This is the second time we have visited this site. The location is fantastic, we park the car up when we arrive and walk to the beach and shops each day (takes 10 -15 minutes). The owners are really friendly and helpful and it is excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a traditional seaside break. The site is flat and very well maintained and has some all weather and some grass pitches for tents. I think all the caravan pitches are hard standing. There is lots of room around your tent. There are some electric hookup pitches. The shower block, washing up and washing facilities are kept really clean. The showers are very hot. There is a nice large playground and games field and a dog walk. It is situated right near the golf course and 10 minutes walk from the park where there are basketball hoops, boating lake, trampolines, cafe, crazy golf, large nice modern playground and lots of grass to run around on. Filey beach itself is lovely for families - there are donkey rides, cafes, ice creams, bucket and spade shop, large toilets, beach huts to rent, etc. The town has a variety of shops and restaurants. I cant see what else you could want really! Filey's ace!

Just to add my recommendation. Excellent site, quiet, pretty (the photos on this site don't do it justice) well manicured, hard working owners, large pitches, lots of room, toilets clean, and fantastic location. It is a pleasant 10 or 15 minutes walk to the beach - we did it with our 3 year olds. Great for families.
I have one gripe and that's the showers - which unlike the rest of the site aren't toddler friendly. There are no taps - its just 50p in and water comes out at set temperature for 5 minutes or so, from a head fixed to the wall and they can fluctuate in temperature. If they are too hot for your toddler, then you cannot alter them, or even turn them off (maybe to soap them down then briefly wash it off), or bring the head down low to just do their legs etc. They are fixed in every way. Its the sort of thing you can get by with, but they are just awkward.
Don't let it put you off going, because the rest of the site makes up for it - I'm writing this in the hope that the owners read this and can do something about it before we go back!

Lovely site, very spacious pitches. Took 2 boys (ages 11 and 9) play area large enough to keep them out of mischief!. Filey was a short walk from site an earlier posting called it poo alley? we thought it was fairly clean. On site everything kept clean and tidy, toilet blocks clean, though by mid morning all the toilet roll disappeared! and the music was very pleasant. One draw back was some young couples who insisted everyone listened to there (if you can call it) music! but it did go off by 9.30pm. Overall I would recommend it to anyone wanting a 3 or 4 night break, ideal for families, booked to go back in August.

We have been going to Filey for more years than I can remember but this is the first time we have been to this site. It will be the one to use in future. The site is peaceful and relaxing with some nice views, it is well kept and the units are not stacked side by side like some sites. The grass is very well kept and the caravan touring pitches well marked out. The toilet block is very clean and well laid out, the flowers and music are a personal touch I have never seen elsewhere. There is a play area for children away from the camping units with enough space for them to play football. There is also a nice area for walking dogs. The owners are very nice and were always helpful and pleasant, even the dog was friendly - especially if you stroked it. The site is a very pleasant walk from the town or beach and there are numerous car boot sales and markets within the area.

What a wonderful little camp site, this was our first outing of 2007 and I have to say a very pleasing one. We were in a tent, and the pitches was very well laid out, Toilets were cleaned throughout the day, showers and sink area also very clean, There is a nice washing up area for your pots and pans and even a washing machine and a freezer to keep your chill boxes cold. The kids pay area was a bonus, our 3 yrs twin boys had a ball and as mentioned in previous reviews the field is big enough for several games of football, rounders, or cricket to take place at the same time without getting in each others way. Great for wearing the kids out just before bed time. The site was a credit to it's owners, well done 10/10 we will be back later in the year !

Well I'm 14 years old and after living on this campsite all my life, and seeing the progress and changes its made I would definatley RECOMMEND it! First of all my mum and dad work sooo hard and still manage to be nice to you lucky lot. When you lot are on holiday, they're slaving away trying to run a campsite - not easy! So please be nice, I know most of you are. And all those who call your self campers then complain about tracing paper toilet roll, really need to get your priorities right. We don't have that anymore and the toilet block has been refurbished. It wasn't that bad anyway, just think it's sort of two in one, you could wipe your butt and doodle on it while you're waiting. The only reason we had it anyway was because some thief kept stealing the soft one. Any how with the showers hot and now non- temperamental and soft loo role you have nothing to worry about. We also have a cool dog walk and a dog for matter of fact. Also if you feel like ditching your kids just leave them at the play park . Thankyou and please come and visit!

