Very neat & tidy site, almost a manicured feel with pitches set around the outside of the field in a regimented fashion but surrounded by genuine dales countryside.
The pitches are a good size and having them marked out avoids anyone shoving their guy ropes under your awning but white paint on drystone walls is a shame. Posts knocked in the ground would do the job and allow them to be moved from time to time to let grass recover.
Friendly owners, everything very clean and within easy reach of Hawes.
My second camping trip since childhood and, despite the slightly regimented layout sites like this will make sure I carry on camping.

First visit to the site, really helpful owners as we broke our caravan step on the first day when I asked for a yellow pages after explaining what had happened they lent us one for the whole of our stay.
As said in previous reviews 20p for shower plenty long enough. Did not have to wait even though Bank Holiday week and half term.
Lovely walks in surrounding area only 10min walk to Hawes.
Dog friendly pubs Great market in the week.
Great time had by all even our teenage son! (don't want to go walking) but admits now he enjoyed it. We will return.

Visited over end of May bank holiday, ww were a bit nervous as this was a last minute booking and from past experience camps that aren't booked well in advance of a bank holiday are usually best left alone, how wrong we were. The owners were very friendly and helpful, showing us to the pitches and then giving us a choice of pitches as we had arrived early.
This is a beautiful site in a beautiful location, as previous reviews have said, toliets are basic but clean, 20p for showers for 5 mins, this is more than long enough for a hot shower. 20p to use hairdriers, again this is ok. Never had to wait or queue to use either, other half commented that mens facilities were adequate.
The washing up area was clean at all times and although the camp was full, because they only pitch around the edge of the field you didn't feel hemmed in. Plenty of room for the little ones and big kids to play in the centre of the field. Only minor niggle was that the family in next tent pitched right next to ours managing to block one of our exits and making the issue of navigating of guy ropes a bit tricky.
We feel the site would benefit from an allocated dog walking/run area on the campsite, as there is nowhere locally that dogs can run free due to sheep and cattle etc.
Excellent village, plenty of shops, great fish and chip shop, dog friendly pubs and generally welcoming feeling. We didn't feel that prices were over inflated due to the setting of a tourist area. We didn't have EHU on this occasion but this is available for short term stays. Owners told my other half that they limit the amount of stay on any pitch to preserve and maintain the ptiches to the excellent standard thay they were during our stay. We will definitley visit this site again, in the very near future.

We booked to stay on this site for 3 nights, and ended up doubling our stay to 6. We loved the site, the owners are really friendly and helpful, nothing seems too much trouble for Janet. She even picked our hardstanding pitch to be next to grass as one of our dogs has sensitive pads on his feet! I had no problem with the showers, the facilities were clean, the laundry room was ideal. The location of the site is excellent for surrounding things to do, we didn't come close to running out of places to go. The price was really reasonable at £12/night for electric pitch for motorhome with 2 adults and 3 dogs, and they were happy for my husband to put his pop up tent up next to our pitch (he likes to sleep in a tent sometimes when we are away), with no question of charging us extra, unlike some other campsites we've been to. I love the way everyone camps around the edge of the fields so there is a lovely large open area in the middle.
The fish dinner in the Chippie Cafe in Hawes is wonderful, the best batter ever!
We would definitely return, the only slight downside was a lack of anywhere to let the dogs off the lead, but fortunately the lane outside the campsite is quiet so I used to walk the dogs there.
We loved the Yorkshire Dales, never been before, will definitely return, and to this campsite for sure.

The campsite is a pleasant one with good views over the surrounding fells.
The toilets aren't too bad and seemed fairly clean. As mentioned the showers are coin operated which is a bit of a pain but ensures there's no queue.
Only a short walk into Hawes (10 minutes) where there's plenty to do and there's lots of walks around to do.
I would recommend this site.

What a lovely site. Received leaflets from owners prior to arrival regarding the local area. Very informative. Good facilities and a nice walk down into Hawes. Plenty of hot water. Showers 20p which lasted 5 minutes which was plenty of time. Owners very friendly and helpful. A lot of walks in and around the area. Good pubs and restaurants in easy walking distance. Will visit again.

Nice site, lovely owner. Water very very hot in shower and hard to find a good mix - took me a while - either freezing or far too hot, young kids might find it hard to operate - we have been on loads of campsites (80+)and this was probably the worst one for water temperature. Maybe I was just unlucky.
They only use hard standings in winter and there are only four so booking is advisable! Bit disappointed with Hawes - pubs didn't have that open fire, family and walker friendly feel so we didn't go in any! Easy walk from the site there - there's a spar for food shopping. Cheese factory was good - doesn't take long to go round!

Good sized pitches, well maintained and run site. Owners were friendly and welcoming.
We decided not to cook on site, it's a little exposed and the wind was up the evening we stayed. Perhaps thegood selection of pubs in Hawes, just a short walk down the hill swayed our decision?!

Fantastic site. Just returned home from here after a 4 day stay. Facilities excellent and the owners are very friendly and very helpful. Not too many pitches and great place for kids to have fun as all the tents are around the perimeter. Peaceful at night apart from the occasional sheep but great to get a good nights sleep. Weather was fantastic and we spent a lot of time exploring with our ordinance survey map and a walk up Weathertop Fell which was a long walk up via Buttersett. Some good places to eat in Hawes and pleased with the Spar as we always turn up with no food as no space in the car to get anymore in and a long way to Asda or Tesco. Will definitely return.

This was our second visit to this great site. The owners Mark and Janet are extremely welcoming and very helpful. The site facilities are very good. The site is just 10 minutes ( by foot ) from Hawes which has many attractions ,pubs ,shops etc , but if all you want is peace and solitude to enjoy the spectacular scenery this is just the place for you. I would wholeheartedly recommend this site. My family will definitely be visiting again next year.
