We have not visited this site for 15 years and didn't know what to expect but we were not disappointed. Great surroundings, friendly reception staff, shop on site with basic supplies.
The toilets and shower blocks were exceptionally clean and there seemed to be someone their cleaning them three of four times a day. The family block is great, room for everyone to shower, wash and change at the same time with plenty of space for hanging clothes etc.
There was no litter on the site and it was peaceful most of the time. This was our first caravan holiday with our kids aged 6 and 7. We have definitely caught the bug and would return to this site again. In fact we have booked for three nights in May.
Our only regret with this break was we didn't bring the kids bikes as we wanted to walk into Hurley Village and half way there the kids got fed up am sure if we had brought their bikes we would have got there!
The kids made lots of friends during our stay and spent most of their time playing with other children in the middle of the field where we were pitched. We also took our dog who had a lovely time, lots of areas to walk him and with exception of an angry swan he was in doggy heaven! Definitely worth a visit!

We stayed for 3 nights. This campsite was a real surprise for use as it is surrounded by countryside and the river Thames. The owners were very helpful and pleasant when we arrived.
The pitches are quite big and the facilities are probably the best we have come across. There is a Tescos at Henley-on-Thames (5-10mins) and a shop at reception which sold your basic needs. We also ran out of gas while there and got a refill from the wardens office.
We went on a stroll along the river and were taken aback by the area. There were other people there at the same time as us, some young groups who had a laugh as usual but at 10.30pm not a sound from them at all.
On a morning we were woken by the morning chorus of birds, pheasants and ducks which were permanently walking around the site. There were also loads of rabbits and moles on the site. Legoland is 15 mins away and easy to get to. We also went to London for the day and took the advise of a previous reviewer and caught the train from Cookham, but I think Maidenhead would have been better as you have to change trains at Maidenhead to get to Cookham and we had to wait an extra half an hour.
Hurley itself is a quaint picturesque little village with basically a high street and few pubs. We will definitely be going back to Hurley as we would like to see a lot more of the area.

We chose this campsite because it was the closest to Legoland and we are really pleased we did.
We have 2 small children and were allocated an EHU pitch in a little field with lots of other families. The meant we were happy in the knowledge that the children could play without the fear that they were disturbing anyone.
The owners were friendly and helpful.
The toilet block was always clean and we never found it cold.
We have recommended this site to other people and will be be coming back again ourselves next year.

Gorgeous site, good sized pitches with lots of room for the children to play, sadly no designated children's play equipment but in all honestly this is not really missed. The toilet blocks were clean with lovely hot showers. The dishwash area also provided really hot water. The surrounding area is fantastic with the Thames being a 2 minute walk away, we really enjoyed watching the boats going through the locks. Will definitely be returning to this site as there is still a lot of the area we have not seen. As a caravanner with 2 young boys (aged 4 & 5) and 2 boxer dogs I would recommend this site.

Our first visit to this campsite and it was lovely.Very friendly staff, lovely big pitches with electric hook up. Lots of toilet blocks which were spotless. Showers were nice and warm with loads of room to hang your clothes and towels, me and 2 kids! There is a small shop in the reception which sells basics but there is a little village shop on Hurley which is only a sort walk up the river, this sells most things you would need.
We were on pitch 126 right opposite the toilet block and near the recreation field, which you can let your dogs off lead in. This was used a lot for ball games, our eldest bought a cricket set so we played that a few evenings, no need for a play area or a pool this site is relaxing and all about spending quality time with your family.
Location was amazing we normally do beach holidays so this was our first one away from the coast and we loved it. It was amazing walking out of the site and the river being right there. We have a chocolate Lab and he absolutely loved the water as did our 2 girls, 6 and 11.
We visited Marlow and Henley both of which were beautiful. There's a nice park in Marlow with a lovely cafe serving delicious food.
There are some lovely walks along the river too.
We hired a boat in Henley from Hobbs Of Henley,it was a lovely sunny day so we went for 2 hours so we could go through the lock. The kids drove the boat and the houses on the river were gorgeous.
All in all our stay here was fab, a great time was had by all we would definitely recommend this site.

The park is a lovely run family safe campsite.
Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and courteous.
The pitches are well spaced and well maintained. The toilet and shower blocks we used were fairly new and there were plenty of sinks for washing dishes and everything was cleaned regularly. There was also plenty of hot water throughout the day.
The site is literally on the side of the Thames and the pathways allow for a lovely river walk.
I'd have to comment that the only real issue we had with the site was the number of wasps. We expect bugs to be attracted to the area, but I don't think there was ever a time when we didn't have at least one wasp showing in interest in our tent. At one point I had 5 pestering me whilst I made sandwiches. I'm not sure this is entirely the sites fault but it did make staying on site a little less pleasant.
The site is ideally located for Windsor (about 15 minutes away) and all the other attractions in the area - it's far enough from the main roads to not suffer with noise issues, but close enough to everything to be accessible.

