We have just had a really delightful stay here. Facilities were fresh and clean, plenty of showers and loos-showers could use another hook but I couldn't complain about anything else. It's a well cared for site. It's not far out of Whitby and I think you could walk there.

Lots of lovely bays around there to explore. Plenty of room on the pitch. The pub on the roundabout before you get there has a lovely garden, food is good though a bit expensive and staff are really friendly.

We would stay again. There isn't a view of the sea but you can see the abbey.

Value for money, very quiet and peaceful stay on this site considering there was a lot of people staying,

Pitches for tents and hardstanding for others, EHU

Decent showerblocks,

A very nice site,

Great views over Whitby,

Approx 20 mins walk into the town, local pubs spot on, any amount of chip shops and eateries, had a few beers then got a taxi back for a fiver

Had a two night stay here recently, our first visit and we really enjoyed it, so much so that we've just booked for a return trip! Liked the fact that you can walk around and choose your pitch on arrival with lots of options.

We stayed at the top end of the first part of the site with lovely views of the valley towards the moors and a glimpse of Whitby Abbey from the back of the motor home.

The shower and toilet facilities are clean and tidy and there's a super new block which is very upmarket. An easy 20 minute walk into Whitby itself with lots of life going on and plenty of places to eat or sit and while away a bit of time.

Looking forward to our next visit here in a couple of weeks.

Easy to find, a warm welcome and a pick of the pitches. Just loved our few days here even though the weather was hit and miss, sunny intervals and heavy showers. The site is great and well kept, plenty of space, good facilities and a 15/20 min walk into Whitby.

Whitby is a lovely place to visit with good shops, good pubs and a good bus service. Also has a train station so plenty of places to visit if you want to use public transport.

A 10 min walk from the site gets you on the cinder track which we walked the six miles to Robin Hoods Bay, good path and stunning views from the cliff top. After a few refreshments and a root around the shops we walked the six miles back calling in the Windmill Pub at Stainsacre. For those who wouldn't want to walk back there is a bus to take you back to Whitby.

Great Place will be back

Just returned from a week at this site and we were really sad to leave, what a lovely site.

We got a lovely warm welcome and were told pitches aren't allocated so we could drive around and choose our own spot. Beautiful views in every direction so we were spoilt for choice. Some of the pitches aren't level but they're really well spaced out so that made up for it.

Toilets and showers were always spotless and plenty of hot water. There's an outdoor covered washing up area as well as an indoor one, freezer storage and a laundry room.

Very handy for Whitby, about a 20 minute walk down to the harbour. The only problem we found is that when you leave the site on foot there is no path next to the busy road for about 200 yards in either direction. It's a grass verge so you're not walking on the road but we had a 2 year old with a buggy and it's overgrown. We attempted to walk to the nearby pub but couldn't manage it and had to turn back. Not the site's fault though.

Already planning our next visit here, we loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our ten days at this campsite, influenced no doubt by the heatwave that happened to coincide with our visit! But even in worse weather, this is an excellent place to camp. From the top of the camping field (where we were) you can just catch a glimpse of the sea. It’s about a 20-30 minute walk down into Whitby. The owner is very friendly. The camping field is large and not crowded even when the campsite is full. The facilities are modern and very clean – you get to know the cleaner as he is there practically every time you visit! In fact there is someone there every hour during the day just cleaning up, and they seemed surprised that this was unusually frequent by campsite standards! There is a covered washing up area, and within it a chest freezer exclusively for freezing your ice blocks – a great arrangement. Camping rates are also very reasonable at £16 a night non-electric for two of us. They are clearly investing in this site, and it shows. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Whitby area.

Wonderful site. Excellent facilities, lovely owners, perfect location for walking into Whitby, catching the bus towards Staithes or Scarborough. Good shops nearby. Impossible to fault. I was there in a spell of very 'mixed' weather (i. E. Wet then sunny, very windy) and the my pitch was sheltered from the worst of it. We shall be back as soon as feasible.

May, late bank holiday. What a great site just on the outskirts of Whitby. Lovely large pitches, some on a slight incline but not enough to give any problems. The toilet facilities were excellent, very clean, showers lovely and warm with lots of hot water. The park and ride is a short distance away so you don't have to take you car into whitby. Definitely would return.

As has been said by all the other reviewers, this is a really great site. We stayed two nights last week, and the first 24 hours was heavy, constant rain, but the site drains well and wasn't too waterlogged.

We were warmly welcomed on arrival, and told to drive round and get a feel for the site before choosing any pitch we liked. It seemed like all the pitches were hard standing, and lots of water points, so you were never far from a tap.

If you turn right out of the site, there is a bus stop just past the garage, about a 5 minute walk, and bus takes only 5 minutes into Whitby. Walking there was a bit too much for us oldies. Or if you turn left the park and ride is about the same distance.

We'll definitely be back there again.

We've just returned from a really lovely three night stay at Broadings Farm.

This is a really well kept site, part of a fully working farm, with beautiful views over toward Whitby Abbey in one direction & rolling famland in the other. The farm owners and the farmhands who we spoke to in the owners absence were always friendly & couldn't have been more helpful.

There are separate, well maintained areas for caravans & tents. The tent pitches are flat & despite some heavy rain while we were there, the pitches held up really well with no sign of any mud. The toilet block is kept clean & tidy & the showers, which were free, were always lovely & hot. Our only real issue with this site was the proximity of the tent pitches to the main A171 which does result in some audible traffic noise at night.

Whitby is only a 15-20 minute downhill walk and if you don't feel like facing the walk back up the hill, there is the local bus services (the park & ride is situated a couple of hundred yards up the road from the camp site near the garden centre) or local taxi's are always available from the town centre for around £6.

There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Whitby. The Duke of York Inn, at the bottom of the 199 steps up to the abbey is well worth a visit. Unfortunately the Magpie cafe which was mentioned in the 2017 good food good is currently closed following a fire so we opted for the nearby Quayside, right opposite the fish market & your sea food won't come much fresher than that.

There are some pretty little vilages up & down the coast, Robin Hood's Bay to the south & Staithes to the North. Scarborough is also worth a visit.

There was only so much we could do in three days & it felt like we only really scratched the surface of what was on offer in the area. We must say that this is a lovley site & we are already looking forward to going back.
