We stayed here for a long weekend in June. The owner was helpful and since he was quite full and we requested a quiet spot he showed us to the caravan part of the site and told us to just pitch our tent where we wanted. He also visited daily and asked how things where. The tent fields are mostly level and mowed and the ground soft. Shopping if needed is about 12 miles away but plenty to see on the way there. They do not have a freezer for ice blocks, beware! (Have since learned how to pack cooler to make ice last longer!) We had to make a daily run for ice. We were told campers kept vandalising the freezer and therefore, removed! The location is superb, high in the hills of Wales with great views and lovely walks. The site is on a working farm and we spent quite a bit of time with the horses and other animals. The site itself was was quiet but with plenty for children to do. The play area is centrally located and while it doesn't look like much kept my son occupied for 3 days. Best play area so far. It won't seem it when you see it for the first time but it was the hub of the campsite for the children and I guarantee your child with love it! The only facilities on site are the showers and dish washing blocks. Okay, so they were not the greatest and hey, maybe could even be improved, but the rest of the stay was so great I wouldn't let that put you of this site! The site was so enjoyable we didn't even go out sightseeing, we stayed and enjoyed the site, the farm, the animals, the walks, the views and the whole camping experience. Highly recommended and we will go back again and again.

Fron farm is a fabulous campsite that deserves a lot more than 2 stars! It is up some lanes so the view on arrival is amazing, including a great view of Moel famau and the surrounding hills. The couple that owned the farm were really nice and helpful also, even offering me frozen food out of her own freezer as we forgot a pizza for our little boy! The price was £14.50 for 2 adults and a child inc electric hook up which I think is very reasonable. It is a big farm with several surrounding fields. Also there are 2 enclosures right by the pitches , one with highland cows in, and the other with sheep. Lovely feature as you can watch them graze while you camp. Plenty of space to walk your dogs too, as the path goes all round the farm and you can also go in the fields too. They also have a playground which has plenty of equipment for the kids to play on. Feels like you are up in the mountains but dont realise that you only have to go down the hill for a few miles and your at the town of Mold. I highly recommend this campsite and compared to some of the 4 star sites we have stayed at this one beats them hands down! I will certainly be back!

A warm Welsh Welcome! As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the whole family who led us to our pitch. Being novice caravaners we were assisted in reversing the caravan and setting up. We were even given an electrical hook-up because ours had been left at home. A most useful leaflet was provided telling us of all local amenities with phone numbers etc. The facilities on site were excellent - toilets, showers, water supply and the children's play area. As well as a high standard, they were very clean. There is a small farm shop and a more than adequate shop at the petrol station a mile down the road. For a larger shop Mold is a 10 minute drive away with a wide variety and choice of shops. We were fortunate enough to stay during the National Eisteddfod week which provided us with plenty to do. However we could have stayed on to visit, Llangollen, Llandudno, Rhyl and even Chester, or stayed on the site to admire the breathtaking view. On leaving we were thanked for our custom and received valuable assistance again ensuring that our caravan was properly hooked up and our marriage intact! We will certainly use this site again an can recommend it to anyone. Diolch yn fawr am bopeth.

One visited this super little campsite over one year ago, now I cannot stop going as its tranquil, peaceful and relaxing from everyday hustle and bustle. The farmer and his family are ever so delightful and friendly, they make you very welcome to there site. The facilities are clean and tidy. The site is well maintained the views are better than my manor. One will be visiting this site again for many years to come with my family and friends.

So you all know I am a newbie to camping and having just spent a week at fron farm i will definatly be using the site again. The facilities are clean and well kept and there is also a play area for the children. Due to the fact that the site is a working farm my two youngest boys loved the fact the the sheep came over to them.
The welcome you get is friendly and warm. Both the farmer and his wife are pleasant and helpful. The site is situated within easy reach of a Tesco and Aldi superstore, and the A55 so access to basically the whole of north Wales is possible, and the antelope pub offers a pick up and drop off mini bus so if you feel the need for a pint or a meal they are within reach.
For me the main advantage for the site is its location and when you walk out of the main gate you feel a million miles away from town/city noise.

We have a touring caravan on seasonal pitch and stay at the site most weekends. The views and scenery are beautiful, the site is very well maintained with free showers and toilets. The owners are very helpful and friendly. There's a great play area for the children, climbing frames, swings, logs etc. The site is used by schools and youth clubs for Duke of Edinburgh's exercises, all are very well supervised. The site gives children/pupils a great chance to get close to farm animals and explore the countryside. Great value for money and a really good gate way, to the life in North Wales. I recommend this site.

We love this site, we go every month on a weekend break and its so peaceful. The views are brill and the kids love it. The farmer and his family are so friendly and they always welcome you. Its clean and tidy. Worth going. There is a park for the kids and the farmer, every now and then, comes in his tractor and has a conveyor belt tied to the back, the kids and adults sit on it and he takes them around the caravan site, its fun and kids and us adults love it lol. Our friends come too and has lovely walks too.

Not a bad little site. Quiet and well run. Situated on a working farm the site takes both caravans and tents. Off the A541 the approach to it is a little narrow so care is needed when towing onto the site. The site is well laid out with plenty of space. The tent field is more or less level and most of the caravan pitches seemed level also. There is an extra field that seemed in us by school type groups. The play area seemed to have plenty of new looking equipment , slides, swings, climbing frames all of the the standard wooden log type. The toilets seem OK although we never used the main block only a small one near the tent pitches. The owners are friendly and helpful. There's an extra field for ball games etc. At £7 pn for 1 adult & 1 child (no EHU used) We'll definitely be going back.
