Another excellent visit for us to this fantastic caravan and campsite in Hurley. We used our bikes this time around to ride to Henley and back along the Thames Path and also to Marlow in the other direction, finding a few Geocaches on the way.
We stayed on a premium pitch which includes water and waste area for water. As usual the grass was kept in outstanding condition and the amount of space that you get in the middle of the field is fantastic - unlike at many sites where it's a pack them in policy in rows. Here they are happy for you to pitch your caravan in any direction you prefer. The only negative of the pitch this year is that they have installed hard standing pitches for the premium pitches and the stones used are sharp, uneven and loose meaning that the awning floor is uncomfortable. The assistant wardens were very aware of this and they are passing on our suggestion that it is relaid.
The toilet blocks are still excellent although they could do with a little bit of maintenance such as tightening up toilet seats etc before things become more of a problem.
The setting on the River Thames is amazing and being able to take our inflatable canoe out within yards of our pitch was great fun. I noticed a review which mentioned problems with noise - it's worth noting that the leaflet you get when you arrive includes an emergency number for the wardens and I'm sure they would sort out problems like this. We too like the fact that music and radios are not allowed at this site meaning that we don't have to listen to other people's choice of music.
It's also great for the kids because they can cycle around and play in all the open space that is provided, although a playground would give a 10 out of 10 rating for child friendliness. We will be returning to this superb site, which although expensive, is worth it for the superb location.

We had tried to get a pitch at a nearby site, but they were full and recommended this one. I'm glad they did, it was lovely.
The electric pitch was large enough for our enormous tent with plenty of room for our car along side. It's a pretty site, with I think three toilet and shower blocks so you are never too far away. One of the shower blocks is a family one, with a shower, sink and loo in each cubicle - I really like that idea. It was all clean and hot enough and generally as good as toilet and shower blocks can get. My only niggle is the key pad doors; your given a 4 digit number at check in to use for the toilet/shower blocks, while it's perfectly easy to use, it's an extra hassle when you are carrying all your wash gear with a couple of children in tow.
The tent fields are sectioned off with hedges, and again if I'm bing picky, I would say they are sectioned off just a bit small, I prefer to be in a larger tent community - but it didn't spoil anything, the weather was good enough that we were off site much of the time exploring.
There is plenty in the surrounding area, Henley, Windsor, and loads more. You will be sure of a great stay at this site.

We booked a large non-electric pitch for 2 nights and were pleased with the amount of room we got on our pitch. Tents are spaciously spread out and have allocated places.
We were placed under a large oak tree which was lovely and shady. There were a couple of mole hills however (and new ones next to the tent while we camped - active mole community!) which I had to pad down, but that's being out in the country for you so fine by me. Lots of wildlife, such as rabbits and ducks to watch which the kids loved.
We were impressed with the layout of the campsite and the shower/toilet blocks were very clean and spacious. The family shower units are a fantastic idea as there is enough room to shower your children and keep clothing dry.
The village on which the campsite is located on the outskirts is lovely. The village has a couple of nice pubs and a shop and its a short walk from the campsite (about 15/20mins) to the river which you walk down a nice country road.
The campsite itself is by barrier access and has a strict 5mph policy so I felt safe to let my kids run about. They also have a play field.
The only negatives is several groups met up and got pitches next to each other (fair enough)on our second day but they tended to take over the pitching area with cricket where there was a dedicated area for that. Not great if you did not want to join in.
The worst point was we had drunk group with a radio up till 2am with loud music and being quite crude which I was not happy about since the campsite pointed out when I arrived they had a strict quiet policy underlining the 10:30 quiet time! I've got two young kids and had a long drive the next day my poor kids could not get to sleep. Our complaints and from those from other campers were mocked by the group saying they were on holiday but we and others were too and want to go camping for the quiet life. The campsite could have done better to enforce their own policies, other than that a great campsite and recommended.

Good site nicely located by the river, clean and well kept and good value we felt. Liked the layout of the Caravan pitches which were big enough to allow different set ups. Possibly let down by small on site shop. Staff were very helpful at all times and apart from the TV hook up not working everything was spot on. Entry to site was down a narrow road so a bit of care required but the site was well signed from the main road.

