We stayed here for a couple of nights over the May Bank Holiday weekend. The shower blocks were at the time, newly opened, so there were 'teething problems', however, the facilities were clean and well maintained. The site was a little noisy at times, mainly due to the volume of people on the site. We pitched in a field near the main track into the campsite - although we had booked prior to arrival, space was very limited. Cars, passing by so close to your tent (the other side of the hedge) were a little worrying to us but did not cause problems. The area is lovely, very peaceful, and the beach is nice - although the sea is a little 'foamy'! Childrens play area small but functional! We did enjoy this site and would return if we were ever in the area again. We liked the fact that the site is only just over an hours drive from where we live.

August 2005 Stayed for 4 lovely nights here. Excellent facilities, clean and plentiful showers. There's even a laundry room with an iron if you fancy! Very friendly owner who was quick to respond to emails. Went over a bank holiday weekend and although they said it was fully booked up, it wasn't packed. Definately tempted to visit again. The pub by the site is lovely and the one just before you come over the causeway from Colchester serves excellent food.

May 2005 We had two lovely days at this campsite where we met lots of regulars who were very friendly. There is a brand new shower block which has just been built with several showers and toilets, very clean. There is very easy access to the beach and a lovely country park very close by. Slightly expensive for the facilities but lovely for a peaceful and friendly get away.

July 2004 Just me and the sidekick went for a quick weekend away in the 2-man tent. What a lovely site! Toilet and shower facilities were limited, but very clean. The owners very friendly and helpful. Had beautiful weather and was only a 5 min stroll of the beach! Just a shame that on the Sunday night we had three women with their NINE sons decide we needed club sounds coming from the car CD player and the kids ran riot round everyone's pitches. We were even pitched near to them, but the volume was unbelievable!! They did have the courtesy to turn it off at 10.15 though, so it could have been worse. Just goes to show - its a very relaxed site. Would recommend it to anyone!

August 2004 Nice level site, when we arrived we had a choose where to pitch. Toilet facilities could have been bigger only two showers, not enough for site that large. There was some old farm equipment surrounding the toilet area which could do with a tidy up. Overall not a bad site. Over priced for facilities available.
Don't think I would go back, did not see owners all weekend.

July 2004 Fair good level site (get up early and get in first on the wild mushrooms growing) toilets were very basic, not enough facilities for a site of this size really! Excellently placed for long walks along the beach and surrounding countryside. Overall not a bad site to visit, friendly staff as well.

April 2004 This is a basic campsite with everything you needed. The price was very cheap at £10 a night and by being split between 5 of us worked out £6 each for 3 nights. Very quiet and Peaceful area. Nice beach. A overall good place to camp.
Hope to see staring stanley soon! We will be back! from George, Emma, Kay, Lee and Tony.

May 2004 The campsite did not seem very popular when we stayed, considering it was the Mayday Bank holiday weekend. I can see why. The toilet / shower block was a real let down. The area around the portacabin was a mess, farm implements, rubbish etc. Shame though because the surrounding area was nice for the beach & walking. Charging £15 was also a bit pricey for this standard of site.

August 2003 Very pricey (£14.50 a night for a tent). Very busy (but it is the summer hols). Didn't think much of the facilities - one washing up sink. I think there might have been some more facilities somewhere else on site but the toilet block (3 toilets and two showers)was already a trek to get to. Likewise the children's play ground wasn't centrally placed. Not very impressive.

July 2003 Very neat and tidy site, Camping area 200 yards from the beach (Caravans in between) Very quiet. Decent facilitys in portacabin, and within walking distance of the pub! Slightly pricey at nearly £15 a night but will go again.
