This is quite a large site with a daunting list of rules but do not be put off.

The rules are actually not onerous and quite sensible and the site is spread over several (3?) fields with pitches well spaced out and there was no sense of crowding.

Most pitches seem almost level (levelling ramps help) and with electric hook up. We found a pitch away from the main road with lovely views over the Yorkshire Moors - they have a first come first served system, so late arrivals would have reduced choice and possibly road noise.

The toilet block was modern and clean and amongst the best we've ever seen. We walked into Whitby via Ruswarp and the River Esk valley (there are actually two footpaths, one each side of the railway) but be aware of the steep hill back up to the camp site.

Alternatively the park & ride buses run from the roundabout a few minutes walk away. Although we didn't use them, there's a Spar shop at the petrol station and a pub, both on the main road.

Recommended for a visit to Whitby

This site is clean and well maintained. Handy as walking distance to Whitby.

Only downside we felt is in a campervan you don’t an allocated spot for your stay.

If you go out for the day and come back a caravan usually has taken your spot. Which is fine for caravans as they go out in their cars.

For that reason only got 9/10 everything else 10/10

Large site set over 3 fields, Good location around 30 minutes walk into whitby down hill, (red hot day so £6 taxi back to site) around 15 minute walk up to park & ride roundabout near garden centre and hotel, petrol station with a decent size spar shop 5 minute walk down the road.

The road site it self to be honest is very dusty, with no lighting at night, pitches are a good size but are not numbered? you drive round and pick your own.

Toilets are clean,

But site lacks signage especially with regards ball games? it says on sheet given in small print no ball games? However it goes on to say around toilet block & reception area? bit confusing? but did not stop kids playing football near caravans, cars & motorhomes with a lot of near misses whilst we were there. Never saw a warden seems your just left to it. Could do with a small park and football area for the kids,

Would we visit again? "Yes" now we know the lay out of the pitches better, and maybe best to avoid school holidays.

Couldn’t fault the site. Excellent amenities and perfect location.

5 mins from beach and only 20 mins walk along the cliff top.

If you didn’t fancy walking there was a bus stop outside the gates which would take you either into Whitby or as far as Middlesbrough with some lovely villages on the walk Sandsend

Stayed for 2 nights, we could choose our own pitch,

It's nice and quiet, great base for the surrounding towns and shower /toilet facilities clean and available 24/7.

No WiFi so our teenage kids had to talk to each other like it's 1995 🤣 there was even a sign that said that in reception!

Lovely little place.

Will definitely be going back x

Love this site been quite a few times and will be going again.

Nice walk down to town taxi back for £6. Takes about half hour to walk down depending how fast you walk.

There is a pub 5mins walk turn left outside of site

It is quiet, green and spacious site.

Well serviced hard standing pitches.

There is a designated dog walking area.

The shower blocks were warm and clean.

The staff seemed relaxed and friendly.

It is in easy walking distance to the centre of Whitby via the cinder track

Dog walk was great. Site disappointing with a few issues.

Children running round back of units, playing football around the site, when there are 3 massive mowed paddocks, stones being thrown until we had to tell them to stop.

Depending on wind road noise was an issue. No footpaths to walk to park and ride and bus stop very busy fast road. Unable even to get out of entrance to join road.

Showers not warm enough and no way of adjusting them. No disabled facilities. Mens showers only 1 hook no where to hang clothing and no shelf in shower.

Overall disappointed. Receptionist didn't advise where facilities were on site or water, waste disposal or dog walk.

The site was very good overall it had the amenities that most sites have except WiFi

It's only 20 minutes away from Whitby, if you come to the site it can get rather gusty, we put the awning up but after one night we decided to play it safe and take it down

Overall though the site is in a good location, with electric hookup and water taps close by, some pitches are sloped so I would advise bringing levelling ramps with you, there is a dog walk,

At night there are no lights so a torch will be needed
