Have just stayed at this site (1st time) in two large family tents with myself, hubby, my 18 yr old daughter, her partner, my 5 yr old daughter and my 3 yr old disabled son, in one tent and my sister, her husband and three children aged 6, 8,and 12 yrs in the other The pitches were a really good size, we still had plenty of room around us for the children to play. We all had a fabulous time. Site owners were really friendly and helpful. Toilet / shower / pot washing facilities were absolutely brilliant, very very clean and tidy. We will definitely be back next year 10/10.

Had tried to book this site before but always full. The staff are friendly and the shop although small has all the essentials you might have forgot.
When my son saw play area, was not impressed at first, small but perfectly formed I would say, he still loved it.
New toilet block has everything, family showers too other block looked brand new to me too , kept clean at all times.
There is a stream running through site which is nice to here. The site was quite and when night fell you definitely know your in the countryside as it is what we call dicki dark and lovely and quiet.
The surrounding area is lovely some good walks and ten mins into the village. The pubs get booked up if you want a meal so do that straight away.
Will be back if we can get in. Can see why though

Just returned from 5 days at this lovely site. Really impressed with this site, the owners were really friendly and helpful, toilet blocks were always clean. My 5 year old daughter made loads of friends within ten minutes of arriving and she loved the park although some more sand in the sand pit and a couple of swings would have made all the difference. The camp shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. We met a lot of nice people who were only to willing to help me push my caravan onto my pitch as my reversing skills arent up to much. The only down side to this site is the access through the village it was a nightmare for me as I have a large caravan but I havent got much experience with towing so that could have been the problem.I will definitely return to this site it is one of the best I have ever stayed on.

This is our second visit to this site - and I love it. Site not too big. The toilets/showers are really clean & warm. Both times we have been pitched near the showers & washing up and it is not too noisy plus you can keep an eye on the kids in the play area - they are out in the morning and we dont see them again until they are hungry!
The shop is stocked with essentials and the site is only a short walk from Osmotherley to get your morning papers.
Would really recommend this site its great.

This campsite is fantastic. We were on pitch 64 which was opposite the play area and great for the kids to go and play. We didnt see the kids much all weekend as they made so many friends they didnt want our company.
The pitch was very muddy when we arrived due to the heavy rain all week but we put our groundsheet over the worst and forgot about it. The ground dried pretty well with a day of warm weather.
The toilets were spotless even though it was muddy on the site. I saw the owners cleaning the toilets twice on our first evening there.
The location of the site was ideal as it is in a lovely valley with a stream running through it.
The walk into Osmotherly takes about 20 mins. Went to Queen Catherine Hotel for a meal one night which was ok but nothing to write home about.
WE will definitely return to this site as it is wonderful for families.

This is a lovely site, well laid out in several areas, with a stream running through the middle. The showers & loo facilities are spread across 2 modern and spotlessly clean blocks (with fresh flowers no less, nice touch), and there's a proper bathroom to use for those with young kids. The onsite shop seems well stocked, and the kids playground had a climbing frame, slide, see-saw and sandpit.
Our 2 kids both had a great time on this site, with our 5 year old making a bunch of new friends very easily with, as others have said, the site's efforts to keep those with kids together on the site - a good plan. Indeed even we grown ups had a lot of fun with various kids in an impromptu game of mini-cricket in the rain! Alas the rain on the days we stayed did turn our grass pitch pretty muddy, so we'd have preferred to have hardstanding (next time we'll book that but none available this time).
But in summary, we'd recommend this site in an instant. Its really friendly, got a great mix of tents, caravans, motorhomes and a few statics, modern and clean facilities, a bit of 'wildlife' on site via loads of rabbits, and is very close to a very nice nearby village with pubs, village shop and a chippie. Highly recommended.

* Nice site, great location, quite peaceful, though it was busy.
* Weather was awful, it has been raining everyday, so pitches became very muddy (I wouldn't like to pitch on the one we have just left). Pitch 62, massive pitch for our large family tent right next to the shower and washing up facilities which was ideal in the weather and not as noisy as I expected it would be.
* Our first night/day was spoilt by our neighbours who spent much of it swearing and shouting at their toddler who then spent much of it crying as a result, I was pleased when they left, others around also commented on the language.
* Brilliant showers, temperature perfect not too hot that you cannot stand in them, particular good for our 4 year old. Even tried the bath which is a great plus. Best ones we have used, plenty of room and underfloor heating, very regularly cleaned, considering the weather were always clean.
* Childrens play area was quite small with a climbing frame with ropes and slide. A sand pit was available but was totally waterlogged, not really suitable for little ones and some swings would be great.
* Would benefit from a place to play ball games as not really much space on pitches to play cricket etc so kids had to play around tents which is ok if you have friendly neighbours who want to join in.
* Very friendly staff and shop sold the basics and was reasonably priced.
* Had one meal out at the Queen Catherine Pub in Osmotherley which was nice. It cost £4.25 for a kids meal and anything from £7.50 + for a main meal. Puddings were £3.95 and we had a brownie with icecream and I thought the price was expensive for what you received.
* a visit to Cod Beck is a must with kids (Park in the second car park), take the fishing nets and a change of clothes as they will love splashing in the stream and it is a nice walk around there too.
* Northallerton is good for shops, it has Woolworths and Tesco etc.
I would like to go back to this site but in the sunshine.

This was a very busy site that was noisy during late evening. It was well maintained and showers and toilets were very clean. Site was in a lovely setting with plenty of places for walking. Lovely village near to site. Shop on site was open all day and staff were very helpful and friendly.

Easy to find site just off A19. Village beautiful with lovely real ale pubs and campsite didn't disappoint. Good family site. Once we had pitched in a nice spacious pitch our children disappeared to the play area to return ten minutes later with about fifteen friends.
Owner friendly and helpful and ran a well stocked shop. Toilets and showers clean. Quiet, peaceful site. We were very impressed.

Just returned from a 3 night stay here, the only thing that disappointed us was the weather! Lovely site and although it was full it didn`t feel crowded at all. Great laundry room, just what you need for drying kids wellies after they have been playing in the river. Shower blocks were very clean and always had hot water. The shop is well stocked and very reasonably priced. We will definitely go back.
