We went here a couple of years ago and enjoyed it then, but this time was great they had done up the shower and toilet facilities and converted one of the barns into a cafe.

This is a basic site so don't expect to go and find a swimming pool. But this is great if you have kids that just like to play football and have a bit of imagination.

They have a lovely petting corner with rabbits, pigs, cows, chickens, goats etc.

he lovely marsh beach is on the end of the campsite it is not a sandy type beach like in Morecambe centre but its great for little explorers, my children loved looking for crabs and tiny fish in the little pools of water.

I would definitely go again and recommend anyone to go.

Only thing I would say is the showers are a pain as you have to keep pushing it as it goes off after a bit, but this is to save water so not a huge down fall.

 Camped here Friday to Sunday.

Site is nice clean and toilets were clean ish, (the grasa had just been cut and there seemed to be a lot of grass in toilets/showers all weekend. )

Site is good for kids as they have a petting area for the kids. Didn't use the cafe but was advised by others that it was a tad expensive.

Only down side to the site is that it is rather hilly so if you are not first on the site you may find your self sleeping like a bat.

Also as others have advised I can be windy, we were lucky that it was calm when we set up and put down.

On the plus side it is cheap and clean. And there are lots of shops locally.

Spent a week here - weather ranged from extremely wet and windy to still and sunny. Camped in top field on hedge side and got full force of wind - snapped a few tent poles. Fields are huge and no restriction on where or how to pitch unless you want electric hook-up. Tents share the fields with motorhomes and cars.

Toilet block was clean, water hot, showers on v short timer. Cafe good for breakfast if you can wait until 9. 30. Noise was not too bad - you can hear the trains but be glad if you do as that means you are not battling a strong wind coming in from the west. There are contact numbers you can ring if site noise persists late on.

There is a tight entrance through the farmyard to the fields but I did see a very large motorhome make it although it had to leave behind the van it was trailing.

Will return to this site.

We have visited the cafe at this site whilst visiting the area, so decided to try the campsite too. I rang to book in the morning as we were setting off, as I was hoping to book 1 of the 4 EHU pitches, and was lucky that there was 1 available.

The EHU pitches are in the top field on the edge where you can see the sea, these pitches are divided by fences, whereas the rest of the touring area is just in 2 fields. A large area of the fields is on a slope, but there are a few flatter areas if you look. I have never seen such luxurious grass, it was green and thick, and cut nice and short.

The toilet block looks quite new, with plenty of facilities and very hot water. The taps are a bit of a pain, they are a bit stiff to push on, then you get a powerful spray for a few seconds. The block was cleaned during the day when we were out. The 3 ladies showers that were open had blocked drains.

There are 4 washing up sinks with hot water outside the building, 2 are under cover, plus an outdoor shower, useful for rinsing off muddy feet.

The area is beautiful and unspoilt, you can walk along the shore either into Morecambe or towards Carnforth, also the canal goes through the village and you can walk or cycle along there too.

Look out for the cross bay walks, these are on certain weekends in the summer, led by professionals. Don't wander out into the Bay on your own.

This site is a good centre for holidaying in the area, with the Lake District not far away, Morecambe, Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale, Ingleton all in easy reach.

This was our first camping trip of 2011 and we are so glad that we chose this site. The overall feel of the place is great; relaxed, friendly, welcoming.

The two camping fields are gently sloping with plenty of flat ground for pitching tents. We stayed in the upper field and the view from our pitch over the bay was beautiful.

I am a light sleeper and didn't really notice the trains, the noise from other campers is about what I would expect, not too late, but later than the advertised 10pm quiet time.

The cafe on site is great - only serves until 3:30pm, but the breakfasts looked great and they also do take away if you don't fancy cooking for yourself.

The walk into Bolton-le-Sands is about 15-20 mins where we found a fantastic Indian restaurant and a few nice pubs.

Overall we'll definitely return.

When first arriving onto the coast, the view is breathtaking. The farm itself is located right on the bank to the coast making it ideal for a relaxing or walking holiday break.

When arriving we had to go into Archer's Cafe to sort out keys etc and then were told we could pitch anywhere. We pitched on the lower field near the hedges to shelter from the wind but it didn't really help to be honest. Once pitched, we realised we were only a few feet from the chicken hutches behind the hedges. Although they were lovely to watch and allowed to roam all over the fields, they sometimes drove the dog potty.

The site was clean and well looked after and the showers were not dirty but were cleaned daily. The showers were hot and free however you have to press the button every 4 seconds making it impossible to shower properly. Being 6ft2, I also had to bend down to actually get in the showers- I have seen a lot worse though in previous sites.

