My family have just stayed here for 4 days and had a fantastic time with beautiful weather. It cost £17 a night for 2 adults ,2 children and a dog, the toilets and shower block were spotless and the farmer and his wife were very friendly and helpful.
At 10 o clock at night it was all quiet with he children in bed so we have no complaints at all, we will back again in the 6 weeks holiday and would recommend it.

Just stayed for 2 nights in the tent, lovely site, new toilet and shower block, about a 40 minute walk into whitby. There is loads of room on this site as there is no overcrowding allowed. Well run by the very friendly and helpful owners. Will definitely be returning many thanks for a most enjoyable and pleasant stay.
This site is very popular so would advise ringing up and booking a pitch, by mid afternoon on our stay they were already full. They also have a really nice looking caravan area with hook up so will be taking the van on our next visit.
P.S this is a working farm so you will hear the sheep, to us this was a bonus and added to the sites charm.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at Broadings Farm. Owners were friendly and helpful (giving us ideas for local walks and places to get camping gas!) and we were told just to pitch where we fancied, which suited us as we were on a motorbike! Prices were fab at £5 pppn.

The views are panoramic and you can even see the Abbey from the campsite. The facilities are adequate, clean and tidy. Showers are 50p (token obtained from farmhouse) and last about 8minutes or so.

The site is very close to Whitby centre and could be walked in about half an hour or less than 5 mins in a vehicle. Taxi journey is about £5. We walked to Sandsend in about an hour which is great for the beach if you don't like the commercialism of Whitby itself!

The Stables restaurant is just up the road and although we didn't go, the Sunday carvery smelt fantastic! Further up the Guisborough road is a sign for the Beehive pub - not really within walking distance for a night out but worth a visit as a country local!

There is a car boot sale two fields away every sunday - no noise from it but good to visit and pick up a bargain!

The owners were very amenable and although the site should be cleared by lunchtime on departure day, we asked if we could stay a bit longer to allow us to go for a walk - their reply was to stay as long as we wanted. We departed at 17:30.

As a final point, the campsite is in it's infancy having only been open a year or so. The previous week (spring bank hol) proved so popular that they had a few issues with water demand but the weekend we were there they accepted less campers (despite the high demand and having plenty of space!) making sure all previous issues were resolved - congratulations Broadings: quality camping over profit!

Had a lovely stay, nice people very welcoming. The new toilet/shower block is great and being able to have a hot shower was a godsend due to the weather being quite wet and cold.

Only downside is its a long walk up the hill from town after a few pints, but the views across the valley more than make up for it.

Returned yesterday extremely sun burnt after spending a fantastic bank holiday weekend at Broadings campsite.

The owners were very welcoming and friendly when we got there, and the vibe across the whole site was very chilled out which was great.

The newly finished shower block was very clean, and 50p for a long hot shower was worth every penny. The two outdoor sinks provided convenient washing up facilities, and drinking water was readily available at several points across the site.

As far as location is concerned it was perfect. We took our surf boards so a 5 minute drive to Sandsend, or 20 minute drive to Saltburn provided great beaches. The site is right on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors so there is plenty of walking to do, and just around the corner is Whitby Golf Course which looked to be in great condition.

Just be warned that in summer, due to a lack of cover it will not get totally dark until after 11PM, and the sun will be shining through your tent at 4 AM. It also gets pretty windy at times so a wind break is a must.

Great value at £5 per person per night. I will definitely be going again.

We stayed at this site during bank holiday weekend, site was full but still loads of space between pitches.

Owners are very friendly and helpful.

There is a no noise policy after 10pm which was adhered to by all so we had nice quite nights.

The site has staff available during the night to ensure everyone's safety.

Shower block was clean and adequate also with outdoor sinks for washing up.

Whitby town is a short walk away.

We were new to camping last year and wanted to visit Whitby. We found to our surprise that many places were no cheaper than a static caravan for a weekend, until we stumbled upon Broadings at £10 per pitch per night.

The Broadings didn't mind our big 9man tent with our family of 7 and also welcomed our dog too.

The farmer and his wife were very friendly and chatted to most people on his rounds of the sight every day.

There were sheep in the field next door which were amusing for the kids, but were no problem regards smell or noise.

Most of the noise came from a circus tent and another marquee with very weird, extremely large group of people whom sometimes stayed up chanting til midnight. Luckily the kids were heavy sleepers, but it kept me and the hubby awake a while.

However this was the only downside as these people occupied one of the fields next door. Other than that our stay was pleasant.

The site was reasonably clean and although there was a new shower and toilet block being built, there were only porta loo's and cold water taps available. The kids didn't like the spiders in the loo's and we had to go with them with a torch, but it was only a few yards. We shall however look forward to the new toilet and shower block when its finished.

There was quite a bit of space where our dog loved to play ball, with not only our kids but anyone else's that wanted to join in, this was ok as it tired them all out in the evenings.

We were lucky to catch the best of the weather whilst we were there, although it did rain on our last night and it was a little blustery at times, but if you pegged your tent down properly this posed no problems.

We visited the pickering steam engine rally, which was an hour away and Whitby regatta too the weekend we stayed.

The campsite commands some lovely views across Whitby as far as the Abbey.

Whitby itself is only a 30 minute walk down hill, obviously being up hill on the way back it could take twice as long depending on how tired you get.

Would definitely visit again.

Have visited site lots of times over last couple of years always found owners very friendly and helpful, love the new shower block. Handy for a good night out in Whitby. Going again next week. In the not too distant future hopefully electric hook ups for tents will be made available. There is a short walk into Ruswarp where there is a miniature railway and boats to hire on the river. You can also catch the steam train to Pickering from here. Overall a great site to visit

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was fairly quiet too.

Restaurant next door (haven't been) and small shop/petrol station 5 minutes walk away.

Great place just outside whitby, nice views.

Great price too.

Good clean shower / toilet block

Will cycle and camp there soon.

Take heed. This site is somewhat exposed to the winds coming in off the moors.

We stayed on this site bank holiday weekend - we tried to get on one we stayed previously but couldn't due to wet ground, so we tried this one we knocked on door and was answered by friendly couple. They said they were really fully booked but they had space on overflow field. We gratefully accepted ( plus they allow dogs which is great ) Lovely views, great showers and toilets and the man was always friendly to a fault when he went round on his checks in 4 wheel drive. Brilliant value for money. Deffo be going again.