Positives:
Nicely maintained site with well-laid out pitches amongst shady copses.
Easy access from the M4 and close to Henley on Thames where we were headed for the Rewind Festival.
Had a very nice meal in the Rising Sun at Hurley.
Negatives: Big noisy site which was not what we expected from the description. Music blaring out from many pitches, despite there being a 'quiet park policy' - not upheld.
Free range children and barking dogs everywhere.
Toilet blocks dated, smelly and not particularly clean. Not much space in showers to keep clothes and towels without them getting wet.
Neutral:
Wardens harassed by the volume of vans arriving at once, so welcome was perfunctory, but more friendly on subsequent occasions.
Would benefit from a more tranquil adults only area.
Each to their own, but not sure we'd visit again, would try to get in to the Caravan Club at Henley which unfortunately was fully booked.

Just returned from overnight stay at Hurley (was to be 2 nights) campsite clean and quiet with toilets very clean and well appointed. Beautiful walks along Thames a must and couple of local pubs useful! More of a base from which to travel out than somewhere to remain as no entertainment etc (which suited us)
This was our first stay here but having now read others reviews it seems that for whatever reasons they appear to have become a little power crazy and rule addicted, people were commenting about this and our gripe was it appears you can pitch up with a 40ft motorhome with awning and gazebo etc no prob but not as we found out, pitch a 15 ft camper (2 berth) with small tent alongside which sat in front of our allowed gazebo taking up less room than most other campers and certainly not so rude as to be encroaching on others!
We were told we needed two pitches for this which was both unnecessary and plain daft but hey rules are rules so immediately asked to pay for adjoining empty pitch as had little option but apparently they were fully booked although various empty pitches around but if we could get by for one night all in our two berth camper then they would try to sort something in the morning although not necessarily together (kids 11 and 12)! eventually allowed to move tent onto next pitch for that night only with instruction to move early following day as surrounding pitches supposedly reserved.
We duly followed instruction and feeling our weekend dampened, we put tent away following morning as decided to go home later that day.
Nice quiet day walking etc before leaving late p. M
Interesting to note how many empty pitches as we left.
Overall it appears that management/wardens are in process of changing a format which from reviews was working very well and now is getting criticism

Used this site for legoland and London, found it easy to drive to legoland and used the train from maidenhead to London
Pitches were a good size and the site was clean had a big field for children to play and a small obstacle course could do with some swings
Security was ok had to use a key fob to gain access to the site but if you want to leave before the reception opened or after it closed you will not get you £10 deposit back when I went to check as I was leaving at 9. 30pm I was met with an attitude of tuff luck from the woman on reception not very friendly, so I have posted the fob back with a stamped address envelope so they can return my deposit this I have done out of principle
Will use this site again if cant find anywhere else in the area

We had two nights here with our two children as it was near enough to visit Legoland. It was ideal. Shower blocks were very clean and large. There's a good play area and nature trail. I had forgotten to pack any meat for our barby but their small shop supplied everything we needed. It's ideal if want a quiet campsite - there's no restaurants or pubs nearby but for what we wanted, it was ideal. I would stay there again and have already recommended it to others.

Showers nice and warm and clean did find the family block better showers.
Nice play area for kids and nature trail
Excellent for the river for boats etc
Ideal for all local attractions legoland etc
Staff very helpful
Did have a few heavy showers over night which flooded some off the grass pitches but I think the ground is saturated with the weather we've been having.

Just returned from a two nights stay. The facilities were excellent. The shower block /toilets were perhaps the best I've ever come across. Very modern with separate ladies/gents, there is also a very large family shower room. The pitches were large and spacious allowing for plenty of room for both tent and car. With a small negative being there were a number of molehills that, whilst they had been repaired had left a good number of patches of dirt outside the tent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Although, clearly they are very popular as we had tried to stay another night and they could not fit us in. A testament to their popularity I suppose. The location allows for lovely walks along the Thames and is in a great position for attractions such as Lego land. We would really recommend.
