Our first visit to this campsite and it was absolutely lovely.
A little more expensive site than I would usually go to but it was worth it. The site was spotless, quiet with a beautiful lake and only a five minute walk from Combe Martin.
The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help.
The only downside of the site was despite paying for the premium pitch, the toilets were a long walk and there was no lighting at night. It looked like a new toilet block and shower block were being built which is good news and the current ones were a little dated and could be a little smelly.
When we were there the site was very quiet, probably before the school holiday rush. Well worth a visit if you want a quiet camping experience. There was also lots of very tame rabbits and ducks on the site, which was really sweet.
The shop was fine and stocked good quality basics; could have done with being open a little later.
To sum up,a beautiful site, quite expensive but if a quiet break on a quality site is what you want, Newberry is worth a visit.

The staff were helpful when we needed help. It's a good location, nice views from the campsite. Plenty of hot water in the showers. The lake is nice too walk to. They cut the grass most days when we were there for a week, which was too much noise. Our pitch was not level. The pitch was expensive compared to some sites.

Our first serious family camping trip - a full two weeks at this fantastic site.
Staff very friendly - they really cannot do enough for you. We opted for a Premier pitch - a larger area complete with electricity (we didn't use) and picnic table (very handy). Toilets and showers always clean (they even play Classic FM so you can wake up slowly and in relaxed fashion).
The children were able to cycle to the toilet block, there is a small playground which is discretely located and a fishing lake (well fenced off so no danger to little ones). The duckings came to our tent for scraps on more than one occasion.
We have camped at this site before (23 years ago and then again 10 years ago). The location is good, no issues when it rains and we have returned ready to book for next year. If you are planning a holiday to N Devon I can strongly recommend this campsite.

The site is very well laid out with strips of plots on several different tiers. Excellent views of the valley can be enjoyed however sea views are limited.
The staff were the friendliest I've met whilst camping yet!
The facilities are very well maintained and the water is always piping hot. The toilets are always clean.
Fantastic site and staff.

Camped here early july, the weather was great.
This is a lovely site, well positioned,a 5 minute walk from the beach, pubs, restaurants and shops of coombe martin.
The site itself is very well maintained with good sized tent pitches. The shower / toilet block were always kept clean and tidy.
The site wardens were very helpful and friendly.
We shall definitely return.

A lovely peaceful site tucked in a beautiful valley. Everyone was very friendly and it had a very relaxed feel to the place. The toilets and showers were lovely and clean. They even had music playing in them!
My only criticism of the place was that the grounds maintenance chaps were constantly strimming and mowing which spoiled the peace somewhat. Also, although the fishing lake was well stocked with fish, it was full of weed, making fishing pretty impossible.
Despite this, we had a super holiday and would definitely return.

We stayed for 4 nights in late June at this site. It was very quiet and for 3 nights we had a field to ourselves! They have several different size pitches, the superior pitch with a picnic table and EHU is a very good idea especially if you have children, The warden very kindly let us use the table for a very small charge as we hadn't booked the superior site but were very near.
The facilities are good not fantastic but perfectly adequate, although they are a very long and uneven walk if you are on the far field.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Sheep are noisy so take some earplugs if you are camping! Each field has bricks to enable you to bbq without harming the grass.
Its a very short walk into the centre of Combe Martin and a 5 mile drive to Ilfracombe. Maybe consider taking the bus to Ilfracombe as the parking is quite expensive unless you use the long stay by the harbour which means quite a long walk to the centre. There are only 2 small shops in Combe Martin and they are not open after 8pm so beware.

Newberry is a decent campsite situated in a superb location. The entrance is on a tight bend with no pavement where few drivers waste valuable brake fluid slowing down for unseen campers, so be careful.
Once you've negotiated the road, opposite the entrance to the site is an overgrown path which takes you down to a small pebble beach. Great for rock climbing.
At low tide, this beach joins up with the main Coombe Martin beach and reveals loads of sand.
Following the road round to the right brings you to Coombe Martin which is a pleasant village where beer, ice-cream and other essentials can be enjoyed.
The campsite itself is adequate. We paid £17 a night for 2 Adults and 1 Child and stayed on the basic pitch area on the entrance side of the toilet blocks.
The toilets/showers were ok. A bit dated but everything worked.
The warden is a decent enough fellow, who's humour is best described as arid.
Little shop at the entrance has the usual limited choices at slightly inflated prices - so stock up, or visit the Spar in town.
There's a hookup area on the other side of the toilet block for those that need it - and a dog-walking area just below. Further inland is a fishing lake and a play area.
Further inland still is the pretty village of Berrynarbor and if you like flowerpot men, then this is the place for you.
I would recommend to anyone, especially families for a pleasant site with peace and quiet just walking distance from everything you need.

This is a very well situated campsite, with easy walking access to the beach and town. The facilities are good, with free hot water and a shop on site. Negative points were that we found the toilets and washing up area were not very clean. The dish washing area was absolutely covered in dead flies, when we arrived, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. Also the ground has absolutely no drainage so gets very muddy.
Overall, it is a cost-effective site for a few days stay in a great central location however the general up-keep of the park are in need of some TLC.

Online and via leaflets this campsite looked great; green space, play area, close to beach etc but I have to say we were slightly disappointed.
It was very muddy when we arrived, not surprising after a soggy summer but the situation of the site ( in a valley as you would expect! ) meant it didn't seem to dry out fast, even on dry days.
Also, it's a very long shaped site so the pitches are on terraces with no real green space for children to play other than directly next to the tents. The play area was basic to say the least and down a very muddy path across a stream so not really safe to let little ones down there unsupervised. When I asked the staff if we could go to the fishing lake I was told the land didn't strictly belong to them so not quite sure what that's about!
Staff very friendly and helpful with a shop that stocked all the necessaries, though camping gas would have been a good addition!
Plentiful hot water for the showers though a queue quickly builds up in the ladies at busy times.
Nice easy walk down the path to the beach.
