This was our first camping trip (my 5 year old son and myself). I chose Red Bank Farm after reading reviews on this site and its reasonably close location to where we live.
The site has two camping fields, both on a slope. The grass looked as if it had been cut recently. The site also accommodates a number of static caravans. You have to go through the farm complex and past the caravans to get to the fields.
The toilet / shower block is relatively new and is well equipped, however, the showers could have been a bit hotter. Archers Café on site is a bit expensive, but it does sell some good food.
The site is located on the coast north of Morecambe with easy access to the beach (across the salt marsh). When the tide is out this area attracts power kites and land yachts.
Thanks to Ashly55 for the information about the local pubs – useful to know if you don’t want to cook yourself.
A good first camping experience, which we hope to repeat.

Spent the last weekend of the year at this wonderful site. It is a well kept farm campsite.
We were the only tent there, which we thought was quite funny if not a bit mad. But there you go! Bear Lake 6 stood up to tough late October weather! Great location- several good pubs within easy walking distance! The Royal at Bolton Le Sands and The Hest Bank - fantastic food at both!, try Steak Frites at Hest Bank! The EHU made it for us! Can't wait for next Easter!

RED BANK FARM is a family run site. It is a working farm but they have two camping fields which are in an idyllic setting on the coastline near Morecambe.
We were recommended the site a few years ago and try to go several times a year (weather permitting). It can get quite windy as it is exposed to the elements but when the sun is shining we love it. Plenty of space for all size of tents and the site owners are very welcoming. Ideal if you just want to get away for a weekend and chill out.
The shower block is brand new and is always clean and tidy, last time we went there was 4 or 5 electric hook-ups ,they could do with more but its all about cost.
Morecambe is only several miles away and the near-by walks with the dog are superb. There is a animal corner which is very popular with the kids and there is a fantastic restaurant at the entrance to the site.

Our fifth visit to this fantastic campsite. Great views, loads of space for our 2 Lads to run around and make friends. Lots to do nearby, would recommend Happy Mount Park in Morecambe, free Splash Pool, Water Jets, Trampolines, Crazy Golf!
All in all a great campsite, just a word of warning the wind can blow heavy at times, due to the Location. Just peg all your guy ropes down, all will be fine.
Will Be returning again without a shadow of a doubt. Love the Place

A really nice site. I've stopped here a few times over the last 3-4 years.
The owners are very friendly.
Try the Salt Marsh reared Lamb - its quality!
I've recommended the site to friends who went last week with their 3 kids. They loved it! Especially the Pets Corner.
Definitley looking to visit again next year.
Oh, and it's as cheap as chips!

Arrived here on what must have been one of the rainiest and windiest days for a long time, we had booked on the phone a couple of weeks prior for 3 nights at £13 P/N, and I was begining to wonder what I'd let myself in for. We drove through the farm entrance and called into the archers cafe (and reception) where I paid the fees. I was given all the info needed and carried on up the sloping field to a pitch with EHU (stated at booking), needed levellers and was quite muddy, eventually got sorted. It was a bleak picture over the bay with all the bad weather coming at us.
Next day fantastic weather and we were lifted, walked into nearest place (bolton le sands) approx 1 mile - 20 mins, there was a chippy and two pubs, which, at the time, were keeping three police cars and crews, plus helicopter, busy, so we did'nt bother with either. Also the walk was not very inviting at night time so we stayed in.
Another place to walk to is Carnforth which took approx 45 mins -2.5 mile, where you can find a tesco and a booths supermarkets also a few pubs and a chinese, we walked the canal bank back as it was busy/noisy at the roadside.
We also walked into Morecombe which took about 1.5 hours, approx 5 mile, where there is everything you need and some wonderful shopping malls.
On one occasion we were taking the dogs for a walk but as we were leaving the site, was confronted by a growling rottweiler and I had to shout it down just as the owner came out of the farmhouse, so was very weary going through there every time.
There is no beach here as I would call it anyway, it's more like mudflats there's plenty of grass on the beach anyway.
The shower block looked new and everything was very clean although I never saw anyone do it, pity there was no stool or shelf in the 4 showers so it was a juggling act with two hooks, plus you get a measly five seconds of water before you have to press again so you can't have a decent shower, also there was no mop installed so floor was a bit iffy.An outside potwash and shower for kids in summer were also at the block.Would maybe stay for a night here again but would rather pass through.

