane road with no passing points. Scary. Only after you arrive do you find an alternative route. From mould turn right at what looks like a wooden bird table, this is a much better road into the site
All the other reviews mention horse and tractor rides and the burger van. None of this was available form my stay as we were staying in the week.
The animals are great and my kids loved stroking them and the park was ok too. There is a lot of machinery around the park/sheds.
The toilets and showers were not dirty but not clean, the older ones were the worse.
On a good point there was plenty of hot water.
The staff were very friendly though but I think the quad bike is driven a bit too fast on the site. I will visit again though
