We've just returned from a 3 night stay here and have very mixed feelings about it.

As for location to Whitby it couldn't be better. Far enough out but still a very pleasant walk into town. On a bus route so easy to get home up that big hill too, though we did miss the bus so treated ourselves to a taxi back. £5. 50 very well spent !

We didn't use the new toilet facilities so cannot comment.

Our only reservation. Which could stop us returning, was the volume of mud on all the roadways and the limestone which has been used for the hardstandings, which creates a sludge when wet, so we found it impossible to walk the dog, or use the water and Elsan disposal without getting filthy. I appreciate there had been a lot of rain and this is a working farm, but we have been to many campsites at this time of year and never had the problems we encountered here. Even just registering you have to cross a muddy car park and a muddy lawn to get to the farmhouse door and of course I didn't have my wellies on at this point. We even put the dog in the car to drive him up to the field for a walk one day so we could avoid walking him down the muddy roads.

It's obvious that a lot of money has been spent to improve the facilities there so it seems a shame that a problem like this will put us off going again.

Spent two nights here in September at a cost of £30. Money well spent, This site is getting bigger and bigger with more hardstanding pitches added. Amenities were clean and tidy, as usual, with plenty of hot water at the touch of a button. A great spot visiting Whitby.

An excellent good value for money site in a fabulous location.

Situated just off the Guisborough Road this site is perfectly placed for visiting Whitby and the east coast resorts as well as the north yorkshire moors. 20 minutes walk from Whitby harbour and bus station and 10 minutes walk from the park and ride. Brilliant for motorhomers who want to park up and use local ammenities. Very close to the cinder track, a traffic free cycle track linking Whitby to S carborough and lots in between.

Very clean shower and toilet facilities and a choice of hard standing or grass in several areas of the site.

Just had a couple of nights on this site. Ten minutes drive from Whitby. Apart from the wind it was really good.

Reception and booking in with the owner was easy, picked our own pitch and into Whitby we went.

Shower blocks immaculate (no keys or passes to fuss about), cleaned several times a day, grass cut and clean, everyone pleasant and quiet by the nominated time (10pm), washing up room immaculate, even had a freezer in it for your picnic boxes, trees and hedges cut, nothing wrong with this site at all.

We love Whitby and will return to this site no problem.

Site not bad new toilet block only thing lets it down no heating pitches ok nearest park to whitby, quiet a nice place parking terrible

Parking at harbour 5 pounds for two hours it is a little bit cheaper about 15 minutes away down hill its a struggle going back up, public toilets are a disgrace they only want your money, local people told us the council are not keen on spending any money.

Well well well. A gem of a sight.

Toilet blocks pristine

Showers free and clean

Washing up area clean and tidy

Camping field no complaints at all

Owners friendly and have a sense of humour

Not crammed in like sardines

Site easy to find

30mins walk into Whitby

Star gazing spot on saw the milky way

So all in all my 2 girls, our blind greyhound and myself had a great time and will return.

Just returned from a 2 night visit. Arrived, unbooked, and received a Very warm welcome from the owner. Having paid and registered (£16pn inc. Hook-up in high season) we were told to pick our own pitch. Good sized hardstandings with water tap on every fourth pitch. Fabulous views from a peaceful site. Found a Park and Ride approx. Half a mile from site with motorhome access. Made it a delight to vist Whitby as motorhomes are not catered for in the town. Unfortunately, I have to recommend this wonderful site to everyone as I am sure, the next time we visit, we will be lucky to get a pitch without booking.

Just returned from a two night stay with children and two dogs. Great location and made to feel very welcome on arrival. The shower facilities, toilets and washroom were all cleaned regularly and clean throughout our stay. Great views and overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Will definitely recommend and will be returning for sure. Make sure to try the ice cream from the ice cream cart!

Again having visited before a Nice friendly welcome. Most probably the Best campsite nearest to Whitby town, a definite nice stroll down, still great views, some not very level pitches on the hardstanding. Maybe toilets could have been better laid out but still clean, this time had a lovely peaceful stay with no groups about. All in all a pleasant stay. Thank you

Just returned from this site not impressed at all on walking to the toilet I counted 6 loads of dog mess. The pitches are hard standing sort of just wide enough for caravan and are not very level had to lift caravan 8'to get anywhere near level. There is no lighting on the site on a night. Sinks in toilets bear resemblance to a bucket and about the same size. All in all not at all impressed.
