Just spent a lovely weekend here with 3 other families. The site is quite large, on a slight slope and you can pitch where you like. There's no EHU for tents here but there's a plug socket in the toilet block for essentials like hair straighteners!

The toilet block has 3 loos (in the ladies!), 3 showers and 3 sinks and it was very clean with plenty of hot water. You do have to pay 50p for the showers though but they last forever!

The washing up area is outside under a shelter but only has 2 sinks and there was a queue most mornings.

The welcome we got from the owners was very warm, friendly and casual. They will freeze your ice blocks free of charge and they do 'the rounds' at about 11pm to remind you to turn your music off!

The views from this site are just lovely and it only took us about 20 minutes to walk into Whitby, downhill going but uphill coming back! Apparently there is bus but we didn't use it and the queue for a taxi was rather long!

We'd definitely camp here again as it's a great base for Whitby and there was even a car boot sale in the next field on the Sunday!

Excellent site in an excellent location!

This site provided us with excellent facilities, both the toilets and showers were good quality, 50p for the showers which you can't grumble at when the site is this good value for money!

The location is brilliant being only a 25 minute walk into whitby, and giving great views of the abbey. There is a lidl close by for any necessities, but who would want to cook when you can have fish and chips every day!

Friendly people who are happy to help with anything.

Just had a couple of nights here. Lovely site with pretty flat hard standing and grass for your awning. Nice clean toilets, take a long hose if you have on board water tanks and a long electric cable.30 minute stroll in to Whitby down hill. Will be back. Cost £12 a night for two adults two dogs electric hook up and awning which is excellent value. This is a proper working farm so you can hear the animals in the barn. The owners are very nice and friendly. There is a garden center and pub just up the road and a car boot in the next field on certain days.

Just got back from 3 nights at Broadings Farm. This was my first ever camping trip and I loved it! The farm was spacious, clean and tidy - the showers and toilets spotless and the farmer and his family were lovely.

Highly recommend this to anyone, we will defo be going back. Only a 25 min walk into Whitby and a lovely pub up the road.

Was a little bit breezy but our tent withstood the elements fine - though a windbreak is on my shopping list for next time. I am now a camping convert and looking forward to my next trip!

Turned up without booking and were greeted by very nice and helpful owners who charged a family of five very little for two nights.

Tent field is great with excellent views of the surrounding moors and across Whitby and with no defined pitches it was find a space time of which there was plenty.

Well tended site with basic but very nicely presented, spotlessly clean and functional facilities. Road noise mentioned in previous reviews is there but not a problem really, it didn't keep us awake. Also no noise after 10 pm was adhered to.

What I did especially like was that after we had pitched and headed off for a meal we came back and the site entrance said site full. As far as I could tell only one more small tent had arrived after us and there was still loads of space to fit more in. Quality and space over profit, fab idea.

For me the missus and three children aged 10/5 and 3 in a borrowed tent on a trial run after a long break from camping we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

We have stayed here many times over the past few years so I thought it was about time I wrote a review.

We love it,the owners are very friendly and helpful and have even helped us pack away the tent on windy days, it can get a bit wild on the odd occasion.

He doesn't allow fires but bbq's are fine the toilet block was built last summer and is always clean, the showers are fifty pence.I don't think he has hook up for tents but we don't use hook up anyway so I have never asked.

The best pitch in my opion is on the left hand side of the field at the back, face the tent towards blue bank and watch the views ( weather permitting )

Loads to do in surrounding area eg goathland, falling foss, whitby, robin hoods bay.

Some people may not like the thought of not having a shop on site and it doesn't have a play ground for the kids, but we use the site as a base for exploring the surrounding area so it isn't a issue with us.

The grass may be too long for some of you who like bowling green pitches.

I think adults are a £5 and kids over 5 are £3 but I couldn't swear to that, though I do remember what ever he charges it's the same all year round including bank holidays.

This is a excellent site with good clean toilets and showers it is located 2 miles out side whitby at realistic prices with a friendly couple running it,what more do you want.

This was our first venture into the world of camping, had an amazing time, so good in fact that we went back the next weekend with friends.

Facilties: New, constantly cleaned, hot showers, very short walk from anywhere in the fields

Staff: Owners were very friendly and attentive. One person turned the farmhouse upside down to find us a plaster when we needed one

Location: Walkable to Whitby, but prefer a cab back after a few ales (£5 and taxi rank on sea front)

Site: No fixed pitch, so could have gazeebo with friends on second visit. Not over crowded even when full. Great views, with coast view at top of field.

We had a great time and have fallen in love with camping. Fingers crossed for other sites, you have a lot to live up to!

A very warm welcome upon arrival. Owners were very chatty and nothing was a problem for them, had a free choice of where to pitch. Arrived mid afternoon but by the evening the site was quite full.

The toilet/shower block was spotless and it seemed to be being cleaned when ever we used it.

Whitby was close by and the beach was great for our two young children. A great pub up the road the stables where good food was available.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Broadings in June, we were pleased to find a warm welcoming environment with clean and modern facilities. The campsite was an absolute bargain to stay. Whitby town centre was only a really short drive away plus there was a supermarket and other shops very close by.
We got a taxi into the town at night which only cost £5. The views from the site were fantastic as we luckily stumbled on some great weather! We would definitely recommend this campsite to both couples and families with young children.

Just got back from 2 days at this site, site is in 2 fields 1 for caravans / motorhomes with hardstanding and electrics the other for tents. The field has a slight slope but not too bad! Toilet block was spotlessly clean and roomy. 20min walk to whitby all downhill, the number 95 bus gets you nearly back to the site, plenty of taxi's in the town and if you have a dog find the purple london taxi he lets dogs in.

A point worth noting this is the only site now that lets tents on within easy walking distance -and it's a good one