This site was certainly great value for money - £10 a night for an adult, 2 kids, plus dogs!
The showers/loos were cleaned every day we were there. Plenty of hot water in the showers. An outdoor hot shower for sandy kids and dogs was a great idea - kids used it each time they went on the beach.
The beach was not your usual sandy beach, it was rather sludgy and sinking sand in some parts, also hilly grassy areas to navigate before reaching the sand - but it was all good fun.
The site itself was clean and there was a choice of pitching in one of two fields - the lower one away from wind, or the higher one with sea views.
Free range hens wander through the fields which was nice. There is a good pets are for the kids. Although I will say I felt very sorry for the guinea pigs as they seemed to appear rather neglected, lack of sawdust/hay etc :(
Nice cafe which was rather overpriced, but as it was a holiday you don't mind treats now and then.

What a hidden Gem this site is.
The three best points are:
- Location, right on Morecambe Bay and, yes, it's a Range Rover buried in the mud!;
- Facilities, the cafe and the toilets/showers are first-class, and look like new;
- Price, not only is the cost model simple, but they're also good value. When I went recently the charge was £5/adult, £2.50/child. I try and avoid the sites that squeeze every penny out with per person, per tent, and per car charges!
The only down-side is that the site has few level pitches, though they're not too bad and they are reasonable flat, so make sure you pitch your head uphill of your feet!
The Lake District is within driving distance, as is Lancaster Castle & Williamson's Park. For eating we walked along the coast to the Hest Bank Inn next to the canal ***great beer***, and drove to The Curry Leaf in Morecambe.
We had a restful night - free from tents with Party-Goers - despite the Stormy Weekend Weather.
Highly recommended

We chose this site on recommendation only 90 mins away. Two families of four with ages of children 3 - 13. Lovely site consisting of two fields. We were on the lower field which doesn't give the better views but still was pleasant. The new facilities were good with four various shower cubicles and about 10 toilets lovely hot water all free. Wash basin hot water came out very quickly. No park for the children but a pet corner with about 8 different types of animals. Cafe on site did't use but had a delicious ice cream. Also bought the recommended salt lamb burgers which we all enjoyed.Very near to the beach and sea. Lots of sand buggys using the vast space of sand.
We did a lovely walk along the front into Bolton Le Sands and found an excellent pub serving food which we ate at and would recommend and the bottles of wine are £10 with very friendly staff.Has a beer garden and a play area for the children. Dogs not allowed inside. The beer garden leads out to the canal where we walked to another pub again child and dog friendly although not as busy had just been taken over.
It is possible to walk into Morcambe we didn't. We went in the car and walked along the front. Plenty of supermarkets. Morrisons Aldi etc. The usual sea front amusements and a clean beach with sand.
At Carnforth there is a Tesco. If travelling up/down the M6 recommend to get of at junction 35 for Carnforth and not 34 for Lancaster.

We managed to book 1 night at this really nice site. Set off in lovely sunny weather and look forward to our stay. We were not restricted to a specified pitch so were free to wander and look around. Pitched up in the top field which overlooks the bay, great views from here. The wind had picked up by now and after struggling a bit got the tent up. By t-time the sky was very black and then wham! gale force howling winds & lashing rain. This was relentless all night, thought we were sure to lift off. At 5 am I was in the car, looking at flattened and bashed about tents. How we didn't all end up tentless I'll never know.
What with no sleep hardly sad to say we had had enough for this camping trip and unfortunately the wind hadn't died down enough to calm our frayed nerves.
For those who like to stay out of the wind, they would fair better in the bottom field, this looked to be more sheltered (their tents didn't look like ours did).
At £10 a night we would defo stay here again with better weather conditions as it is really nice. Grass kept cut, toilets/showers good, didn't get chance to sample archers cafe, but hear it is worth a visit.Funny to see chickens freely clucking their way around, if you pitch in the top field the cows come right up to you, they would be in your tent without the fence lol.
Anyway, all in all I would recommend this great site, bet its brilliant in good weather and fantastic views across the bay.
