We stayed here for 6 nights in high season. You can only reserve a pitch if staying for 6 nights or more but we saw lots of campers coming and going for a few nights and they all seemed to be given a pitch. The weather was very wet and windy which meant that we appreciated the convenient location of the very good facilities such as showers, washing up area and laundry room. We stayed along the hedge nearest the lane and seemed to avoid the wind which hit the rest of the site. As previous reviews have mentioned - the site is great for walking into Hawes, central for the whole of the Dales, very well run and maintained and quiet (despite this being school holidays).
My only minor complaint would be paying 10 or 20p for every freezer block.
However if returning to this area would definitely choose this site.

This was my fourth visit to Bainbridge Ings, but my first in a motorhome.
This campsite has always been a favourite of mine since my first visit. Not only do I love The Yorkshire Dales but I love Bainbridge Ings Campsite.
The facilities are always kept clean and in good condition, the owners have always been very helpful, and nothing is too much trouble, the scenery is fantastic and the prices to stay here are very reasonable.
The tents, caravans and campervans are pitched around the edges of several large fields, meaning that my children had plenty of space to play in the centre of the field.
The site is only a few minutes away from Hawes centre and is great to access anywhere in the Dales. There are plenty of walks that can be accessed directly from the site.
Bainbridge Ings helped make our two week holiday in The Yorkshire Dales another fantastic one which was enjoyed by all of my family. The worst part was leaving and heading back down to Kent.
We will definitely return to Baibridge Ings.

This site must be one of the best located sites in The Dales. The views from almost anywhere on the site are outstanding. The grass is alway kept well cut and is alway kept free of rubbish with plenty of large refuse and recycling bins near to the camping/caravan fields. The owners are always available but 'not in your face' and the usual commonsense rules are applied. It's a very pleasant ten minute walk into Hawes.
My only adverse comment is the toilet/shower block. Though they are kept spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water (20p slot for showers which gives plenty of time for a shower) the floor of the wash, shower cubicle and toilet area's are concrete with not a tile in sight making them feel very cold, damp and uninviting.
Having said that I would not hesitate to visit again

Wonderful campsite - great location within walking distance of Hawes. Hugely friendly owners - nothing was too much trouble. Good, clean facilities and everything was very well organised. Quite windy when we visited, but this didn't really bother us. Would definitely stay again if in the area and would highly recommend.

Excellent site with lots of space for games (we have 2 boys aged 9 and 7). Owners friendly and helpful and toilet/shower/washing facilities absolutely fine. Beautiful surroundings and 15 minutes walk from centre of Hawes which has shops. Cashpoints etc. Free wifi if close to the office of the site. Would strongly recommend! £17 per night and 20p for showers.

Just returned from 3 night stay, the site is located in as superb part of the dales. The views from the pitches are very relaxing, which compliments the whole atmosphere of the site. The owners in my opinion are just as you want them, welcoming, friendly and there if required but not in your face. It does feel like you have been welcomed into their backgarden. Toilets and shower's were always clean. The site was by no means full, so cannot comment on whether there is enough, but that problem is normally solved with a bit of time management. Local village of Hawes is 10 mins walk away and is quaint with nice pubs and café. Wensleydale cheese factory is 2 mins walk out of the village and worth a visit. There are some great view's from Buttertubs Pass which is accessible by walking, cycling or driving, so no one need miss out. Finally the worst thing about the site. Having to leave.

A very nice site, run by very friendly people, although it could be windy at times. It has a clean toilet and shower block with a laundry room and a pot wash around the back. The grass pitches are very neat and well kept, with well maintained stone walls.
It is very near Hawes, which has some interesting shops, but don't expect to find a supermarket. The pubs are very good with plenty of real ale and friendly bar staff.
There are some fantastic walks in the area and other lovely villages to visit.

We have just returned from an enjoyable stay at Bainbridge Ings. When we arrived we found the site to be very quiet and it appeared we were lucky to be able to pitch our caravan as it was very wet underfoot.
It was very windy while we were there and as you are situated on the fell side I would imagine this is quite common - just be prepared with strong pegs etc. The views however are wonderful and it is only a 15 minute walk into Hawes which we particularly liked. The toilet blocks were small but very clean and the owner was friendly without being overpowering. We visited the Crown in Hawes twice and enjoyed both the beer and food there. The walk across to Buttersett across the fields and up onto the fell tops is worth doing as is a visit to Swaledale via the Buttertubs Pass - the pub at Muker was particularly good.
Malham Cove/ Gordale Scar are also well worth A drive. We will definitely return at some point.

On arrival at the site we were greeted, given a map of the area and site rules (nothing strict, just basics. No noise after 11pm etc)
We set up our tent in the top field, which was quite soggy due to the fact it had rained all day. Ground was nice and soft, making light work pegging down our tent.
Pot washing area was nice and warm, with coin operated washer, clothes spinner and tumble drier. Toilets/shower block was always kept clean and tidy, although due to the time of year, and lack of heating in there, it was cold. Making showering a little fresh!
We paid £15 per night for 2 adults, and my only niggle was the coin operated showers. 20p got you 5 minutes of hot shower.
Now I know it's only 20p for the shower, but when you've paid £15 per night for use of the facilities, I couldn't help feel a little let down. I would rather have paid £15. 50 per night and not had to pay for the showers. And for the budding mathematicians out there, I know that would be 10p dearer, but I wouldn't feel like I was paying twice for use of the facilities!
Anyway. Niggles over, the site is located within walking distance of Hawes, and loved the views from the site, especially the baby lambs in the adjoining fields.
There's no play facilities on site for children, however, the tents are placed around the perimeter of the field, leaving plenty of grass for them to run around etc.
We had a lovely stay at the site, and would return in the near future. I just need to save up a few 20 pence pieces.

Another of our favourite sites.
Based on what was (is ?) a working farm this is a simple unspoilt camp site consisting of two fields of grass surrounded by dry stone walling and rolling stunning views / hills in all directions.
The owner is very pleasant and places the emphasis on your happiness and relaxation rather than some other sites that are more bothered about restrictive rules & regulations than your R&R.
The toilets and showers etc are very well maintained and there was always plenty of hot water and toiletries.
Hawes is lovely if a little commercialised.
There are several local pubs and the nearby Simonstone Hall if you are celebrating a special occasion.
If you want total relaxation, a nearby pint, pleasant atmosphere and beautiful surroundings then this is the site.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS.
A slight gripe!
Preferential pitch booking for the Tour de France for regular clients would have been very much appreciated.