What a fantastic site, came with hubby and 2 teenage kids they loved it. Lovely clean toilets and shower block, only a small wash area for amount of people. Tents are on the back pitch where caravans / motorhomes on a well spaced pitch. Nice park area and grassed area for football etc. Very safe site if you bring younger children, nice dog area wooded forest like a maze. Lovely easy gentle walk to beach take your bags, chairs etc with you and go sit relax on beach, only 15mins along a nice alleyway but watch out for dog poo, we called it poo alley. It's the same distant to the shops as well. Most of indian and chinese takeaways will deliver to the site. I fully reccomend it bigs thumbs up.

I spent 2 weeks here recently while I was in the area and while it is indeed a small site on the coast there is not much more you could want, the owners where very nice, the dog was a bit shy at first but soon warmed to the idea that I dont bite :P the coast was very close, just beyond a golf course and Filey was about 10 minutes walk for me.
There is a great cliffside walk from Filey to Scarborough (i am sure a seagull was laughing at me because I had been walking all day and getting quite tired), and in the other direction to Bridlington (though I never got that far) although I would take care in windy conditions which I discovered after deciding to wander out onto the cliff penisula nearby on the windiest day of the month. I have never tried it but I am quite sure I have all the natural grace of a falling elephant from 300 feet if my coat did decide to act as a parasail :P
There is a great deal of birdsong around the site which was like an early morning alarm set at 6am though not too intrusive to become a great annoyance, you actually start to try to predict which bird will tweet next and what call it will be. Lol
The toilet and shower block is very clean and well maintained with shaver points and the showers cost 50p for around 10 minutes.
Although I wasnt driving the site is located just off the main road and signposted so you cannot help but find it quite easily.
There is a small childrens playground in the next field over, and a field to play football in next to the main camping area it will not be really nessesary as you have about 2 miles of beach to play with and most of it is dog-friendly except for directly in front of the promenade in the may-sept months, who knows.you may see a couple of seals mooching about just offshore as I did numerous times :)
Besides the obvious arcade and usual bouncy castle on the seafront there unforetunately isnt that much to do in Filey by way of entertainment beyond the various karaokes and singers performing in the pubs nearby yet with Scarborough so close with its sealife center, ancient castle on the hill (£4 for adults), and multiple other places to see you cant really go far wrong.
If the site had only one downside I would have to say that the tent area has no lighting (an advantage or not depending on viewpoint) and as I am an avid reader due to sun going down at about 7:45pm when I was there unforetunately so would my book as I has stupidly left my torch at home and was too stubborn to buy a cheap replacement lol
All in all I would recommend this site most definitely to my friends who want to spend a weekend mooching around the Yorkshire coast for a few days :)

This was our first visit to the park but not our last as we had an brilliant time there during our four day stay. The site was very easy to find, sitting between the resorts of Bridlington and Filey and had everything we required including electric hook up, which was connected with the tent next door in a lovely small area holding our two tents slightly away from the non hook up tents. The ground was flat and dry despite a rain lashed August. The owners where great and on hand to help at all times. The site is only a 7 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes into the clean resort of Filey. Other bonus points included the washer / dryer room and a lean to holding several sinks to wash up. Also included in the drying room was maps of the area and a selection of takeaway menus who deliver to the camp, which came in very handy. On a downside the showers where the worst I’ve come across camping, one minute freezing cold, the next scalding hot, be careful with the kids. The hand basins where fine though and music from Yorkshire Coast Radio played from 8am till 11am as you washed. Overall I would give the site nine out of ten, message to the manager though please sort the showers. We will be back next year though as its perfect from our home in Doncaster. Richard, Clare and James Bailey from Doncaster Ps the showers cost 50p as does the dryer!

How nice to have a large enough pitch to not have to worry about being too close to neighbours, and good flat pitches too. Even after rain (heavy!) we still had no underfoot water so good drainage. I wish all sites would be more pro-active about noise after 10pm, but can't believe the number of parents who let their young children scream around at that time. There was also a bit of late night and early morning noise from adjoining youth association site - but there you go. Nice that they have left space for children to play. Soft toilet paper available now in all toilets. Excellent beach and fossil hunting and overall a very good site - we'd go back with our three (9,7,18 months).
