What a beautiful friendly campsite. It was immaculate, and the facilities were first class.

We went just after the site reopened from Covid and was very pleased with the standard of cleaning and safety measures in place.

Only a 5 minute walk to the beach and Combe Martin. All the staff were helpful and loved to stop and chat to us.

I can't wait to book again.

Very pleasant site, with very sensible and practical Covid 19 arrangements.

Beautiful fishing lake, but the big carp were hard to tempt.

Bins overflowing when I first went to dispose of rubbish.

Quiet even though quite busy.

Helpful and pleasant staff.

Nice big pitches, friendly staff, quiet in the evenings, ie no big groups or parties all night, excellent clean facilities, cant really fault it.

It felt like a more premier campsite rather than your average field and I think this is reflected in the price.

I liked the eco aspect, little herb garden for your bbq needs and abundant wildlife.

Well maintained site and nicely laid out giving privacy. Facilities very good even a bath should you wish one! Nice view of alpacas and chickens. Good fishing lake on site.

Easy walk to beach and village with shops and restaurants. Literally on the SW coast path so excellent for walking.

Very helpful and friendly site. Hope to return some time.

What can I say about this camp site, it was just wonderful.

Nice large paved hardstanding pitches, and a picnic table per pitch, with well kept grass. Lovely friendly staff, who even helped us manoeuvre our van into place.

Our pitch had the all-in-one facility, a tap, electric point, night light and grey water drain all built in, very convenient. Lovely clean showers, with large family rooms. Wasn't that impressed with the surrounding area, pleasant enough but lacking somehow.

Coombe Martin is a sweet little place, nice chip shop by the little car park. Ilfracombe could do with a makeover, a bit tired. Barnstaple is better and a good day out, nice town. Croyde and Saunton Sands are beautiful.

Tried the on site fishing and caught nothing. There is apparently a 30 pounder in the pond, but no sign of a carp when I was there. £6 a day ticket.

There's also Mill Park, a few minutes up the road toward Ilfracombe, they have day tickets, same price, better fishing there.

Newburyvalley is a great little find in Combe Martin really friendly staff with nothing too much trouble for them.

The showers are clean with plenty of hot water, there is a great indoor vegetable chopping area and separate washing up area which is great when the weather isn’t too good.

There is a book swop area and items left from previous visitors to use if you forgot your bucket and spades etc.

They have even done a herb garden for you to help yourself free and you can buy free range eggs

Well worth a visit

We don't normally do large sites but this one was a pleasure. The site was over a large area and terraced. Views of countryside all around. Facilities spotless and very customer friendly. Showers ace.

Just across the main road was a footpath down to Combe Martin. A really lovely site and location. Thank you.

Having chosen the site based on a combination of its' location, excellent environmental credentials and the universally acclaimed bathroom facilities, it was a real shame that we were deprived of making full use of the latter by a problem with the hot water for the last 3 days of our stay. At times, there was no hot water at all and we resorted to boiling the kettle on our camp stove in order to do the washing up. Arguably we were unlucky but it's not the sort of service you expect when paying premium rates.

Personally, I'm also not a fan of allocated pitches unless the site is genuinely full or sold out which it definitely wasn't. Particularly annoying when a flatter and larger pitch in the same section of the site remains empty for the entire duration of your stay.

That aside, the site is generally well maintained and the location itself is excellent. It's just a few minutes walk to the beach and into Combe Martin with almost direct access onto the South West Coast Path. Handy bus service to Ilfracombe which is a lovely resort and well worth a visit. Very small shop on site and a convenience store in the village - nearest supermarket is Tesco in Ilfracombe.

Loads to do in the surrounding area - walks on Exmoor, beautiful Lynton / Lymouth and its' extraordinary water-powered railway, great beaches and coves, plenty of activities (kayaks, coasteering, wake-boarding etc. ) and we'd definitely come back, just not to this site.
