What a little gem! Wonderful little campsite and incredible value for money - half the price of most other places. Went with my sister, 7 year old and 2 dogs with EHU. The petting area was wonderful - my daughter named all the animals after family members (the pigs creased us up!) and I didn't see her for most of the weekend. Very child friendly with plenty of signs up to warn motorists. Camp site was fairly quiet and only 4 EHUs - so booking advisable. Since our trip we have enquired and no go on EHUs for the rest of the bank holidays, shame as we would have booked again. Was fairly entertaining putting the tent up as the top field gets the full force of the wind, the lower field looks more sheltered. Would definitely go again provided the weather forecast is no wind! Facilities are pretty basic but on the whole can't fault it.

What a nice site this is, we came as a family with two tents. Just a shame electric hook ups are hard to get as they only have 4, but we really enjoyed ourselves. Its a working farm and you can see the cows being milked, the chickens come up to see you on the tent field, you can go and see the animals in the pets corner, lovely little lambs, pigs etc. Plenty of room to pitch the tents, showers, toilets were good and a place to do the washing up. A great laid back attitude of the owners. We had a nice time here and will be back again the end of May

Red bank farm is a wonderful site tucked away in Bolton -le-sands, what a prize it is price is per person and is only a small sum to pay. I landed there on a Saturday and stayed a week (Ii was visiting a friend stayig there!)
The facilities are cleaned twice a day, the there are two shower units in each toilet block, with free showers. Yes the hot water supply suffers in the rush, but you dont NEED to shower in the morning there are other times of the day also!
The washing up facilities are quite sparse being two sinks and one and a half drianing boards.
The camping field is on a hill, there are two fields the top field with its amazing views over the lakes and the Bay and the bottom field with a little more shelter from the constant and sometimes pleasant wind. There are only 4 EHU's and so this does have to be pre booked.
The owner did say that should he get a lot of campers he would open up another field so there could be a lot of camping space to be had. The farm sells fresh organic meat ( Their own stock) and organic free range eggs.worth a trip to buy them but you do need to order.
As others have said there is the pets corner full of oooh and ahhhhs and hand washing facilities for when you leave the petting area.
This is a fantasitic and friendly site and I hope that the good nature of the wonderful owners isnt taken advantage of, and so spoiling its peace and calm for others.

Just returned form a very relaxing and peaceful break at Red Bank Farm. We went with friends and we virtually had the camping field to ourselves. Our children enjoyed having the space to run around and play ball games etc. The best part of the trip for them was watching the cows being milked and being given the chance to feed some lambs with bottles of milk. The views from the farm are fantastic, not to mention the beautiful sunset every night. There are plenty of places to visit but we enjoyed walking into the village or along the shore. The toilet and shower facilities at Red Bank are basic but they are cleaned every day and were always spotless. This was our first visit to Red Bank but we will definitely visit again in the near future. The children can't wait!

Although this is dated on our most recent visit, we have been to Red Bank Farm on 4 previous occasions. So yes would highly recommend for families. Our 8 year old rates this as his favourite ever site. The only disappointment being that it is now becoming very popular as more people find it. The sunsets & views from the top field are amazing, the fresh salt marsh lamb (the farms own) is the best I have ever tasted on the BBQ while camping. The toilet facilities are on par with the cost.

We called at this site for 2 nights and stayed 5. It is a truly wonderful site, so relaxing. Basic facilities but very clean with ample toilets and showers for the size of the site. The whole family of owners go out of their way to be friendly. It is a working farm and chickens roam all over the site, they are beautiful. The pets corner is just as popular with adults as with children and the animals are obviously all well cared for. Ice packs are frozen free of charge and showers are also free. The site is central for visiting Morecombe , Windermere, Kendal and the lakes. Take an evening stroll along the shore and rest awhile on the benches there and watch the sun go down.A perfect end to a perfect day. We shall definetly be returning to this site.

An excellent site we have visited many times. Good clean basic facilities, friendly helpful owners, lots of animals and the chucks will amuse for hours. The sunsets and views are breath-taking and there is lots to see and do round about. We have battled the wind and rain as it is quite exposed but it is well worth it and you can pitch in the bottom field which gives a little more shelter. The paper man and ice cream van visit daily ,a nice little extra. Ideal for everyone.

My family loved Red bank farm, site owners are great with the kids. Kids can watch the cows being milked, there is also a petting farm with rabbits and other small animals. There are two fields to camp in with a few hook ups available so booking is advisable fore them. Also, there are free roaming chickens which the kids found very intersesting to watch and if you are lucky will come in your tent if given the chance. There is washing up facilities and showers and toilets but at peak times hot water supply cannot keep up with demand. Only downside is the trains which run frequently throughout the day and night(ideal for trainspotters) but after a couple of nights you do get used to them. At peak times like bank holidays some people can be a bit too noisy, Im not a party pooper but it can be a bit anoining when you are trying to get your kids in bed and there is music and people laughing too loud after nine o clock, but apart from that a great site, very accomodating even for disabled people as this week there is a party of disabled in wheelchairs and the owners are letting them use a barn where it is flat for cooking. On the all a good site for families

We love Red Bank Farm, it was the first place we ever camped at. It is very peaceful, and the kids enjoyed watching the trains pass by in the distance. There are chicken sheds in the lower of the two fields, the kids enjoyed feeding them, they all come running over clucking their heads off, you never tire of it! There's also a pets corner, which is nice too. It is a working organic farm so you can watch the cows being milked in the shed in the farmyard. They also sell fresh eggs and organic lamb at the farmhouse. You can go for a walk just beyond the site along the bay, go towards Morecambe and you will come across a nice tea room at Hest Bank by the railway crossing. The facilites on the site are basic, but good, plenty of toilets and hot water and showers. It's all you need for a relaxing break, we would very much recommend it.
