The site itself itself is lovely and is set in beautiful surroundings but I have to say I found the staff to be less impressive. It is also not very child-friendly. Granted, this site is marketed as a 'quiet site', but it is not Adults Only and children need to play somewhere. There is no playground and children who happen to make any noise whilst playing outdoors seem to be frowned upon by staff and other campers.
Another downside to this site are the signs at Reception which state that visitors are no longer allowed on site - at all. This seems to be a recent change as it differs to the policy stated in the brochure.
Lastly, the multiservice pitches on this site have an unusual (to me, anyway) water system (female) which requires a 'double male connector' for you to connect a normal Hozelock / Aquaroll type push connector to it. Unfortunately the site shop (which usually sells these connectors) had sold out whilst we were there so we had to drive to find a superstore that had them in stock before we could fully use our multiservice pitch. Perhaps this is not an unusual system, but we had never come across it before and you'd best go prepared with a connector if you are booking multiservice.
The facilities are clean and the site is well-kept but this was our first and last visit. Too many rules and regulations for us.

Just got back from 6 night stay at Hurley. Excellent site and would not hesitate to visit again.
Although the midweek of the Henley Regatta park was very peaceful it did get very busy at the weekend, but think that was more to do with visitors not actual numbers on pitches! I believe that's to be resolved soon as were lots of cars turning up and then gone next morning.
Very clean and sheltered pitches new toilet block very well appointed. Older block near us was cold on 2 mornings but if were same standard as new block would be 5 star. Hurley Village itself is gorgeous 2 pubs But only Old Bell serving food at time of our visit. Pricey but nice. £5.50 for a bottle of cider a little steep in my view
Local shop sells nearly everything you need and supermarkets 15 min drive away. Wardens were helpful but not intrusive and gave us all info we needed. We tried the Dew Drop Inn mentioned in previous reviews but new management took over no more free shuttle and thought food was only just above average. Will be visiting again though at some point

This is a much bigger site than we would usually choose, but it has been successfully divided into smaller fields with high hedges, giving the feel of a smaller site. Really well positioned, right next to the river, with a lovely stroll into the village where you will find a great little shop and two decent pubs.
Whilst I understand the need for rules and regulations, I did find the staff a little overbearing. We stayed for two nights with a group of 20 people and the only complaints we heard were in relation to the way the site is run. This may be a little harsh as we are used to small, friendly and welcoming family-run sites, and this is obviously a big, money-making business.

Just back from a two night stay at Hurley at must say both OH and myself somewhat disappointed given all the good reviews on here.
We arrived late on Friday PM and were directed to our pitch, rather unfortunately right next to a toilet block. Didn't think much of it as we pitched the tent and watched next-door's unrestrained dog relieve himself in three separate locations directly in front of our pitch.
We went out to meet some friends in Maidenhead and returned later that evening, hoping for a good night's sleep - the campers were all very quiet to be fair, but the handriers in the toilet block? Oh dear. Every time someone went to the toilet - 30 seconds of infernal whirring. All night.
We managed to cadge a lie-in the following morning and had a lovely walk down the Thames to nearby Marlow - about 4 miles away. Had a wander around the town and the park and then wandered back and had a lazy afternoon around the tent. We then headed off to meet up with friends again. When we returned we were as quiet as we could possibly be, creeping into the tent and wincing with the zip, so important do the owners seem to make the no-noise rule.
Unfortunately they don't enforce it. At all. A group opposite were consistently loud through to about 1/130 in the morning, and of course we had to deal with the incessant hand driers!
To be fair, the site is very well kept, with hedges breaking-up the fact that it is a very large area, along with multiple toilet blocks. But, probably due to the large size, they are unable to enforce their own rules.
Some suggestions to the owners:
Cut the power to the hand-driers after your 1030 no-noise time, to be fair to pitches nearby.
Take a walk around the site after hours to make sure all of your rules are being enforced.
Do this also during the day - too many large balls being kicked around too hard.
But above all - abolish your rules if you won't enforce them!
We had planned to invite our friends back for a BBQ but were told that guests were not allowed due to the potential for excess noise, so were upset when we then spent a fair amount of the night being kept awake by noise. The noise wasn't the owner's direct fault to be fair, but if they'd enforced their own rules, then there wouldn't have been a problem.
We were also glad that we hadn't brought our daughter due to the number of loose dogs (another non-enforced rule) around. But then, she would have been allowed to play ball games anywhere she wanted - another non-enforced rule!

Spent 10 nights here in total and thought that the camp site was great. Had a large grassy pitch with a hedge to the side and one at the back of us.
Cycled into Marlow (great park for the under 10's and nice cafe) and attended Hurley's village Fete which was excellent fun. Visited Henley on Thames and was disappointed really. Not much there and people less than friendly. Did have a supermarket though (Waitrose)and quite a nice looking church. Also visited Legoland which was about 15 miles away, Thorp Park and Chessington which was approx 1 hrs drive away.
Kids made lots of friends and it was a struggle to get them into bed. Maybe we were lucky but most people in our area were child friendly and no-one complained about noise etc. The only niggle really was the fact that the the hot water in the nearest shower block was basically cold on at least 2 mornings.
Suggest getting to the shower block really early before all the hot water runs out (I went at 7.00am one morning and it was very nice). There are mixed family showers in the middle of the site with a large changing room / toilet / sink and shower.
The plus side was that the water was hot however did feel that the cubicles lacked privacy and would have preferred males on one side and females on the other. Did see some teenage boys lurking around the showers acting quite suspiciously but may have been my overactive imagination. You can never be too careful though and Hurley is a very large site when all said and done with a large variety of people constantly coming and going.
At the time I visited the family showers they were particularly dirty. Probably just bad timing as had noticed the other shower block was kept very clean. Staff were helpful and chatty, location great, lovely river walks, kids had a great time and were sad to leave.
Would like to go back again and just enjoy the site rather than using it as a base for the theme parks. Some of our neighbours did complain about the no visitors rule which seems to be a bit harsh if you have family living nearby that you rarely see. I am sure that the wardens could make some allowances. No over night visitors or 4 hours max. Perhaps it it something that they need to give further consideration too.

