We stayed at Newberry Valley May bank Holiday week with my sister and her family.
The site is set in a valley with beautiful views and is very peaceful. We were pitched next to the fishing lake which pleased my brother-in-law as he is a keen fisherman.
The pitches are a good size and very level. The washrooms were the best I've ever seen, all in one wet room/basin/loo, heated flooring, music, I also had a bath one night!
The staff were super friendly especially Gail & Jim who came to see us every day to make sure everything was ok, and to keep me in check!
It was a 10 minute stroll into Coombe Martin with lovely little gift shops, cafes and pubs. Ilfracombe is about 3 miles away & Woolacombe a little bit further, well worth a visit.
Dogs are not allowed on Coombe Martin beach but Newberry beach is just around the corner.
We have been camping now for 5 years and this is by far the best site we have stayed on.
We cannot wait to return to this gem of a site.

Best site we have ever stayed at. Perfectly clean and luxurious toilet block. Their Woodland walk during April is fantastic (full of Bluebells Primroses and Wild Garlic. Beach very close walking distance. And was not at all expensive. Considering the quality of the site. I give it 10/10 The biggest problem is not one of the camping site ! But of the local council. They really ought to provide a pavement/path to the site, a must if you have small children. How ever there is a safer way to get to the village. There is a footpath just about opposite the camposite. It leads right down to the beach, so go down to the beach, then up some steps and you'll find yourself quite close to the village (plenty shops and pubs ) Cant wait to go back there. :-) :-)

Can't say enough about this site, The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. The facilities were very clean, place right for the site, it's an ECO site and the grounds are very dark at night, The grounds are well kept, lovely large pitches, The lake has some very nice fish in it, just planning a return visit,

When I originally booked, the reception staff were very helpful and were again when I rang to alter dates, but one of the staff seemed a little officious when we were actually on site, however all the others were very nice.
I would second all the previous comments regarding the site, the toilet and shower facilities are good, although some separate toilets would be good, especially in the mornings as people take longer when the washing facilities are in the toilet cubicles.
Some of the pitches did not appear to be level and may pose a problem for tents. We were a party of 6 mixed units and had a small field to ourselves which was very good, however it was fairly expensive.
We heard the wolves howling most days but didn't visit them, we did go to Woolacombe twice and Combe Martin twice. We also visited Chambercombe Manor, an interesting tour but we weren't really into the ghost stories!
Sunday lunch at The Royal Marine pub was excellent, especially in view of the fact there were 16 of us!
An easy walk to Combe Martin but no footpath at the entrance to the site so care is needed with little ones.

A last minute decision and we (a couple) ended up at Newberry Valley Park. The reviews don't lie, it is a super park. The facilities block is amazingly clean and has extensive facilities. The pitches are large and generally flat. Staff are friendly and Ted the tractor + Scooby doo brilliant for the kids. Luckily we got the good bank holiday weather & was tempted just to chill at the campsite all day ! Be warned about pedestrian access to the site going down to Coombe Martin there is no footpath and its on a blind bend so you need to keep your eyes open !
Will definitely return as is now our fave campsite in the area.

Just returned from Newberry Valley and I cannot say enough positive things about the site. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we even spoke with the owners on many occasions. The facilities are the best we have seen, ideal for families as the shower rooms are ideal for young children. Everything was spotless and we had a great pitch.
The site was very secure and the local town is also nice, great little surf shops and a great deli. We originally only booked for four nights but we enjoyed it that much we booked for a further three nights. Plenty to do around the area. Would recommend the beaches.
Nothing but positive and we would definitely visit again and recommend to family and friends.

What an amazing site. Just spent 14 nights here and enjoyed every day/night. The toilet/shower facilities were the best that we have used and are great for families.
The playground was great for our daughter who made some new friends, and once we were back on site never saw her until meal/bedtimes, (the peace and quiet was lovely).
Credits must go to all of the staff for keeping the site in such a lovely condition and were friendly, chatty and helpful when needed.
The local village of coombe martin was only a 6/7 min walk away via a public footpath opposite the entrance. The beach was nice, the rockpools were brill and the shops and pubs were really handy.
The Wolf Centre was well worth the visit, Shaun and Kim made the visit really interesting and put everybody at ease when visiting the wolfs, and to hear and see them howling up close was brill.
Would we recommend the site/area most definitely.
Would we return, as soon as possible.

Just returned from our 3rd visit to this site and once again were not disappointed.
The toilet block is still one of the best I've ever seen and cannot fault it for cleanliness.
The staff were very helpful and always friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble to them.
Combe Martin itself is a very well kept village with a good selection of pubs, restaurants and shops.
We will probably book again for next year as the peace and quiet of the site is just what we like.

What a gorgeous site and amazing facilities. We had mainly visited for the visit to the wolf centre but this is definitely worth a few days visit.
Site is set in a lovely valley and all the pitches look spacious and well set out.
Staff were really helpful and friendly and we had been quickly settled in
The toilet and shower facilities are amazing. I have never come across better
Fishing lake looked well stocked but didn't fish to know (too hot)
Just slightly dear as we weren't camping and caravan members (so normal £10 more!)
10 minute walk down to Combe Martin bay which isn't the biggest but great for looking in rock pools and enough sand to play about in.
Just be careful on the first 20 yards on leaving the site on the walk down as it is on a corner and no path.

My husband and I and our two young children (aged 5 and 2) stayed at this site for a week in our tent and would recommend it very highly. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The site itself had excellent, clean facilities. These were especially well laid out for families- spacious wet room style showers with lots of hooks made it easy to take care of both small children at the same time without getting soaking wet myself! The site is really pretty and peaceful. The only real noise after 9pm came from the wolves howling at the neighbouring sanctuary, which was pretty special. We especially enjoyed star gazing whilst enjoying a beer or two outside the tent and the children loved watching the sheep in the adjoining field, the free tractor rides with 'Scooby Doo', the playground and the delicious fresh croissants the shop ordered us in for breakfast. Activities that we'd recommend in the area for families include a visit to Woolacombe beach, a ride on the steam trains from Woody Bay or Minehead, a visit to Lynton and Lynmouth, a visit to Arlington Court (family friendly National Trust property with excellent gardens and woodlands), the aquarium and soft play at Ilfracombe in case of horrendous weather and best of all watching the sunset on Combe Martin beach- an easy walk from the site, even for little ones!
