Stayed here over the May bank holiday weekend with a large family group (20+) who were in five tents and also one fixed caravan was hired. Overall, we thought this was a good site that is worth visiting but there are a few imperfections. The site was split into fields separated by hedges with generous sized pitches (for England). The hedges seemed to give good shelter against the high wind we experienced. Each field had an area of open space in the centre as well as there being a dedicated field for playing - top marks for this. The caravan was absolutely excellent - either brand new or recently refurbished - and very comfortable. The toilet blocks were a portacabin type that could use upgrading - I can't see why a site like this cannot have a purpose built block. The toilet and showers were too narrow even for smallish people - very large campers would really struggle. The push taps released water at ridiculous pressures - it was easy to get soaked and could potentially be dangerous for young children. The washing area was very exposed to the elements and did not have a bin. We generally found the staff friendly and helpful though one of our party said that the "grumpy" campsite manager told his kids off for looking at leaflets. I did a lot of research to try and find a place for our large group to have Sunday lunch. Put off by bad reviews or the expense of some of the nearest pubs I settled on "The Dewdrop Inn" in Honey Lane which was superb. Very friendly landlord called John looked after us - good beer and good value food. It is slightly off the beaten track but worth going to. It takes about 3/4 hour to walk to though go the cross country route if you can find it as walking along the main road is not fun - the local council have not cut back the hedges and we didn't enjoy sharing the road with fast cars. The site suffers from some noise from nearby Heathrow. Great walks along the river Thames - swans and ducks aplenty.

We stayed here for two nights (13th and 14th April), and were very pleased. The pitches are spacious, the site is broken up into fields lined with hedges and trees, which really helps cut down on noise. The ground is pretty flat, but if you want EHU, you have to share fields with caravans, which means the pitches can have holes in them from caravan legs.
Toilet and shower facilities are plentiful, clean, and free. The water can be a bit hot at times. Also good facilities for washing up!
To get into the site, you have to drive through a parking barrier which only operates if you have a pass card for which you have to pay a £2 deposit.
We'd happily come back to this site; its well run, very attractive, next to the river. There were some noisy campers (actually caravaners) around, with satellite dishes, and radios, but to be fair, they all went quiet after 10pm.
The main down side would be ambient noise - at night, you can hear the traffic from the A404M and M4 and other roads, and the site is also on the approach path to Heathrow, so from 5am you hear 747s overhead.
For reference : we were camping in a Vango Diablo 600, with two adults and a child.
Overall, I would give the site 8/10 - recommended!

A great site, we've used this site nearly every year for more than 10 years to hold our Scout Group "Family Camp" the site has always been very welcoming of us and given us space to setup. We liked it so much we used for a family long weekend last summer. Henley is a nice little town has some good playgrounds to take the kids too, there are plenty of walks along by the river, and plenty of places to eat as well as supermarkets for supplies.
Pitches - are a good size and didn't feel too cramped.
Toilets / Showers - well maintained and cleaned everyday, never had any problem with them not being hot, one thing is that they are a touch narrow for the slightly larger man, sometimes found a little tricky to move around and get changed.
Staff / Reception / Shop - have always been very welcoming and friendly especially as there is normally a big group of us. There was no shop as of last visit but you can walk into Hurley which has a small shop. About 5 minutes away.
Security - I do like the fact that this site has a security barrier which need to put down a deposit for when you arrive, gives you that little extra piece of mind.
Overall - a nice site which we are always happy to back to. See you in July!

This is a really lovely site situated right near the river Thames superb walking along the Thames footpath and easy access to many lovely towns. As already mentioned Tesco in Henley for supplies but for an abundance of shops Maidenhead worth a visit. As we stayed only two nights we didn't see as much of the area as we would have liked but what we did see we enjoyed very much . Back to the site, Extremely well kept, toilets spotless, cleaned every evening. Made to feel very welcome on arrival, the impression given nothing would be too much trouble. However this is a large site and when in season and full may not suit those in search of peace and quite like my wife and I, but will be back next year (out of season).

