This site is really lovely, it's set on a working farm (where our boys got to feed the lambs) and there is a pets corner. There is also a gorgeous cafe with indoor & outdoor seating & also doubles as the site reception.

The staff are great, very friendly & obliging.

There is a tiny area of statics (loads of kids - which was great for my boys) and then the tent/touring field. The field is on a gentle slope but copeable with. There is a water tap on the field along with a large bin.

You can have fires (in a basket) & bbq's but they must be set up on large stones (which are all provided).

The shower/loo facilities are first rate, very clean (looked brand new to me), they don't cost anything but the button on the shower is about 10 seconds long so you have to keep pressing every few seconds to keep the hot water flowing.

There are four EHU but we just used our gas & battery.

We were very lucky with the weather, it was red hot from arriving Friday teatime right through to when we left at 2pm on Sunday, so we got to appreciate Morecombe Bay at it's finest.

Cost wise I think it's 6 per adult per night and 3 per child per night, so, not the cheapest, but well worth it, just for the stunning views.

Whilst you are on a farm, you are literally on the shore line, so the sand is on your doorstep, however, big be aware, take advice before adventuring out onto the sands too far out, there is a reason this huge beach area is practically empty all the time & that is because there is Sinking Sand (there is actually an old wreckage of a half sunk car!), and everyone should remember the Chinese Cockle pickers a few years ago, so the tide can just creep around you and then you could become stranded.

I wouldn't let this ruin your stay though, we took advice, went on the beach, but didn't venture far & the kids loved it

This is a nice site with stunning views across the bay. The showers are quite new and were very clean

With lots of hot water, although you have to keep the button pressed in for the water to run. Walked to Indian restaurant in village which was excellent. Also Archers cafe on site does a mean breakfast. Quiet site, would recommend and would use it again.

We went to this site in sept 2010 what a lovely site, we had a large tent & there was plenty of room. Although there is no children's play area my 5yr old grandson really enjoyed playing on the large grass area. Its only a short walk to the sea where it's good for walking with the dog if you have one, where there is a lovely cafe, that do meals. We did not eat there but was told they do nice food. There is no shop which was a bit of a let down as we ran out of milk. The toilet block is all new & very clean, only 2 pot washing areas which for a site this size was not enough. There is a short drive into Morecambe & Carnforth. We will definitely go back to this site good all rounder !

Stayed here for four nights and I have to say that at £6 per head (less for the kids) this is a very inexpensive place to stay. There are few frills at this site - it's a couple of fields on a fairly substantial slope between the sea and the west coast main line railway, so you have regular noise and a constant breeze - but you are left pretty much to your own devices and are free to pitch where you like and use whatever equipment you choose (apart from camp fires).

It's a wonderful experience being able to take your children camping on a working farm. You are surrounded by sheep and cows in adjoining fields and the chickens are left to roam around the camping fields. Being able to watch the cows going in to be milked on your way to the shower block with the kids is a diverting experience. There is also a lovely little petting farm and an on-site cafe.

The close proximity to Carnforth, Lancaster and Morecambe means that you'll never have to travel more than three or four miles to stock up on provisions and the local villages of Bolton le Sands and Hest Bank are walking distance away (15-20mins) and have the usual small convenience stores, take-aways and restaurants. You will have to get used to single-track lanes in order to get to the site, however, but there are plenty of passing spaces and most drivers seem to be cautious on the road.

The facilities are clean and perfectly adequate, but those used to club sites might find them lacking in certain respects. My wife reported that there was no hand soap in the ladies for the length of our visit and the showers are of the kind which require you to keep a button pressed constantly to keep the water flowing. I do appreciate the need to conserve water, but surely a thirty second or one minute timer would be a fair compromise. The washing up sinks, being outside in the yard as they were, did give the impression that they could easily be used for washing muddy boots (or other things!) - but the water was scalding hot on demand.

In all though our stay at this site was a positive experience and, for the money, one we wouldn't mind repeating.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend here. There are two huge camping fields with loads of space for football, flying kites etc. We also had plenty of space around our pitch, the pitches weren't marked out so we were able to leave a nice gap between us and our neighbours! It seems to be a very clean and well maintained site. The first field is slightly more sheltered, but the second has absolutely gorgeous views across the bay. The showers are hot, and the shower and toilet block remained clean and well maintained over a very busy weekend. Soap and toilet paper were replaced when they ran out. The cafe is lovely and reasonably priced. There are loads of animals for the children to see. We did venture onto the 'beach' but it was very muddy - bring wellies! Our only problem was the wind, which was so strong it damaged our tent on the second night. Apart from that we had a lovely time and would definitely return here. There's plenty to do in the area, Windermere is only a 45 minute drive.