What a gorgeous little site on the outskirts of London.
Camping and touring areas set out into smaller fields so didn't seem crowded at all, we were on pitch 32 and it was convenient for all facilities and there were only around another 8 units in this area.
Facilities good, clean. Warden very friendly and welcoming, small shop on site selling basics.
Nice walk down to River Thames and into Hurley village. Convenient for visiting London (we drove in, no congestion charges on weekends), we parked in St Pancras Station £20 which was cheaper than catching train in. Legoland well worth a visit also.
Very nice little hidden gem of a park that we will most definitely return and recommend.
No kids play area but don't let this put you off, kids just played with others on the site and all seemed to be enjoying themselves!

Again a warm welcome from the site warden on arrival we were 2 hours late due to traffic snarl up on M40.
Not a lot has changed since our last visit in 2006 Toilets, showers always clean and tidy. Plenty of rabbits to watch and pellets to avoid. The whole area is kept clean and grass kept low so cant see how anyone can grumble about the pitches which are plenty large enough for car, caravan and awning without feeling crowded.
One thing that has changed to me, is the long walk to empty grey waste water at toilet block! Or is it me that's 4 years older.
Would recommend this site to any of my friends and will visit again I am sure.

The wardens were friendly and efficient. They were very knowledgeable.
They kept a very well maintained site, the toilets and showers were clean and the showers hot, I did feel that the showers' press button could have kept the water running longer lasted only about 7 or 8 seconds but I got used to it.
The site is mostly level although my pitch (7)was in a dip off the road and I bottomed out. I'm not a moaning minnie usually and it certainly did not spoil my stay. My wife and I enjoyed the river location, the walks were so relaxing, so much going on along the river.
I am arranging to stay again shortly. They have a loyalty scheme where you can get a two night stay free when you have stayed on seven occasions they stamp your loyalty card. Worthy scheme, great place

This is a nice site and I generally agree with all the other reviews but I feel some things should be pointed out.
On arrival I received a very warm welcome. The man at reception was pleasant and jovial which always helps with first impressions.
However, whenever a site wishes to allocate a particular pitch my heart always drops because I know it will be the one nobody else wants and this was no exception. The site has a serious rabbit problem and the pitch I was allocated was pitted with rabbit scraped hollows which would have made pitching a tent with a SIG very awkward. Pitches nearby didn't look much better either.
I returned to reception and asked if they had a pitch without the holes and being low season I was offered a choice of 10, most of which were similarly pitted - fine for caravans but not so good for tents.
I eventually found one that was suitable but after parking my car and starting to get the tent out of it's bag I noticed the pitch littered with hundreds of short twigs (hedge cuttings) complete with thorns which would have been great for puncturing my SIG and probably not too kind on caravan or car tyres either. Eventually I managed to clear these away handful by handful until the pitch looked safe to use!
It needs to be pointed out also that this site is right under the Heathrow flight path where low flying jets turn to position for landing and there is almost constant noise from jet engines. Some reviewers say they were woken by the dawn chorus. For me this included large metal birds which drown out most other natural sounds!
I don't know if the toilet blocks are supposed to be heated but despite closing them the windows were always opened again, I assume by the cleaner, which is all you need on a chilly night or morning. They were, however, kept immaculately clean all weekend and once the hot water arrived at the tap it was very hot.
However, if you can cope with that then the area is very pleasant and there are nice walks in both directions along the Thames Path either to Marlow (about 3 miles) or Henley (about 6 miles). The Marlow direction seems to be the most scenic.
Hurley is about a 15 minute walk away and is basically a small village with two pubs. I did see a sign stating 'post office' but it seemed to be on the wall of a hairdressers and I didn't see a shop but apparently there is one there somewhere.
One pub, 'Ye Olde Bell' seems to fashion itself after a top London Hotel and you will pay top London Prices. Apart from sandwiches starting at about £6.50 the cheapest hot meal seemed to be about £12. A steak pie and trimmings seemed to be about £17.00 and veg was extra! A pint of bitter (a nice pint actually) cost £3.20 and a bacardi and coke came out just under £5.00 - even the barmen apologised for the prices.
The other pub, 'The Rising Sun' gives the initial impression of being a little 'run down' but they do sell food and drink at normal pub prices, a bacardi and coke being £2.80. The locals are very friendly and sociable - guess where I spent my evening and had a jolly good time?
I walked to Marlow, a little over an hour with a stop for coffee at Hurley lock and to take photographs on the way. I did try a rather awful beefburger in a stale bap, chips, and a stewed coffee at the cafe in the park at Marlow and paid over £8 for the privilage - not to be recommended!
The campsite on the whole and once I settled in was quite pleasant. The area was certainly very scenic and I had an enjoyable weekend but I would advise taking your own food and drink or a lot of money. Not a place I would want to return to.

This is very well maintained site and although it is very large it doesn't feel that way as the campsite is split into smaller fields separated by hedges.
The toilets and showers are clean and there are family shower rooms with a toilet and basin and lots of room to get the kids washed and dressed. The washing up areas are outside and have plenty of hot water.
A short walk will take you to the river and a short drive to Henley where you can hire a boat on the Thames.
