Just stayed at this lovely little site within walking distance of Whitby - no need to use your car! Takes about 20 mins to walk into Whitby - turn left at the roundabout near the garage and cut through the housing estate.
Whitby is a super little seaside town with lots of character, pubs, places to eat and walks along the seafront. Not forgetting Whitby Abbey which is also worth a visit.
Site had plenty of space for tents even on this lovely Bank holiday weekend. Space for children to play too - no miserable wardens asking them to stop flying kites, kicking balls etc.
Quite a windy site but has nice views across the countryside. If you have a wind breaker - take it.
Good facilities, showers were very good and free, sockets in the toilets for using hair dryers etc.
A great little site for a weekend break or longer.

We've just returned from a nine night stay at this lovely little camp site. The owners were very pleasant and always willing to help. The toilets are lovely and clean with constant hot water, although I think they could do with some heating as it was quite chilly after having a shower. It is about a 20 minute walk into whitby or if your like us you can cheat and jump on the bus. It cost about £2. 50 for 2 adults. Will definitely be returning very soon.

Very handy campsite for those visiting Whitby, approximately 30 mins walk down to the harbour area. Pleasant open site giving superb views over the Esk valley. Welcoming owners. Fairly new amenity block. Nice hot free showers and spotlessly clean. Petrol station over the road for odds and sods. Open aspect gives little shelter on windy days. Not a lot to keep the kids entertained. Sensible rules and not too many of them. Very happy to use again.

We have just come back from a two night stay at Broadings Farm. We were both impressed by the site, it is mainly on level ground with hedges around for added shelter. The shower/toilet block was immaculate, clean, spacious and smelt lovely. It has two showers and 3 toilets so I imagine in high season it might be somewhat difficult to get a morning or early evening shower.
The site is located above Whitby and as a result you will be affected by high winds as we were, so if forecast windy conditions be prepared when pitching and unpitching.
We walked to and from Whitby the whole of our stay. We used the short cut through the housing estate which was advised in an earlier review. I would definitely recommend it, it only takes you about 15 or 20 mins to reach the town and takes you off the main roads. And you pass under a old railway bridge (now part of the Cinder Path), you get a interesting view of the Abbey when you approach the bridge.
Whitby is one of our favourite places to visit. There is so much to see and do. During the day you can go on the beaches (be aware of the tide times as its very easy to get caught. We nearly did!)fossil hunting. The town is very dog friendly with many places welcoming dogs or having water bowls placed outside. The shops vary from nick nack tourist type to gothic alternative to stylish. There are many art shops and if you want a piece of Whitby jet you will be spoilt for choice.
The town has a brilliant history museum which definitely gets 10 out of 10 and you really need to visit (be prepared to spend a couple of hours there as there is so much to look at).
Then of course there's the Abbey, I personal love it. If you have read Bram Stokers Dracula you feel as if you've stepped into the pages of the book.
The town offers many pubs, cafes, restaurants some modern and some oldie worlde.
We recommend you sample the pies, mash and peas in the Humble Pie cafe (10 out of 10), they make old fashioned homemade pies served in large metal bowls in quaint surroundings.
Another place is Sherlocks coffee shop, again the setting is very victorian and based around sherlock holmes, they sell homemade cakes etc and real coffee and gorgeous hot chocolate (10 out of 10 again).
We will definitely be using this site again

Had a few problems getting in touch with the owners. We turned up on speck, what a lovely welcome from the owner's. Mentioned couldn't get in touch, simple explanation they were having trouble with change over on broadband & telephone company.
The toilet/shower block is kept cleaned. There's 2 washing up sinks & enough space for preparation.
Close by a petrol station for quick essentials.
Takes about 20mins walk into Whitby, ( short cut through the housing est on the left past the petrol station, turn right St Andrew's Rd? walk straight down the bank until you see on the right Starbeck Close, turn left just before then. Over a little bridge turn right & carry on walking come close by to the town. )
We new to camping, be booking up again to stay here. Everyone on the site was very pleasant.

Absolutely brilliant site, we spent 2 weeks in their static caravan. We had no problems at all. Caravan was great, location great, no noise issues. We had an amazing time here, loved hearing the cockerel in the morning. My daughter loved playing with the farm cats, sadly though they'll probably be a little less tame next time we visit.
We never used any facilities on site but everything looked clean and functional.
Being just outside Whitby made this site very useful for exploring Yorkshire as we were never caught in the Whitby traffic when entering or leaving.
We were very sad to leave but we hope to return in our next Whitby holiday.

We have just returned from Broadings Farm and we cannot wait to return! I would recommend this camp site to everyone - but I'd be worried it would get booked up and we wouldn't be able to get on again! In total we had 14 adults and 6 children with 6 tents and a gazebo. There was plenty of room!
The owners were friendly and helpful. The camp site was clean and the shower block was amazing! Clean, well presented, there was always hot water! Enough plug sockets to dry and straighten your hair, whilst room for others to wash their hands and go!
The security on the site were fantastic and very helpful when needed! There were chickens up near the owners house that the children could look at, as well as their cats and pet rabbits roaming free! Much to our little ones amusements!
Whitby Town Centre is a 25 minute walk (although we found a quicker and easier way through a housing estate!) There is a garage 5 mins away selling essentials. Whitby beach is gorgeous and clean!
The only thing I would recommend is maybe a little on site play area being invested in and then it would be even better! We have all said we cannot wait to return next bank holiday! If not before! Thanks for a great stay!

What a fantastic welcome at the farm with everything explained to you.
Right mens loos, 2 urinals, 2 toilets, 2 showers free may I add, 3 handbasins (at busy times involved queing). Only shaver sockets in mens.
Free on site freezer for your freezer blocks.
Great views, location, road can be busy into Whitby, but walking was fine more like 40 mins down to swing bridge, and a bus service does run past the farm entrance X93.
We did have large groups on site occasionally and although having children didn't adhere to the 11pm no noise rules given to you when you pay, most annoying.
Would go back maybe at a quieter time.

We stayed for a week on a standard grass pitch.
We were met by a lovely friendly woman who told us where everything was an where we could set up.
We decided to set up near the toilet block and our pitch was quite flat but some further down the field were very sloped.
There were some nice views of whitby abbey and the countryside.
There were 2 sinks outside for washing up on the side of the toilet block.
The toilets were always kept clean and there was even a plug socket in the ladies so you could do your hair or charge your phone while you were getting washed.
It was about a 15 min drive into whitby and there was a garage across the road from the site or a lidl about 5 mins away, there was also a carboot a couple of fields away on the Wednesday and Sunday.
Plenty of space for the kids to play but no specific play area for them.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

On arrival we received a lovely warm welcome from the owner and their dog. The site was clean, tidy and quiet with good, modern, clean toilet and shower facilities with plenty of hand wash available.
There were sinks with washing up liquid to wash your pots and pans and plenty of hot water throughout. The site overlooked views of the surrounding countryside.
It was a straight road into Whitby Town which took 25/30 minutes to walk to. It was great! We will definitely be staying here again!
