Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Functioning, clean toilet/shower facilities with laundry room and room for cleaning dishes.
Pretty much level hard standing for the vehicle with power and water.
Located only a 20 mins walk from the centre of town, however the first 200yds from the site is on the verge at the side of the road.
Recommend the Singing Kettle for Breakfast and the Humble Pie & Mash for pie based meals.
Only downside was is there is no Wi-Fi at the site, but life goes on without it.
Would definitely use again.

Splendidly convenient campsite a pleasant stroll on a footpath down to Whitby.
Clean and tidy and good facilities.
All hard pitches with electricity and water.
Quiet and friendly

A well run site. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. The shower/toilet facilities were very clean and although the site was full it never seemed busy.
There is a laundry area but we did not use this. You choose your own pitch from those vacant, we chose one at the bottom of the field with an excellent view across the fields.
There was a regular bus service (every half an hour) 8 minutes walk away into Whitby Scarborough and Guisborough.
The Stables pub/restaurant was approximately 8 minutes walk along a grass verge.
We would definitely recommend this site and we will go back but out of the holiday season.
The only down side was children running around the site screaming (as they do) across the pitches. They did stop once I told them (may be I'm just a grumpy old person 😉)

This site is convenient for walking into Whitby & there’s a regular bus service nearby although there’s a wobbly grass verge to consider for about 200 yards from site to pavement. Could be tricky with pushchairs small children mobility scooters & lively dogs.
The pitches are a bit rough & ready & most need levelling blocks.
The shower blocks are outdated & would benefit from improvement. The water was always warm enough & they were cleaned every day. They need handrails fitting & only some had shampoo basket holders on the walls with only a tiny drop down seat. Some had only a few hooks so when it’s wet your clothes get wet from wet coats. And a manky shower curtain hangs in 2 of the showers which seemed not to be changed in our entire 10 day stay. We didn’t draw the curtains anyway & think they need ditching.
The site is peaceful away from the road. Would I return? Not unless it was improved upon.

This site is in a super location for visiting Whitby and the surrounding area.
Check in was quick and efficient, and we were told to drive round and choose our own pitch.
There are 2 toilet blocks meaning we never had to queue for showers, and they were spotlessly clean.
We arrived just after some very heavy rain, meaning the ground was very muddy, but after a dry day it soon drained away.
To get into Whitby we walked the first day, and used the park and ride the other day. We also visited Staithes and Runswick Bay which were close by.

I was excited to arrive at this site as the website and reviews were great.
Access to the site was very easy. We chose an end of row pitch nearest the open country side as the view was lovely.
Site was very busy. The facilities blocks were clean.
The site is badly let down by narrow pitches which were threadbare of any proper aggregate and full of weeds. The majority of pitches were sloping.
The hedgerow in between each section were also overgrown, although I'm not too bothered about heavily manicured sites, I felt the site looked unloved.
Great unsecure dog exercise area within the site.
Taps plentiful for drinking water. Elsan points abysmal with no shelter or shield from the elements and in full view of other users.
Biggest bugbear however was paying extra due to the length of our outfit but the pitches weren't allocated for size, so why have I had to pay extra? £130 for 4 nights. Maybe I'm too honest as no one came over with a tape measure.
Oh, and smokers, please discard your butts in a bin once safely extinguished and not litter sites with your personal rubbish.
We probably won't be back to this site, there weren't enough positives in our opinion.

We received a warm welcome at reception and were left to choose the pitch that suited us. We were given advice on how best to get to Whitby, including the quickest way to walk.
Although there are no serviced pitches, there is fresh water between alternate pitches.
Two toilet blocks meant always having access to facilities, all of which were kept clean.
The park and ride, or just bus ride, to Whitby was useful.
The Stables Hotel, close to the site, served good food.
We enjoyed our short stay.

We thought the wardens were extremely helpful and friendly,
The location was perfect,
The site was very well maintained.
A bit of a walk to the bus stop, but taxis are easy to get, and not badly priced.

We loved the location, the view and the facilities!
Only a one night stay unfortunately and wished we had planned it better to stay longer!
The site is well laid out with first come first pitched basis and we arrived at 2pm on the Saturday with not many pitches left because it was so busy but we found one at the top left of the second field with a great view!
The toilet/shower block is immaculate and with plenty of cubicles and showers. The receptionist was extremely helpful when we checked in and showed us a great shortcut to walk through woods/housing estate to get into Whitby(20/25mins).
Slight road noise overnight as it is a main route into the town but this is my only fault.
This is a great campsite with everything you need to explore the wonderful area of Whitby.
We will be coming back here for longer next time!

Showers and toilet block was really nice.
Good location to walk into Whitby and easy to get the bus back to the park and ride.
Unfortunately for us the weather was shocking and that meant the ground got muddy.
Sure it will be lovely in the summer.
