Just returned from 5 nights here. We were greeted by Dave one of the wardens and shown where to find things and to our pitch.
There are three large fields with electric hook up (10amp) and flat grass pitches and quick to drain which after the heavy rain was a blessing.
At this time of year it was very quiet, think it would be a bit busy for us in the summer.
Lovely walks on site and across fields to the pub and a footpath to the beach.
Toilets/showers well looked after and warm, also a family bathroom. Laundry and dishwasher room all nice and clean.
There is a play park for under 10's, if you have older children they may well get bored.
We will be returning.

Lovely site
Good facilities
The only downside would be being told the children can’t play ball games after 6pm and the park being locked at certain times, not so much fun when you’re trying to get the kids playing outside and then have restrictions.
We’re even told at 5 to 6 on the first night that we shouldn’t be playing when we had 5 minutes time left?!
Other than that really nice site with lots of areas to walk the dog or just take a wander.
Close to beach and local pub.
Really enjoyed our stay.

Our second visit and we will be booking again.
Excellent site
Excellent services, showers and toilets.
Great access to beach and coastal walk and short walk to a lovely dog friendly pub.
Make sure you have a good torch especially now the nights have drawn in.
No bus service to west mersea but either bike or taxi.

Brilliant site, very clean facilities, wardens very helpful and always happy to help.
Nice short walk to the beach. Little shop next door for a few essentials but there is a Tesco and a co op not far down the road.
Different food trucks visited in the evenings so there is a choice of take out which is good but we didn't use them. We did notice that people have grocery deliveries on site which is great.
Nice and quite in the evenings, separate feels for ball games, kits flying and dog walking off lead.
We had a flat grass pitch with electric and our own water tap close by which was fab.
Nice little park for the kids and another one on the walk down to the beach. Country park just down the way. And we had an ice-cream van visit too, was a little pricey but it was a nice treat.
We will definitely return again.

Motorhomes and caravans were parked too close together.
Cars parked everywhere.
Showers were very clean and tidy but didn’t work well.
Facilities were good but not enough waste emptying.
When we arrived the warden was very nice. X

Fen Farm was great. We really enjoyed the site and the beach which is not even 5 minute walk through the site.
We were put right next to the park which I was a little worried about but the warden closes it at night and it wasn’t a noise problem at all.
We will definitely be back again

Once again Fen Farm did not disappoint.
Pitches are great and spacious. Unlike some campsites there’s no white lined allocated squares and as long as you’re sensible you are able to spread out a bit.
The children made friends and didn't really want to be dragged away from the park to visit Colchester Zoo!
Maybe an investment to upgrade and expand the children’s play area might be an idea as it’s been that size since our first visit in 2015.
The site next door has a small shop, most essentials can be purchased apart from alcohol which is only for site owners of that place.
Perhaps Fen Farm could approach them to agree some way of purchasing alcohol even if it was by way of email with the proof of your booking? Sometimes with a MH with no bike or car there is occasion that we may have forgotten something.
Toilets and Showers are kept very clean as is surrounding areas. Wardens on site are friendly as are staff in reception and all will help with whatever you need.
The Outdoor dog shower is an essential especially when they’ve been in beach and in sea.
There is a pub serving food a very short walk away and sometimes they do have a food truck approach the camp but this is mainly a site for ensuring you have enough food and and amenities with you.
Be prepared at Fen Farm for the wind it changes direction in the course of the day and being right on the coast can feel a bit cooler and you will need strong tent pegs due to the hard ground.
The only thing that that wasn’t very nice this weekend is toilets not being flushed by campers and dogs poo not being picked up.
Our granddaughters bike got covered in dog poo as she rode around the site. Having a dog ourselves we are very conscious of watching our dogs movements especially when she’s on a tether attached to MH. This is the first time at Fen Farm we’ve ever had an issue with this and they do provide many dog poo bins around the site.
So please all dog owners and toilet users wherever you stay,
Clear up after your dogs poo and humans please flush the loo!
Have given Fen Farm all 10’s it never fails to disappoint whatever the weather.
We are regulars having found it by chance 8 years ago and will return several times this year with and without the family.
Thank you FF for a lovely Easter break.
