Turn into the narrow road opposite the Talbot pub in Uplyme and the site is 200 yards up the hill. This is a very neat site. It is very well ran and is cared for by very willing staff.
The pitches are allocated depending on your outfit size, we have a large tent so were limited in pitches, but the whole site is comfortable.
The toilets and facilities were good and clean, and the shop was stocked with enough to get you a decent meal. Under 8's have to be supervised by an adult when using the facilities. We paid £23. 25 per night for 2 adults and three children.
Uplyme has a useful shop in the petrol station and a reasonable pub (Talbot) that serves good food and real ale. Lyme Regis is 1. 5 miles walk away, a pleasant walk along the river that is peaceful and quiet.
The site staff helped with advice on fossil hunting and had a good collection themselves.
Highlights for us were mackerel fishing in Lyme, nightjars and glow-worms at Trinity Hill, fossil hunting and this enjoyable site. We would go again.

Great site, lovely views down the valley as site is terraced. Very friendly welcoming owners and park wardens.
A little bit more expensive than we usually pay but worth it for a well maintained site.
Shower block and toilets were very clean, lots of hot water - only two showers so probably busy in high season (but there are two shower blocks on site).
Local area has pleasant small market towns at Axminster and Bridport. Forde Abbey is a great day out. Some interesting local walks around Uplyme village itself - get an OS map and explore!

Visited this site for 3 nights mid June 2011. Whilst I didn't use the shop it appeared to have all the essentials.
Very helpful warden who, after reading out the site rules to me, guided me to my pitch with electric hook up on a well laid out site which is on a hillside but tiered.
The pitches themselves are flat and in good condition with excellent views across the valley. The facilities are newish, clean and in good condition. Free and constant hot water for washing and dishwashing with a 20p charge for a 4 1/2 minute shower.
Whilst I was visiting outside school holidays the 3 men's showers are likely to be adequate at peak times at 4 1/2 minutes a go. The site appears to be geared to people wanting a quiet, peaceful location with campers seeking their entertainment elsewhere. Possibly too quiet to feel child friendly.
It is a good 30 minute walk to Lyme Regis itself which is a lovely place with clean beaches, an impressive harbour (the Cobb) and friendly, helpful people.

Delightful well run site in a super location. Facilities were good & kept clean most of the despite the rain & mud being tramped around. Showers are 20p, could do with a bit longer so make sure you have a spare 20p to hand if it runs out mid shower.
Staff were friendly and there is a good shop on site which is a real bonus as you don't have to keep going to the shops for supplies. The site attracts a good bunch of neighbouring campers & the layout is good with no sense of overcrowding.
Our kids made great friends with the neighbouring children & went off 'exploring' but the site is nicely self contained so there were no worries.
Lyme Regis nearby is a really super little town with windy roads & some lovely little shops. There is a great chippy in the middle of the town which is highly recommended. Bridport a bit further down the road is also worth visiting.
All in all we highly recommend this site & will be back.

We stayed here for four nights off-season and found it excellent. The approach was round a sharp turn and up a steep, narrow hill but was a piece of cake (and this was only my third outing in a caravan ever!). The welcome was warm and helpful and the staff were always willing to help with problems and advice. They even saw us on to our pitch and ensured that the hook-up worked. The toilet block was very clean and well-equipped though with a bit more fresh air we were used to, having been pampered by Caravan Club Rolls-Royce standards of indulgence. There were tents on site but few children (term-time). The views across the valley are spectacular and the birdsong unbelievable - I could very happily just have sat and read instead of hunting for fossils on the beach. (Don't get children too excited about potential finds they can take away - we found very little weighing less than a hundredweight: utterly fascinating, but disappointing if you thought you'd be picking up ammonites by the handful.) The off-road walk into town takes 30-40 mins and passes an excellent fish-bar (we were advised to avoid the one on the seafront). Lyme also has the best tea-room ever, behind the car-park opposite the sea-front clock-tower: leaf tea and cups-and-saucers! The clock-tower is where the bus stops if you'd prefer not to walk back. We shall probably return to Hook Farm with the grandchildren.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this campsite. It is very well kept and organised and has a beautiful setting. Toilets and showers were well stocked and clean and to be honest, I don't mind paying 20p for a shower if it means you get plenty of hot water!
Location, very peaceful, most pitches have nice views over the hills and there is a beautiful walk along the river to Lyme Regis.
Bad points - we did find the site a little strict and regimental - when we arrived we were given a full blown speech about the 'do's and don't s' of the site. Also, the wardens were walking around doing inspections at night with a torch and we were asked to be quite at about 11pm - we were only talking outside with our neighbours (we weren't being loud or rowdy) This will suit couples who want a REALLY quite break but we felt we were walking on egg shells after that! Also, although the top soil was good and flat, it was very stoney underneath so most people seemed to be getting frustrated with not being able to get the pegs in - I would recommend taking some spares as half of ours got bent!
Some people will love this site as it is very quiet, but it was probably a bit too strict for us as we wanted to relax too but didn't really feel we could.

The site is to a very high standard and is one of the best that we have stayed on.
We were camping with electric on a lovely spot, which you had lovely views. We were very close to the top toilet block, which were spotless at all times. The showers are very clean.Their is a small campsite shop that sells fresh cakes and bread with all the other things you need for camping. The prices weren't over priced too much.
Their is a small playground for kids but their isn't a lot on it,but it didn't seem to bother the kids. The campsite is in a perfect spot to walk in Lyme Regis taking 45min.
There is a petrol station and a pub just before you turn into the lane for the campsite. We didn't go in the pub so I don't know what it is like. All in all we loved this campsite and will be going back to stay some time. Please go cause you will have a lovely stay.

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend at Hook Farm. The site is run professionally and to a high standard. The upper toilet block which we were using was spotlessly clean at all times despite the site being full because of Bank Holiday.
We did not have to queue for a shower at all - and how nice to have large cubicles with plenty of hooks to hang your stuff on and space to dry and change!
The site has a small feel due to the terracing and lots of lovely trees and you can see a lot of thought has gone into the pitching - I think most pitches have a view.
The on-site shop is good, selling lots of essential items at reasonable prices. The walk into Lyme Regis along the River is lovely and certainly easier than driving and parking.
We could not fault the site at all - well done to the Hook Farm team
We will definitely go back again and again.

Have just returned from two nights at this idyllic campsite. The site is cleverly terraced on the side of a valley.
We were lucky enough to be given a spot on the highest level, where there were no children, the views were spectacular and it was very grown up camping!
Really quiet (apart from the birds), met some great people. The staff were absolutely charming, couldn't have been more helpful over a mix up with the booking (my fault, not theirs!) and the whole experience was fantastic.

Just spent a long bank holiday weekend at this site. In a lovely area with views from this peaceful campsite.
Toilets and showers very clean, and the showers - though 20p for 5 mins - are hot and powerful. Helpful staff. Free use of freezers to freeze ice blocks.
Lovely 45min walk from campsite through woodlands to Lyme Regis. Small play area but did not distract from my son's enjoyment! would recommend.