What a great site this is. Plenty of room an every pitch, and each area is small and makes it feel like a very small site, when it is quite a large park. The heated toilets and showers (which are free) are excellent and kept clean and tidy with as much hot water as you could want, also plenty of washing up sinks for all. Situated on the banks of the Thames it is an ideal place to chill out or is central to Oxford, Windsor, Henley and many other places to visit. Tesco is at Henley or if you want an experience try the Tesco Extra at Slough its ginormous! There is a large field to walk dogs or for kids to play. However we didn't find any official play area, perhaps a small investment in some playground equipment would be a bonus. The only downside as we see it was the charge to take your car onto the picnic area on the river £25 for 2 days Which includes £9 membership joining fee. As both my wife and I are disabled being able to take the car on would have been a bonus. We would award the owners and staff 110% for friendliness and value for money and recommend it to anyone.

We have just returned from a wonderful five days at this site. Apart from some overhead aircraft noise as planes took off from Heathrow, we couldn't fault it. The showers and hairdryers were free and kept spotlessly clean. The site was quiet and, due to the screening hedges, felt much smaller than it actually was. The adjacent river was just beautiful and we walked along the Thames Path into Henley and Marlow. Spent a very enjoyable day in Windsor too. We had a very good meal at the Ring o' Bells pub a couple of miles away. They were offering steaks for two people, including wine or pint for £12.99. My advice would be to give the Red Lyon a miss though! We'll definitely return next year, hopefully with other family members, and hope to stay for the Regetta next time.

This was our second visit to the park. We took along some friends as the last time we went was so good. This time I am afraid to say I was very disappointed. We was met at the reception by a Very rude man. It seemed like it was a problem for him to serve us. He then came round of the night and told (not asked us )to move one of our tents as they was to close together. If we was asked we would not have had a problem, but it was the way that he spoke to use that was very upsetting. Well into the early hours there was a group of people playing loud music. I did feel for the family's with Children in the groups. The Park was very busy and the toilet block did reflect this. However I do feel that they do need to be refurbished. Hot water is a bit hit the miss. Beware of the taps as they are so power full you end up with water all over you. This is a very nice park with good dog walking areas. If you can try to speak to the lady that is on reception as she seems friendly and help full.

Our first visit to this site, recommended by parents visit a while ago. Fantastic site if you want to visit nearby legoland which was our prime objective. Short walk down to the river Thames and the kids had a great time swimming there. Nicely laid out site and good-sized pitches. Showers were a bit his and miss, sometimes hot, sometimes cold and same for the washing up water. There is a shop on site apparently but we only found it as we were leaving, it's sort of an off-shoot of the reception area. Tesco is on the Reading road out of Henley and we had very nice fish and chips from a chippy not far from there on the corner of a little road on the opposite side. All in all a very nice site and we'll be back!

We chose this site originally just as somewhere to stay for two nights whilst we went to legoland. But we were taken by surprise just how nice it was. Lovely big pitches, well laid out camp site, all sectioned off areas, so it doesn't have the "large" feel to it. The toilets and showers were ok, portacabin, not the best we have seen, but they were ok for us. But this should not put you off such a lovely site. There are lovely walks from the site along the Thames and into the village of Hurley. We were sorry to be going home after just two nights and we would like to go back to spend longer at this site.

We booked three pitches for caravans each with electric hookup and were all allocated in the same area, next to each other, which is always nice. Upon arrival, we checked in and were greeted by a friendly lady who quickly processed the booking and directed us to our pitch , explaining where the facilities etc. were. The site is very spacious and we more than enough room for each unit with awnings up. The field was full of rabbits which made for a peaceful afternoon / evening, watching them run around. There is an on-site shop stocking the basics, and although I do not know the opening and closing times, it was always open when we needed it during the day. The toilets and showers were very clean and did the job well, they were only a portacabin style block, but were more than adequate. There is a large dog walking field on-site, which is away from the touring fields and quite large and certainly enough to tire out my Border Collie. The site is located next to the River Thames, however you do need to walk out to the entrance of the site, and then down to the right, through the static caravans, to get to the river. We strolled for a quite a while down the Thames, with dogs and children on bikes, and it is nice and flat and very relaxing, we even all went for a paddle at one point! Hurley is the nearest village, and you will find a couple of shops, selling the basic essentials, however the village itself is very quiet and beautiful. If you require a bigger shop, then about 8 miles away in Henley on Thames, you have a Waitrose, Tesco, off licences, clothes shops, pubs and restaurant's and pretty much something for everyone. Overall, this is a nice campsite, very quiet and relaxed and with some great walks from it. I will be returning to this site when next in the area.
