A nice site and well looked after, the showers toilets and facilities were kept very clean. The location was excellent and the close proximity to Combe Martin was very convenient. When leaving the site on foot or by car great care is needed as it is situated on a blind bend.
We enjoyed our stay but found it costly. £6 per day for wifi on top of the £210 pitch fee and £14 awning fee make this site very pricey (£266 for 1week) In comparison the Caravan Club charge £168 plus £25 per year for wifi.

Just back from 2 weeks at Newberry Valley. We had a 'super' pitch which was more than ample for our large unit (folding camper with awning) plus pup tent and two cars parked on the pitch. Still had plenty of grass for sitting/playing on.
Being in a valley the site is 'long and thin' and we were in field 4 (pitch 422) at the furthest extremity. This gave a peaceful pitch as no passing traffic except for others on our field but was a bit of a walk to the main loos and washing up block (about 4 mins). We did have some loos near us but no washing / washing up facilities.
Have to say the main look block was fabulous with showers like 'wet rooms' with their own loo and washbasin too. From memory there are 11 showers which meant that on a couple of occasions I had to wait a few minutes but nothing too bad. Dish washing area excellent too with plentiful hot water.
Other than a small playground on the site there isn't a lot else for kids to do (although they can have a daily ride on a trailer pulled by Ted Tractor!). The site was generally very peaceful with some nice walks (including around a small fishing lake). It is a very dog friendly site but this did not seem to cause any problems.
The staff worked tirelessly to maintain to site with the loos/showers rarely anything but spotless and the pitches being mowed within minutes of a departure.
It's a 5 min walk from the gate to the site to Combe Martin. This is a small town with relatively little to recommend it but has a small cove / beach with rock pools and caved to explore. We also rented Kayaks from the local shop which was fun.
All in all a very pleasant site. Not cheap but I guess that is what you pay for the level of attention it gets and the pitch size was excellent did not feel at all cheek-by-jowl.

We contacted this site as another site we were on at the time we weren't happy with, thank goodness we did the site is lovely, very well maintained and spotless.
I have to disagree with a previous comment about the staff being impersonal, we found them very friendly and chatty and interested in what you were upto, especially the wardens.
I do have to agree with the dangerous entrance to the site when coming back from the beach, it could be a little scary at times

Lovely site, friendly and well organised. From the moment we arrived we had a lovely welcome and were given all the information needed for the week. We had a great pitch and the toilet blocks were second to none, I have seen worse washrooms in some 3* hotels! Very close to Coombe Martin (Only 10 minutes when fully loaded for a day on the beach) really handy for other popular spots in North Devon, including Woolacombe and Croyde etc. The one thing I would say though is that getting back from Coombe Martin to the site you need to be really careful when crossing the road. The Pizza night is awesome (even though we hit a few delays with ours and had to wait a while!) Overall a great site, a little pricey, but worth the extra for the location and facilities. (Didn't get to the lake and our girls are a little too old for the playpark now but understand they are great standard as well. )

Difficult to write this review really, as can`t make my mind up about it!
We arrived two days late as a result of a journey where everything went wrong, and had paid top whack for a premium, hardstanding pitch, and that's what we got. Unfortunately it looked to have been a late addition as it wasn`t even on the site plan, and although of a good size we were pitched on what could be best described as rubble. There were some other premium pitches which were really good and well finished so if you get one you should be OK.
All in all, the site was clean and well maintained, and there was never any queueing for the facilities when we had occasion to use them. The bathrooms and shower rooms would be great for the families with youngsters.
Combe Martin has little in the way of shops for provisions so expect to travel, but there are a couple of pubs and tea rooms if you fancy eating out and walking back to the site, but care is needed by the site entrance.
We found the staff efficient but impersonal, and the site does absolutely everything it says on the tin.
One of those sites where you really struggle to find anything wrong, but doesn`t really entice you back.

Very nice site well kept but is also a steep site so would be hard for disabled, although all toilet/shower facilities are disabled friendly and of the highest standard. The lake can only be fished from about a dozen swims, the bus stop is about 10/15 minutes walk down the hill, but remember you have to go back up. Coombe martin is small but nice with a safe beach for the little ones, with plenty of rock pools to explore, you might be lucky and see a dolphin from the beach.

We had an enjoyable long weekend here. The warden on arrival was friendly and helpful giving info about the area.
The grass pitches were well kept with wildlife encouraged around the edges with verges and hedges being allowed to grow naturally. Our pitch was large and flat.
The facilities were of a very good standard with individual bathroom type rooms of two corridors and were kept very clean. There is a good dog walk on site and also walking directly from the site from the footpath opposite the site entrance.
Combe Martin is a short stroll from the site with a few pubs, shops and fish and chip shop.
I wouldn't hesitate to return to this site.

A gem of a campsite - peaceful, great location, staff friendly - all pitches tiered so privacy really good - we did not need to put our windscreen blind on as we were not overlooked, planting done really well, road outside needs care but footpath opposite takes you to beach and town without the need to walk on the road, will definitely be back, the tranquillity was lovely

This is one of the best campsites that I have stayed at, The shower block are first rate, best I have ever seen. Location is good but watch out for traffic if walking to and from the village. The hard standing pitch I was on was very uneven I needed 3 levelling blocks. Good bus links to the sounding area, I wound highly recommend this campsite.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at this camp site and found it to be an excellent site. The facilities were spotless including showers, toilets, washing up facilities and the laundry. Although we didn't use it they even have a bath and previously camped ( many years ago) with three young children I would imagine the bath would be very useful. The showers were roomy although the water temperature could have been a little warmer this did not distract from the overall excellence of the facilities. The campsite itself is well presented with friendly and helpful staff. The site is a short walk to the small town of Combe Martin which has shops, several pubs and beach. The site is on a nasty bend of a fairly busy road so care is needed but again does not distract from the overall quality of the site. We would definitely return and whist the site is not the cheapest it does give value for money because of the excellent facilities. Sadly we didn't get to hear the wolves howling. The only reason I have not given 10 out of 10 is because I think the shower temperature could be improved.
