Fen Farm was first class and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The site was attractive, tree lined and very clean and tidy.
The showers were hot and the toilet block was kept beautifully clean.
The staff were friendly and helpful so we were 100% happy with our stay. Thanks to Fen Farm.
10 out of 10 from us.

This is the third time we have stayed at the lovely Fen Farm.
Right from the warm welcome to being shown to your pitch, the clean great quality showers and toilets, washing up room and good location being a short walk to the beach and a short drive to the larger beach at West Mersea.
All the staff are great and make it a great place to stay every time.

Great campsite for young children, playground on the site.
My kids were off making friends in a safe environment and the warden closes the playground when it’s dark, so everyone knows no sillies.
Beach in walking distance, kids spent hours down there.
Spacious clean facilities, never had to queue for toilet/showers. Washer and dryer if needed.

The site was brilliant. Clean facilities and really lovely wardens. They gave us a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble :) we managed to pitch up early, change the allocated pitch and needed matches for our bbq!
Great play areas for the kids and they were safe for the children (aged 6 and 10) to access by themselves as so close to our pitches. Lovely reception staff who were helpful and friendly. A great small on site shop for camping and beach essentials - we needed pegs and sea shoes which they had and were fairly priced.
Great dog walking fields and a small wooded area for our pooch to run around off lead. There are lots of showers and toilets which were well maintained, and it was a nice touch having the radio playing constantly. There was an outside shower for the dog which was great after a day at the beach.
The walk to the dog friendly beach was well signposted and easily accessible within 5 minutes. When the tide was in the beach was great to walk along (some sand, shingle and pebbles) but when the tide is out the beach is very disappointing as it becomes sticky, murky clay! And it’s a very long way out to the sea - wellies would be needed if you wanted to walk the distance to the water.
We took the foot ferry to Point Clear and this was disappointing - we arrived at a large mound of sand and shingle! There were no coastal walks as advertised and sunbathing wasn’t an option either! The sea was lovely though and if you’re a confident swimmer you will be fine - the water became very deep very quickly!
The foot ferry was expensive for the small journey but it was a fun ride in the waves! (It was £4. 00 per adult each way, £3. 50 per child each way, luckily the dog was free). The ran frequently and the guy who was driving it was friendly and accommodating. The stop for the foot ferry is a supposed ‘20 minute walk’ from the campsite but it took us an hour! It’s at the very bottom of the island.
We walked to the beach from the campsite in the morning with a cup of tea and watched the waves as the tide was in, this was lovely way to start the day. We also had a lovely evening stroll along the beach and nipped into the neighbouring campsite (Coopers, Park Dean) and were able to use the shop and arcades.
We visited the nearby pub (The Dog and Pheasant) and had some really delicious meals. It’s definitely worth a visit if you can :)
Overall the campsite was lovely but for us the location, especially the beach, was disappointing - our dog loves to spend the day running and jumping in the waves but this was limited when the tide was out.

Amazing 2nd trip to Fen farm, this place is a gem and we will be back next year for sure.
Wardens are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, nice and quiet in the evenings, everything is well kept and clean to a high standard.
We love that it's a short walk to the beach and shops are a 10 minute drive away.
Perfect place to relax whilst the kids play and have fun away from technology.
Thankyou Fen Farm, more memories made for 2024 x

A nice site, quiet, good location for walks & beach.
Very clean facilities. More expensive than most sites, annoying that they wanted to charge £5 to park our guests car for an hour. A reasonable charge if this was a visitor for a whole day.
Wi- Fi is charged starting at £6 per day, per device, slight discount for multiple days.
Enjoy your stay but be prepared to pay!

What a beautiful place!
The pitches are a great size, the facilities are perfect, showers and toilets were immaculate, washing up facilities were great.
Also great location with a short stroll to the beach.
All the little extra were thought of and we will definitely be returning. Also helped with the gorgeous weather.
Our young kids 4 & 9 made some great friends and enjoyed playing in the park with them!

Quiet location, easy to find, and instructions to find the warden on arrival were clear. The washroom facilities were very good, centrally located, and very well maintained.
I particularly liked the two adjacent meadows for walking the dogs, not so impressed with the warden's dire warnings on having the dog off the lead, virtually the first thing he said on arrival.
Nice easy walk down to the beach, then along the seashore to the Parkdean site at Coopers Beach which has very nice cafe /restaurant on the edge of the beach.
Good pub within a stones throw of the site entrance, very nice on a hot day, also dog friendly.
We'll come back another time, it was an all round very pleasant experience.

A little gem, fantastic location, lots of space, perfect facilities, helpful and friendly wardens.
Only 5 minutes from the beach and plenty to explore by foot, cycle or car.
