Well what can I say apart from a great site! just a couple of miles from A19 and well singposted
The owners are really friendly and helpful and have a well stocked shop.
The pitches all have electric and a a great size
The toilet/shower facilities were always clean and regularly checked too.
The kids play area is good and visitors with kids seem to be put in this area which is ideal.
Theres a nice walk to the resvervoir (take fishing nets only 99p from camp shop) a great setting for a picnic on a nice day and the kids had a paddle in the water too.
My only criticism is the shop didnt open till 9am,no milk for my cuppa, but who can complain at that!
Will be there again very soon!

This campsite can only be described in one word HEAVEN.
Spacious, quiet, idyllic and very clean.
There is no noise allowed after 10pm.
Fantastic countryside and walks.
The only downside was that the shop wasn't well stocked but who cares as the site is brilliant and we'll keep going back.

This site has lots to recommend it. It is in a wonderful location, not too far from the A19, walking distance to a lovely village with pubs and great chippy, great walking area. Shower blocks good, owners welcoming, some hardstandings + grass pitches. BUT when we visited (a normal school term time weekend) it was absolutely heaving with families, kids, dogs, massive tents and windbreaks, multi family groups, some single sex groups. We were over the bridge in the 'quiet area' thankfully but still multi family tent groups pitched nearby.

Came the first week in May (including Bank Holiday Monday) with very good friends for our first ever camping experience with hubby's, kids and a dog each . We weren't sure how we would all fare! But this site has started us off on a brand new hobby, it was secure, clean and very friendly. The toilets and showers (ablusions hut, as we nicknamed it) was very clean no matter what time of day you visited, plenty of showers and toilets and wash hand basins, even fresh flowers in the block. We didn't even need to visit the other block which was even newer as there was never a queue at our nearest one. The play area was great for the kids, aged 10 and 8, and the shop sold everything they wanted at pocket money prices - perfect! The village is only 10 minutes walk away with 3 brilliant pubs - if you want a great meal go to the 'Catherine' - their duck is fabulous and the local chippy gets 10/10 - proper old-fashioned fish and chips, the only thing missing was the newspaper! All in all it was a fabulous site and a great experience, we have now decided that hotels will no longer get a look in and camping is for us - thanks to Cote Ghyll being such an impressive first site. We will definitely be returning again and again, the only problem is that now all the other sites will have a lot to live up to.

Spent 1st Bank holiday in May here. 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog.
What a fantastic site. Well kept, lovely warm toilet/shower block which was always cleaned to a very high standard. Nice play area for the kids where they made loads of friends.
Wonderful scenery everywhere you looked.
10 minute walk into the very pretty village where there are 3 great pubs all serving very good food. Also a fantastic fish & chip shop which only opens Thurs/Fri/Sat nights in the center of the village.(Well worth trying)
A lovely quiet site with plenty of trees and wildlife. Rabbits everywhere in the evenings.
Can't wait to go back again.
Definitely recommended.

Stayed here on the first decent weekend of the year and had a lovely time.
It is a fantastic setting with wonderful views all round and loads to see and do close by.
The owners are very friendly and efficient and the facilities are immaculately maintained.
If you do go there, try to avoid pitch 28 which is the one we were on.
It is pretty uneven making levelling the caravan very tricky and has a tap right in the middle of the approach to it. This makes life difficult if your reversing is not up to scratch - like mine!
This is a minor glitch and it will not stop us from visiting again in the future - I will just ensure that I do not end up on pitch 28!

We recently stayed here for a weekend (3 nights) over the bank holiday and had a fab time. We've stayed here before and have always enjoyed our time here.
The site was a bit wet but after all the rain what could be expected. Even though the ground was wet the tent was easily pitched and it did'nt get muddy at all.
Showers and toilets spotless as ever and loads of hot water all the time.
A short walk into the village led us to the pub and we had a really good meal at The Three Tuns.
Will be back to Cote Ghyll again this year as we love the site and the owners are friendly and don't bother you at all.

This is a lovely site well maintained and very handy for exploring north yorks. The site facilites are excellent, nice clean showers and pot washing. Most pitches seem to be very good, however the pitch we had f4 and the adjoining one f5 were quite uneven and I think they could be improved by levelling a bit. However the bonus of these pitches is they are very secluded and overlook the beck. You can hear the water fall and the birds, little rabbits running nearby very pretty.
Osmotherly is a pretty village but the road through the village is narrow, so beware if you have a big tourer.

Spent 2 nights at Cote Ghyll our 1st visit. The guy in reception (owner I think) gave us the info we needed, codes to get onto the site and into the toilet blocks and a map showing how to get to our ptiches.
Found the facilities to be perfect everything you need. The showers were clean, hot and free, set me up for the day ahead.
Don’t have children myself but the play area looked OK and plenty of space to kick a ball about. We were pitched on the other side of the stream across the bridge away from the play area, so we weren’t bothered by the little darlings.
We took plenty of food etc. But the site shop looked more than adequate to me.
The area is outstanding and is definitely worth seeing, great for walking. Osmotherley is only ½ mile way with 3 watering holes (pubs) to choose from all selling food. But you could choose to have fish & chips at the local fish shop. There is also a small store.
We hopped on a bus to Northallerton to have a look around the Saturday market; it only cost £3.40 return which is not bad for the distance approx. 7 miles.
Would go again but will wait for the summer sun to dry it up. There has been quite a bit of rain, can’t speak for other parts of the site but where we were pitched it was boggy underfoot on arrival and very boggy when we left.
Overall a very good site.

Just returned from a 5 day stay at Cote Ghyll, (our second visit) fortunate to be up on the new pitches ,which were great, facilities spotless and the free drying room was much used by our childrens coats and wellies. Even the rain didn't spoil our stay this week, the site has a lovely feel about it and the children love the freedom. Johnathan (the owner) is constantly on the go cleaning, fixing etc. Hope to be back soon.