The site is a working farm and there are lots of noises around including chickens and cows and this makes it very appealing to me. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the site and also enjoyed waking up to nature.

The 'slight slope' is very optimistic, as in some areas there is a huge incline, although this didn't affect us.

The site is around 20 minutes walk to the local pub, 5 miles from Lancaster and around 2 miles to Carnforth centre. Excellent place, lovely setting and we will be going back!

Just returned from a last minute 2 night stay, with my wife and our cocker spaniel simba. Phoned the site in the afternoon for arrival at 7pm with no problems. The site is in a lovely coastal position, which is why we chose to give it a go however, the sea view description is a little creative because the sea view only seems available from a select few pitches at the top end of the two touring fields.

Due to our late 7pm arrival the reception was closed but a sign informed campers to go and choose a pitch unless the ‘site full’ sign was showing. The top field seemed the busier of the two so we decided set up camp on the lower field and also chose a more sheltered position because the top of the field seemed a little exposed to the wind. Plenty of space between pitches and my wind concerns were unnecessary because we ended up with the hottest weekend so far this year, absolutely gorgeous sunshine throughout our stay.

That was worth the £6 per head nightly tariff alone, no charge for dog ! Shower and toilet blocks very clean and modern, plenty of hot water always available (free showers).

Beach just outside the farm/site entrance, great for strolls with the dog although as previously mentioned it’s more muddy than sandy and I wouldn’t advise straying too far out. Left to ourselves, which suits me but the staff seemed cheerful and were on hand if needed throughout the day in reception/café. Didn’t sample the café although it looked very nice and modern and previous reviews recommend the breakfast.

The site got much busier on the Friday and the outside edges of the field were near to full but still plenty of room across the middle of the large field. Surprisingly the toilet/shower block seemed to cope well with a nearly full site and we never experienced any queues. Didn’t really venture out and about because we wanted a chilling couple of days and we were also restricted regarding local pubs/restaurants because of the dog.

All in all a good little site, no frills but lovely clean basic amenities in a lovely location, large open pitching fields with plenty of room for kids to play safely. Just be aware the noise from the nearby train track sounds like a low flying helicopter each time a train passes by and this goes on till past midnight and started again at approx 6am on the Friday morning (this may not happen on the weekend). Didn’t really disturb me but if you are a light sleeper or have younger kids it may be an issue.

Having read previous reviews I have to say that I was somewhat disappointed. We were the only people in the top field and only one tent in the lower field but even so the toilet block was dirty on arrival and the same dirty washbasin was still there 3 days later. We never even saw the pets corner.

The approach to the camping fields through the farm is very tight at one point and I would not like to be driving a large motorhome through or be towing a large caravan outfit.

You don't get a lot for your £6 per night per person + £3 per night electric.

Location though is good with easy access to Morecambe which doesn't have a lot to offer but a decent Morrisons, indoor market and Sainsbury's. Carnforth is similar distance in opposite direction where you can find a Tesco. Lancaster is also close by but parking a motorhome is near impossible as car parks are either multi-storey or have height barriers.

Had a great holiday, and at £12 p/n good value.

Should have realised it was a windy site when we saw the trees growing horizontally! Stayed mainly sunny though, and had gorgeous views to sea.

Pitched in top LH corner of the field with views - no probs at all except for a few kids who kept popping through the hedge! Site has noise rules, but these weren't enforced and we were kept awake by same kids who had obviously come for a cheap weekend boozy jambouri!

A self-confessed clean-freak, I found the facilities rather dirty. Only cleaned once in whole 2-night stay, and even then, there were plasters and clothes tags still evident. There was only one cubicle (female) that had a bench, but the light sensors didn't pick me up so had to shower in the dark! Water was lovely and hot, and free, although had to keep pressing the button which was annoying. Hairdryer (20p) - was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! On the plus-side: loads of loo roll! Dishwashing had hot water, but sinks very mucky. Blocks were provided for BBQs.

Had a couple of lovely walks up & down the coast and into the villages, then back along the canal - most pleasant!

1 night stay only to check out site for later in year. Easy to find, bang on the shore, great staff, even better café.Licensed too.

£6 per adult & £3 for kids over 5 so great value - same price all year too, none of this ramping up for 'peak' season.

2 fields, not so 'gently sloping' in parts but chocks sorted us out. Sign up saying site full but the edges of the field weren't full & no-one in middle so looks like they operate to a set maximum number for people rather than physical space.

Tiny gripe - not enough places to put stuff when in shower. A couple of hooks but no shelf/seat. Must be getting picky in my old age!