Went in July for 2 nights in my big tent with a big group of family and friends. It was sunny the first night and rained all night the second night!

The campsite was all good. Bit of a slope but get your airbed the right way round and you will be fine. The cafe is lovely and very welcome especially when raining. The pets corner is great for the kids in fact the whole site is great for kids - lots of space. Very close to beach, which was good for walking dogs and kids! The showers are lovely and well maintained. Newspaper delivery was good.

Only constructive criticism would be more bins.

We went into Morecambe for tea and for a drive to Silverdale and Arnside, which was lovely.

Unfortunately, I became ill on the trip we had here in April, so I was a bit fed up! But the site was lovely, fab facilities with free showers in a lovely block and a bargain at £6 pppn. The owners/workers there were great, very helpful, polite and made you feel welcome.

The Archers cafe is a little pricey, not too bad though, and was a god send when I felt ill on the last day and just didn't want to cook breakfast, just went in there, had a lovely breakfast, and then chilled out in there with a few brews, very cosy : )

The site is just next to the sea so you can get straight on the beach, loads of fun for kids, and grown ups alike! We were a group of 3 mid twenties couples and enjoyed seeing the animals and playing on the beach with kites! Little things eh?! Our friends are into the kite boarding, so was perfect for them, gets very windy down there.

We didn't really do much but stay around the site and beach, so cant really comment on the area, but if you make your own entertainment on site, its a pleasant place to be :)

I must say, we ventured into Morecambe for a couple of hours one day, wasn't at all impressed with Morecambe, which is a few mins drive away from the site, not much there at all. Was dissapointed :(

Just returned from a long weekend at red bank farm and have had a great time. We booked an EHU pitch which was situated overlooking the bay with fabulous views and stunning sunsets. It became quite windy and blustery during our stay and we certainly felt it being in such an exposed spot.

The field we chose was pretty quiet and had a mix of families and couples of all ages and everyone was really friendly. The site has impoved since our last visit with a lovely clean toilet and shower block with ample free hot showers.

There is a cafe on site but due to the lovely weather only visited it to book in and buy ice creams. There is also a laundry too but we didn't use this facility.

One of the best bits for our children was the farm animals especially feeding the chickens and watching the cows being milked. There were many paths and places to explore on the site with many walks off the site.

There is a tesco in carnforth and a morrisons in morcambe for you supplies.

Visited here May 2010, 2 adults and a dog for £12 per night.

2 generous camping fields, we went on a Sunday afternoon for 2 nights and had plenty of space to ourselves.

The campsite was very tidy and the owners friendly. The shower blocks were clean, only complaint was that there was nowhere to put stuff while having a shower and the push button 'tap' didn't last long between presses but this was a minor point.

There are chickens wandering around the camping field which created some entertainment! Also there is a petting area which included lambs, rabbits and goats. A nice touch if you have kids.

Sadly the cafe closes at 4pm on a Sunday and all day Monday so we didn't get the chance to use it other than to order a snack to take away for our return journey but it did look very nice and we hope to use it if (when) we return.

The beach is a bit muddy in areas but interesting and widespread. The dog loved it as I expect would children.

The trains were more frequent than I expected and there was the occasional loud one but generally the track was far enough away and the trains were quiet enough to not cause disturbance.

We will definitely make further visits to this site.

Stayed here over the heatwave weekend, did not use the cafe apart from buying ice cream so cannot comment, although it seemed quite busy. The toilet block was quite new and regularly cleaned.

The site was quite busy with quite a few motor homes when when we were there but it was still quite.apart from a few children making noise after 11pm. Although with the weather being so hot we were still sat outside at this time.

Not far from morecambe and its many amenities. We visited happy mount park just at the beginning of the prom as you enter from carnforth end. Plenty to do for the kids although charges apply to some of the activities.

We visited the royal hotel in bolton le sands lovely meal although a bit on the dear side, nice surrounds and a large car park opposite.

The site is right on the edge of salt marsh which gives you lovely views especially if you set up in the field with the electric hookup. The tide comes in and out very quickly so be careful if going for a walk on the sand, sand is also quite soft so be careful.

Finally lovely site great for a weekend or short stay.
