Picked this site as we wanted to re visit Combe Martin like we did 30 years ago. However the village has changed so much over the years very disappointed.
The site staff were super friendly and nothing was too much effort for them it seemed. Visiting in late September we found the site to be getting ready for the shutdown and showers were luke warm to cold at best.
The pitches although huge in size were worn out and the weeks heavy rain didn't help. We left early on the Thursday morning (the only dry day) as dragging mud into the van was getting too much.
A nice little site on the website but in reality was worn out.

Fantastic site that is really beautiful. Very peaceful and dog and family friendly.
You can order local groceries and pizza.
The play area, lake walk and alpacas are also lovely.

Wonderful campsite with great facilities.
Plenty of showers, loos, washing up and laundry facilities.
Shop on site, and all the staff were lovely.
Easy walk to the beach. Plenty of beaches in short driving distance if you want a change.
Quiet, friendly site. No music being played.
Everything was lovely, if you were a party of one tent.
If you are a few tents then be aware it will be car, tent, car, tent and in that order. If you want to have the tents together then this isn't possible.
But if it's just one tent, then this site is pretty much perfect.

The site is tucked along the side of a valley just on the outskirts of Combe Martin, with this in mind the site is long and narrow, terraced and has some quite steep roadways, a one way system is in operation around the site which makes getting around it easy however, some of the roads on site are not in great condition.
The site speed limit is 10 mile an hour and this seemed to be rarely kept to and on one occasion we witnessed someone travelling at least 20mph. This was flagged to the wardens at the time.
We have a large twin axle caravan and it just fitted on the pitch allocated, with our A frame just off the road by a matter of inches, so the speed of some travellers was alarming, it also meant that we didn't dare use the awning door at the top end of the awning as it exited so close to the road. Speed ramps would be a useful addition to slow down the traffic.
Apart from this the site is very pleasant, and well maintained, the toilet/shower block is situated in the middle of the campsite, all are unisex and each cubicle had a shower, toilet and handbasin. I believe there was also a bathroom.
Also housed in the block was a laundry and dishwash area. A one way system was in operation for Covid security, although this didn't seem to be regarded by all guests. The area was kept very clean by the wardens as were the grounds.
The rubbish bins and chemical toilet disposal are also in this area. I would have like to have seen more bins located around the site as it is a bit of a trek if you are located at either end of the site.
There is a lovely secure dog exercise area, as it is in the valley it is a very steep field, but the view from the top of it is great and our dogs certainly enjoyed running around in it.
The wardens were all very friendly and took time to stop and chat and clearly took pride in keeping the site nice.
We were booked as part of a group and sadly we were not sited together. This did take the shine off our holiday a bit as we had initially paid our deposit in 2019 to go in 2020 and had to rebook, it would have been nice if the site had been a bit more organised and able to put us all together, they had had plenty of notice that we were coming.
Unless this was done intentionally because they thought we would be disruptive if all sited together. Although with the average age of our group being well above 60 I don't think this would have been the case!
Combe Martin is a 10 minute walk away, dogs are not allowed on the main beach from May to September but Newberry Cove which is just across the road from the site is dog friendly and great for rock pooling.
Overall this was a nice site and well situated for exploring North Devon and Exmoor

Stayed on pitch Ash 12 which seemed lovely when we arrived in the sunshine. However the weather deteriorated and rained every day. The rain ran under the awning and flooded it with mud. We were sleeping in there as we had friends in the van. I asked 2 wardens if they had anything for us to cover the floor with but never heard back from them.
The night the electricity went off a lady came round to check on us and we mentioned the flooding. She came back a little while later with rubber matting.
Just wanted to say thank you to her for taking us seriously and helping us out.
Also not very good reception on TV on that plot, just managed to see England win.
I'm sure everything would have been so much better if the sun had been shining, which of course is not under your control, even the long walk to the amenities which were very nice.

Travelled here with friends, 2 touring caravans. Lovely little campsite in Combe Martin. The amenities were well kept and very clean.
The campsite as a whole was very well looked after. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Lovely fishing lake with some whoppers in it!
Combe Martin is a beautiful place with a lovely bay with cafes looking out on to the sea and beach.
We hired Kayaks and went on a tour around the beaches nearby, absolutely stunning.

We had an excellent sized pitch, in fact most pitches were above average size. The whole camp was surrounded by greenery and set in its own small valley.
The staff were friendly and always helpful. The site was well maintained and facilities clean and to a high standard.
You could pre-order from the reception for products from the local bakery or butchers to be delivered there for pick up the next day.
The village was an easy walk from the campsite as was the access to the coastal path.
The beach was ideal for launching kayaks with two car parks within 100 yards, an early start recommended as the car parks soon become busy.
We stayed for 7 nights and will definitely book in again if in that area.

Excellent site, pitch was on a bit of a slop but not a problem, the site is terraced.
Facilities excellent and kept really clean, lovely large shower rooms.
Nice gentle stroll into Combe Martin where there are pubs and shops, would recommend the Dolphin.
Meat and bakery ordered at reception from local farm really good. Pizza available twice a week would highly recommend,
We don't usually say we will go back to a site as we like to try different areas but we will go back to this one.

Excellent location, a couple of minutes walk down to Combe Martin bay and then the wider village with shops and pubs just beyond. Great base for short trips to Ilfracombe, Westwood Ho! and Appledore and beyond.
The site itself is very well kept with a natural vibe as opposed to being manicured to within an inch of its life. There is a pleasant walk around the lake and day fishing if you want it.
The facilities blocks are kept regularly cleaned and maintained. The staff and owners are friendly and very helpful without being intrusive.
The site is a very quiet and calm environment in a beautiful setting and is dog friendly.
We had a seasonal pitch on this site and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Obviously our time there was subject to some Covid restrictions but the owners could not have tried harder to make things work as well as possible. And acted with great integrity.
I thoroughly recommend this site whether for a short or longer stay.
