Visited for a weekend with my Son to explore the Brecon Beacons and to climb Pen-y-fan.
The reasons for choosing the site was location, the camp fires plus the excellent reviews on this site. I must say that we were not disappointed, a lovely site with a relaxed feel about it, and as other reviews have commented everything is new, clean and basic (but nicely done). My type of camp-site !
We pitched up next to the stream, quite close to the waterfall. Cooking, eating and sitting around the fire was next to the bubbling water was really special. We just loved to sound of the running water and it really added something unique and memorable to the trip. Also, is nicely masks the small amount of road noise although you could still hear the pitter-patter of rain on the tent.
Weather was a bit hit and miss but we had a great trip anyway, managed some cycling along the Taff Trail and my 11 year old son dragged my up Pen-y-Fan which was breathtaking (literally and spiritually).
Sad to leave and we'll certainly plan to go back, probably with the full family in tow next time. Also passed recommendation to several friends.

We visited this site over the late May bank holiday weekend with our two children.
The site is really pretty set with lovely trees, a stream and a beautiful water fall. The sound of the running water makes this a very special place to camp. The owners were really friendly and made us feel very welcome.
The chickens running around gave us some great entertainment. They eat everything and are not shy about coming in the tent.
The owners had put a big swing on one of the large trees. This gave our kids (and all of the other kids on the site) hours and hours of fun. It was lovely to see the children having so much natural fun with something so simple.
Campfires were also great. You help yourself to the fire pits and buy the wood from the campsite owners. Lovely to have a real fire and the smell was great!
The facilities on site are simple and very clean. My only concern was that two showers for the entire site was not adequate when the site is busy - which is was when we visited. There was never a very big queue, but the facilities were not really adequate for the number of campers during our weekend.
Brecon is a nice little town in very easy walking distance, so you can get all the provisions you need, have a drink, a meal, a coffee etc.
Some lovely walks and bike rides in the area. Loads to do.
Would certainly visit again!

We stayed here one night over a sunny weekend. The site is lovely and quiet, next to a river. Brecon local enough to get all supplies, we picked this site as its one of the closest to home that allows camp fires. Facilities clean and never had to queue. Site was busy weekend we stayed but it never felt full or crowded or noisy. Log seats were a bonus, having to buy your wood from owners not so good. Bit expensive paying per head.

Priory Mill is an excellent campsite, we really enjoyed our stay. The site is easy to find and is in a lovely setting next to Honddu river. The facilities are top notch and the toilets and wash areas were always kept equipt and clean. We climbed Pen Y Fan while staying and would recommend this walk Http://www.Bbc.Co.Uk/wales/nature/sites/walking/pages/mid_pen_y_fan.Shtml
Positive:
Fires and BBQ's available, No radios or music allowed, Value for money, Not over crowded even when full, Close to Brecon (10 min walk), Beautiful scenery, Next to river, friendly owners, Recycling friendly.
Negative:
Close to road - although you barely notice it.
We will definitely stay again. 4 days was not enough.

An amazing site. We have been coming here for that past 3 years and being local to the area it is a site we visit at short notice and Susie is always accommodating.
Our 5 year old son loves the swing and we are always fortunate to be able to pitch in full view of the tent so he can go off and play whilst we relax at the tent.
The use of the fire-pits is so welcoming and nothing beats a real fire out in the open and toasting marshmallows.
The chickens are there in the morning having a good old nose around the tents, but they are most welcome.
There is always a good selection of books available for you to read and we always bring some of ours to swap over.
The toilets and showers are always very clean and also smell fresh. Although it can be a busy site you feel like you have the site to yourself a lot of the time as it is so peaceful.
We will keep coming back to this site, it is one of the best!

Highly recommend this beautiful campsite. The location is perfect - small, peaceful and well kept. The facilities are spotless and very new. The are some really thoughtful services like log seats, fire pits and logs, recycling and map hire.
This is a relaxed site, with none of the formality of a site geared up for caravans, and with no electric hook up's, it means that those staying are true campers. The site is only a 10 minute walk into Brecon.
Susie, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful.
My only criticism, would be that this is an expensive site as prices are per head, so family of 5 would cost £26!

Honestly. One of the best campsites I have ever been to! We are experienced campers and like a campfire so normally expect quite basic facilities to get one. However at Priory Mill Farm the small wooden shower and toilet block is immaculate! Lots of lovely hot water ( 50p per 4 minutes ) and perfectly clean.
Logs and kindling are available from the house and there is a lovely little hut where you can get the campfire trays and also the odd book if you've forgotten yours.
Despite quite a close road there was very little traffic, and you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere, despite being only a 10 minute walk into Brecon itself.
Lovely! I am planning to go back as soon as possible!

I'm loathed to write this in case they're full for our holiday's next year!
Here goes anyway! Yet again, we had a super, super 10 days with Noel and Susie at Priory Mill.
We managed to get our tent where we wanted, made super friends with the chickens again, they came every morning for breakfast and by the time we left, they'd taken up residence outside our tent!
Again, it was super clean, and well maintained, the weather was kind(ish) to us and we were made to feel so welcome again.
Our son played on the swing again and has asked if we can go back again next year, which we certainly will.
Points for this site are however:
If you're looking for a loud park where kids can ride bikes around and annoy everyone, run around all evening screaming, this is NOT the site for you!
If you want peace, tranquillity and a restful time, with quiet children who just like to play peacefully, it IS the site for you!
If you're not happy to chip in and mop the floors if you've made a mess, it's again, not the site for you!
If, however, you want to help keep it lovely for others as well as yourself, then it IS the site for you!

Arrived at this site around 5pm on a Friday after booking - was greeted very pleasantly by the owners who were a lovely couple. We chose our site, got setup and had a look around.
It's beautiful. Simply put. The road is up the hill so does not bother you with noise, and if you camp by the river all you'll hear is the wind in the trees.
The facilities were excellent, the pitches pretty flat and the ground mostly soft, though I used rock pegs for those troublesome peg points!
Facilities were clean, showers hot and powerful enough. If I had to be super picky I'd say it's a shame there isn't any handsoap in the washroom.
Other reviews have noted that the washing up facilities are not undercover. This is true - we had good weather so didn't bother us, but I can see it would for others.
The campsite is a short walk from Brecon, great if you just fancy a pint or a meal there, and a short drive (10 mins/3 miles) from a free NT carpark for walking up Pen Y Fan and into the heart of the beacons.
I had a fantastic stay here with my chums, and I'm so impressed I'm coming back again.
The winning touches to this site were:
1. Friendliness
2. The provided fire pits (just need to buy charcoal from the site)
3. Gorgeous location
4. Clean facilities
Oh and the chickens and jack russel were great, just don't let the beggars near your bacon!

We have just got back from our 2nd wonderful visit to this beautiful campsite this summer. My 11 year old loves it especially the tree swing, building dens the other side of the river and the chickens clucking round the tents.
The facilities are very clean with toilets, washing, showers, washing up, freezer and honesty bookshelf. There are also plenty of BBQs/campfire pits to use. An easy walk into Brecon for supplies etc.
The only reason why I have marked child friendly 8/10 is because of the river tumbling by.
A very friendly, clean and peaceful site I recommend and will be returning to very soon
