We've just returned from a really lovely three night stay at Broadings Farm.
This is a really well kept site, part of a fully working farm, with beautiful views over toward Whitby Abbey in one direction & rolling famland in the other. The farm owners and the farmhands who we spoke to in the owners absence were always friendly & couldn't have been more helpful.
There are separate, well maintained areas for caravans & tents. The tent pitches are flat & despite some heavy rain while we were there, the pitches held up really well with no sign of any mud. The toilet block is kept clean & tidy & the showers, which were free, were always lovely & hot. Our only real issue with this site was the proximity of the tent pitches to the main A171 which does result in some audible traffic noise at night.
Whitby is only a 15-20 minute downhill walk and if you don't feel like facing the walk back up the hill, there is the local bus services (the park & ride is situated a couple of hundred yards up the road from the camp site near the garden centre) or local taxi's are always available from the town centre for around £6.
There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Whitby. The Duke of York Inn, at the bottom of the 199 steps up to the abbey is well worth a visit. Unfortunately the Magpie cafe which was mentioned in the 2017 good food good is currently closed following a fire so we opted for the nearby Quayside, right opposite the fish market & your sea food won't come much fresher than that.
There are some pretty little vilages up & down the coast, Robin Hood's Bay to the south & Staithes to the North. Scarborough is also worth a visit.
There was only so much we could do in three days & it felt like we only really scratched the surface of what was on offer in the area. We must say that this is a lovley site & we are already looking forward to going back.

What a fabulous site just on the outskirts of Whitby. When we arrived the lady that welcomed us couldn't do enough to make feel at home. Lovely large pitches some on a slight incline but not enough to give any grief. The toilet facilities where second to none very clean, showers lovely and warm with a good flow of water. Excellent views from the site either over Whitby or over the moors. You clan easily walk in Whitby approx 1 mile into town downhill all the way. After a good days sightseeing in and around Whitby you can at h a taxi back to the site for a fiver. It costs £3to park the car so not worth the effort driving into town. Definitely recommend this site to all I can feel another visit coming on soon

We have visited this campsite on numerous occasions and have never ever been disappointed. The pitches, the views every thing about the site is amazing. We only live local and have visited many other campsites in many areas but this is my favourite by far. The couple that run it are fantastic, as soon as you arrive they are there at reception to meet and greet you they really are lovely people. If you go into Whitby it takes about 15 mins to walk it, then if needed you can get a taxi back. We have a little dog and have never been refused a taxi with him. I would advise any one to visit this campsite it really is fantastic.

What a fantastic site this. We have been been back here twice now, once in the quieter season and now in peak season. Nothing much different apart from the weather. The site is lovely with two shower/toilet blocks, both of which are scrupulously clean. Never had to queue for a shower either. Plenty of free hot water.
The views are spectacular here whichever pitch you are on, although I would recommend taking some levelling blocks as some pitches do slope.
Walking into Whitby via the main road is an easy route, although if you turn right and follow signs for Ruswarp, there is a nice little pathway next to the railway line in the village. Brings you out at the harbour in Whitby. If you do wander into Ruswarp there is a nice little pub at the side of the railway, so you can watch the steam trains pass whilst sampling the real ale and good food.
The owners of the site were very helpful and friendly.
A great site which we will be returning to.

Stayed 4 nights in July 2016 and very pleased with site. Great location with excellent views. Good facilities that are spotless and the site itself is very well laid out, with tourers and tents in separate fields.

Went to the above caravan and campsite early July and ended up staying for over a fortnight! Firstly it is ideally situated for Whitby with stunning views. Spotless shower and toilet block. Great dog walking area-2 huge fields for them to run about in. Excellent value for money with the pitches being half the price of some sites in Scotland but with double the amount of facilities. We cannot recommend this site enough and whilst there we visited Scarborough, Bridlington, Pickering and small villages around Whitby like Sandsend, Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Ruswarp. Easy access in and out of site and very friendly owners. The carboot sale on the sunday was an added bonus with many a bargain to be had! Will definitely be back to this site-maybe even go again before the end of the season!

Very nice site with clean, in fact excellent toilets and showers. The only criticism I would make is that you have to hold the knob in to operate the shower which will go off otherwise. Very clean and well kept site, very close to Whitby and all pubs, shops etc. The views were very good too from site. The only problem was that the site was too close to the road which was a bit noisy especially with the motor bikers and late at night. But then it is easy to get too from main road! Camp site owner very friendly and helpful. Vincent

Spotless facilities and thoughtfully placed pitches. View is wonderful, as described in previous reviews.
Road noise during day, but peaceful at night. Well situated for Whitby.
Only downside is the site felt a little impersonal. A few flowerbeds would have gone a long way towards softening the feel of the place.

We have been here many times over the last couple of years and are still impressed. It is convenient for Whitby, and buses run frequently from outside the site if you don't want to drive. The site itself is slightly sloping and you may need levelling blocks but it is no big deal. The toilets are clean and showers are free with copious hot water. The site is well-maintained and yet relaxed. Don't expect any kids swings, clubhouse etc. We think it is excellent value for money so give it 9 out of 10 overall.

We stayed 2 nights in may. On the Friday night the local pub had a function and the music was plainly audible and went on till one in the morning. The hot water in the new shower block went off Saturday morning but was fixed quite quickly. A pleasant site but be aware of road noise for the tent pitches.