Exceptionally good facilities. Great showers and toilets, good area to wash up. Well kept grounds.
The warden was very friendly, although a little strict about where can pitch you tent etc. There was a small group of us and we were told we had to park our cars between the tents rather than camp altogether (we did slightly ignore this request).
It seemed very child friendly and was very near the river, where can sit and watch the world go by.
A couple of pubs were in walking distance.
I would highly recommend this campsite.

Great site - our second visit and this time we took friends with us. Staff in reception very helpful. The site is divided up by hedges into smaller fields which helps with privacy and units pitch around the edges only leaving plenty of space in the middle of each area for games of cricket, football or other activities. Pitches are all allocated when booking which is a great help. Toilets very clean and showers adequate. The site shop provided the basics and the village store in Hurley provided the extras which also had a couple of decent pubs. No playground or anything for children but there is ample space / wooded areas for them to make their own games and explore in safety. Wonderful location right next to the Thames with great walks in either direction to either Marlow (2.5 miles) or Henley (considerably further!) We only stayed for 2 nights so didn't have to venture too far afield but there is no end of local attractions if needed (Legoland, Windsor Castle etc.) Would certainly visit again and for longer.

What a fantastic site! Will be back! Big site but great how they had set it out. We were in a circle of pitches with a large section in the middle to play in. Game of cricket going on when we arrived which we joined in with, kids were happy to play around the tent. Toilets are spotless, even during heavy rain. Great walks nearby along the river. Plenty of wildlife around - rabbits wandering around tent and woke up one morning to five ducks sitting outside the tent door. Great base for Legoland (easy to follow route to park avoiding congestion on Unofficial guide to Legoland site!) Shop was reasonable with all the essentials. Best campsite we've been to! Worth a visit and at £20 per night for 2 adults, 2 children, fair sized tent and electric well worth it!

We stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of August as it was a great location for Legoland and Chessington. We paid £20 per night for EHU. The site is nice and level and drained well in the rain.
As has been said previously, the site is a large site but split into fields so you have your own area. This was great as the kids had plenty of room to play but were within sight all the time. There are no swings etc so kids tended to play football, frisby, badminton etc. It was lovely to see all the kids having a great time together. The day we went to Chessington we missed out on a massive water fight on the field between the adults and kids! If they wanted to play a rougher game of football, or cricket etc, there was a recreation field at the end of the site which they could use without disturbing others.
We found the pitches quite crammed in on our field. The poor chap in the corner (thanks to someone who pitched their tent without thought for anyone else) was totally hemmed in and could barely get his car in next to his van! They were so close we thought they were related and had done it on purpose to be together! Even though other fields emptied as the week went on (including ours) new arrivals seemed to be moved into our field rather than spacing people out a bit more. The field next to us, which was huge, only had about 5 units on it.
We did have some noisy neighbours, well into the night, but it's very difficult to control and we just made up for it in the morning while they tried to sleep in (till 12)!
The toilet and shower facilities were very good and clean, despite some rain. The cleaner was strict in making sure that children were accompanied in the family blocks, but at the end of the day this is for their own safety. The washing up facilities were also good - lots of full size sinks etc and very very hot water!
The walk along the river is lovely - don't forget your bread for the ducks! The ducks visited the fields every morning and the rabbits were always around, and were very tame.
We ate at the Rising Sun. The chap behind the bar was very friendly, as were the locals, and the food was lovely and reasonably priced - curry night on Tues and Thurs for £8.95 inc a beer/wine/soft drink. It's not a very big pub though, with only a limited seating area for eating.
My son (age 12) had the most dealings with the shop/reception as he took the freezer blocks up each day/and or did any shopping. He differentiated between the staff as being 'the grumpy man/lady' and 'the nice lady'. The one time we were late to collect our blocks my husband almost had his head bitten off because it meant the lady had to re-open the shop door to get them out! Needless to say he sent our son back the next night!
We paid £15 for 3 nights of Wi-Fi access, which is not anything to do with the park but sourced from a company who deal with a lot of sites, apparently. We found this a waste of money as we kept losing our connection. Whether this had anything to do with our location, who knows, but it was very annoying - however, nothing to do with the site itself.
We would definitely use this site again as it's in a great position for London and easy to get to. However, we recommend it to families rather than those who like a quiet life!
