This is a lovely site, very picturesque with the river running along the back!
It is a local site for me but still felt like I was a long way away when I was set up!
My only grumble would be that the water pressure in the toilets was so strong you had to stand at arms length just to turn on the tap and it still soaked you! also the showers were not very warm first thing in the morning, even though there were not too many people using them - I noticed that many went for a shower later on in the afternoon when the water was hotter!
Had a lovely easter break, the kids had a great time with all the freedom that they don't normally have at home - will definitely visit again.

We visit Hurley many times during the year and have to say that it is one of the nicest we have visited in the area. However (there's always a 'however' isn't there)... why why why can't people drive at a sensible speed through the site? There is a 10mph speed limit, please stick to it - for all our sakes! I agree with the shower comment. They could not only be bigger, but they could also have a hot/cold tap rather than the push button system with the pre-set temperature.
Hey, other than those little moans, the site is good, the wardens are friendly and we will keep coming back!

The setting for this site is so beautiful I can forgive the showers not being the best. Gin palaces floating by, huge houses, lots of space, you can walk to the river bank. Cycle to Marlow, nice little town. Lovely walks along the tow path of a summers evening. Walk or cycle into quaint little Hurley. Drive down the road to Henley, or Maidenhead or Windsor.
A wonderful part of England. We've been twice this year and once in 2003

We just returned from a very pleasant trip to this site. The location is exceptional. This most stunning setting enables wonderful picturesque walks along the thames path. Beautiful picnic areas by the water and plenty of open spaces. A trip to Henley on Thames , into hurely viallage and Windsor are a must when staying here. We will certainly be back.
On the whole the site was good. the new reception is now open but the shop and laundry were still not up and running. There are security barriers to enter the site which we thought were a good thing and each 'BAY' has plenty of space in the middle for childern to play etc. There were adequate amounts of toilet/shower blocks but to be honest they were disgusting!!! they were not cleaned at all the weekend we were there. They were full of cobwebs and insects, the taps soaked you and the whole sink units with water everytime you used them and the shower cubicles were too small. If they improved these facitilties, which are like prefab units disguised as lodges! then im sure the site would really benefit.
There were quite a few groups of younger people there when we went, but they were all keeping the noise well down after 11pm. Saying this, due to the location and ample pitch space we shall certainly be returning next year! Enjoy!!!

We have just returned after this our 3rd visit to Hurley. We were disappointed that you couldnt walk over the bridge to the river this had been removed due to people vandalising the toilets. But we still enjoyed our stay and will return next year, could do with a little park for the younger children who came with us this time.

Couldn't agree more with most of the comments on this site. The setting for the site couldn't be better, right on the Thames, gorgeous spot and small paddocks for pitches. We had days out in london (Maidenhead station 10mins away) Windsor and Henley.
There is a pub in the village (15mins) and the village shop which has everything you need - but cant help thinking the site are missing a trick not having their own for basic provisions its easily big enough.
Oh dear now the grumbles..cant agree with the comments about the toilet blocks. They are effectively 'prefabs' and the showers are some of the worst we've seen (and cold one day). The wife refused to use them due to general condition and clealiness - which meant much water carrying for me!! I used them and they are adequate, very small though, trying to get changed, and no room to open the shower door with your clothes on the fold down chair! Its a bit of a keep your flip flops on and dont let any of you touch anything but the water!!
Finally rabbits running everywhere - very nice but dont tread the poo through your awning!!
Definately finally, they seem to allocate pitches on booking so we squeezed into ours quite close to others when the other half of the paddock was empty - seems a bit daft!

July 2005 A nice flat site, plenty of toilet and shower blocks - the only problem being when it's busy the showers are cold, but too hot when it's quiet. The toilets & showers weren't the cleanest. Washing the dishes, well that had to be done outside, okay when it's sunny, not very pelasant when it's pouring down!!
A very big site with lovely walks by the river, the kids loved trying to catch fish, on the campsite there was a distinct lack of a playground for children, amazing particularly when there is so much space. Definitely recommend as a base for visiting legoland and london.

July 2005 July 2005: Two adults, 2 gits (15 and 11)
We chose this site for our very first camping trip ever because of the positive reviews on here. We had a weekend from Friday to Sunday.
We can only agree with the vast majority of the reviews because the site is wonderful. The layout of the park is very imaginatively done with small "bays" which make it seem much smaller and more personal. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful (but they didn't offer to help put the damn tent up!!). We have a SunnCamp Tourist Plus 12 XP, and had no problem with the pitch size; plenty of room for larger tents. Just watch out for the bunny holes so you don't twist your ankles!
The walks by the riverside are exceptional (if you're into walking!!), and we spent several hours wandering along the river bank in beautifull sunshine. There's a huge paddle steamer which comes up the river and is really something to behold.
Just one small grumble: we may have gone during a bad patch because there was a problem with the water in the loos and showers. It wasn't available from Saturday throughout the weekend, so we had to make do with using warm water from the kettle in the washing up bowl to have a wash. No-one else has experienced this, so it's probably a one off, and just our bad luck for picking that weekend.
We had a really lovely, relaxing time, in peaceful surroundings, and, not only would I recommend it, but have booked up again for this weekend.

June 2005 Nice site - flat pitches and plenty of room in between each one. Large site but separated up by hedges so seemed more private & sheltered. Toilets were clean and had free showers & hairdryers - showers were hot and powerful (could be too hot for children).
A long walk to the nearest pub - approx 30 mins. Lots of open spaces including picnic area along side of river Thames. No shop on site but supermarket approx 10 mins drive away.

May 2005 Just returned from our second visit to Hurley. We can't rate this site enough, for friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the site of course the beautiful surroundings. We will be going back time after time.
I have to say though - the site does need a shop. We walked past the local shop and ended up walking 6 miles (round trip) to Marlow for a few provisions!
