Have just visited this site and had a lovely peaceful time. Not the site for you if you like clubs etc, but everyone was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, we will definitely be back.

Now to talk about the site. The shower and toilet blocks are very clean and always had hot water and loo rolls etc. The pitches were spacious and had hook-ups the ground sloped slightly.

The walk into Lyme Regis was nice but be aware if you have children it's up hill all the way back. Although on arrival at the site we were given directions for the walk and bus stop location and times for the return journey.

We stayed at this site in the last week of October and had a lovely time. Terry was the site manager and was very friendly and helpful. Very few people were booked onto the site so it was very peaceful. Decent sized pitches. The road up to the site is quite narrow and steep, but we were able to get out adria altea 542 up there easily.

All of the toilet facilities were well kept and clean and it was a pretty site with some lovely views. You'll need 20p for the showers which we found were always warm.

Dorset is rural and picturesque and Lyme Regis has some interesting shops and nice restaurants.

There is a decent pub at the bottom of the hill (Talbot Arms) and they do reasonably priced take aways and pleasant, plain food.

It is true, you can find large fossilised ammonites at the far end of Lyme Regis beach. The kids loved that!

We'd recommend this site and we are glad we stayed.

Super little site tucked away on a slope approx 1 mile from Lyme Regis. Staff very friendly & helpful. As a backpacking camper we were pleased that a main route bus stop was only 300m from site.

Showers very clean, just enough facilities and a basic quiet and peaceful area. If you enjoy on site entertainment like bingo and kids disco this is NOT the site for you. But if a green and pleasant spot is all you need head for Hook Farm.

This site is not commercial so not much in the way of facilities. The staff were very friendly. They tell you on arrival that you will need lighting because there are no lights at night if walking to the toilet.

There’s a small kids play area and a shop. We really loved the footpath which takes you down to Lyme Regis. It’s about 45 minute walk but we did have a 7 year old with us who moaned all the way! In Lyme Regis you can spend time on the beach or wander around the town.

In the Uplyme village there’s a pub and a small shop which was well stocked.

Our pitch was fine but not the biggest we’ve seen (they do ask for your tent size when booking). The site was very quiet which suited us fine. The toilets and showers were very good and cleaned daily. You need 20p to use the shower but we didn’t find this was a problem.

We will certainly book again.

Spent a week at Hook farm during August. Although the previous week they had heavy rain, the pitch was well drained, and not that muddy. The pitch we were allocated vas very spacious pitch (number 52), which was ample enough for our Vango Diablo XP900. A couple of downsides to this pitch: - Very stony. Lost count of how many pegs were bent and very close to the park. Although we had our 2 boy’s (2 & 6), the other children used to use our pitch as an overflow to the playground. The campsite itself was spotless. Countless bins over the park, with recycling for glass. The top shower block was always clean, and 20p got you a nice hot shower. Had the usual washing machine & tumble dryer for about £2.50. Also had 2 freezers so you can freeze you own blocks for no additional charge. Although we did not eat at The Talbot Arms (Pub at the bottom of the hill) the food looked very nice, and large portions. They also had a takeaway service, at very reasonable prices. Drive to Weymouth was about 45 mins, or an hour if you go the beach roads, however the scenery is stunning. For great views, I would recommend going to Portland. Torquay is also about 1hrs drive. The staff was really helpful and always talking to the kids. The on-site shop was well stocked, with the usual array of items, that you might have forgotten (like can openers). A pint of milk cost 80p. Would use this site again, but ask for a different pitch.

Stayed here for three days, lovely site. Was very full but terraced layout meant that never felt too crowded. Staff were friendly, their tip on the £1 per day car park in Lym Regis was very useful.

Kids spend all evening playing with new found friends. Site rule banning water play equipment a good idea as it stops kids drenching all and sundry.

Shower blocks never seemed busy and were always clean. 20p gave ample time for a shower. Shop was reasonably priced.

Rained a couple of nights but site seemed to take this in its stride.

Lym Regis is only a few minutes away and Charmouth not much further.

To stock up on provisions, there is a small Tesco and Co-op in Lym Regis, bigger(but not huge) Tesco and Co-op in Axminster

Would recommend.

We have just had 3 days at hook farm and we enjoyed our stay. The facilities were very good, showers clean, operated by 20p coin but plenty of time to have a good shower. Toilet area, washing area are good too. Good for families as there is a play area. Pitches are ok but many on slant but doesn't cause any problems.

Although our pitch was under trees and on a slope we still enjoyed our stay. The little shop on site was useful, the owners were very helpful as well. Without a doubt we will return again.

Spend 4 nights at Hook Farm during the first week of August, after a period of continuous rain

In this area:(

On arrival we had a friendly greeting by Adrian and staff, and were allowed onto the pitch early (as vacated), which allowed us a head start to set-up before the rain. The reception/shop is very nice and well stocked.

We had 2 adjacent pitches with EHU to pitch a Monty 6 + extension and a Bear Lake 6. Pitches were semi-flat, and due to continuous rain before arrival were showing evidence of mud!, however we managed a decent set-up before the rain resumed. And stayed for most of the week with 1 ace day in the middle (fortunately the Monty was upto the task).

Site setting is lovely, with pitches tiered and amenity blocks are never far away, with top (new) block being excellent and showers @ 20p are very good.

Site is generally very peaceful and well spaced pitches.

Off site, we did the riverside walk into Lyme Regis on a very wet day, so could not quite appreciate the the doubless beauty of this walk as we got totally drowned.Needless to say we took the roadway back and to after that, which is lovely in itself but there's no avoiding the steep climbs!

Food shopping available via Tesco Express or Co-Op in Lyme Regis (5 mins car drive), or large Tesco supermarket in Axminster (10 mins).

Lyme Regis is beautiful (our first time here), and the sea front/beach is lovely and largely unspoilt, and if you take the car there is a large car park at the top (steep drop down stpes but not too far from the beach), and costs only £1 per day.

Didn't try the local (Talbot Arms, about ten mins walk down the hill), but looks very nice.

Overall, would recommend this site + location and would definitely return, but would like the weather of course!

Really well laid out site-although there were a lot of people on the site you didn't feel overwhelmed and the pitches were well screened and private. Toilet blocks were very good-20p bought a good hot shower. Only one problem-when I used the showers in the lower toilet block-shower did not turn on when meter started-could not work out which was hot and cold- had very bracing cold shower. Always very clean. Washing machine and drier-freezer for your freezer blocks.Shop well stocked with food and basic camping items you might have forgotten-not too expensive either.Friendly helpful owners.Quite a steep but pretty walk down past the river into Lyme Regis. You can walk back up the road if you want (also steep). Lyme Regis is a lovely little old-fashioned Seaside town well kept-nice beach and everything else you could want.Ate at the Clock House pub in Chideok-very nice food and good service at a good price.

We spent three nights (23rd, 24th and 25th) at Hook Farm and despite some inclement weather and water retention on nearby pitches it was an enjoyable and relaxing break.

The facilities were good, clean and to an acceptable standard. The only blemish was the lack of hot water in the showers. However, the owners did explain that during busy periods when demand was at its greatest, then this put considerable pressure on hot water supplies.

The shop was slightly overpriced but pretty well stocked. The local pub (Talbot Arms) was welcoming and friendly and very reasonably priced, particularly soft drinks e.G. Lemonade and a packet of peanuts.

The highlight was the walk between Uplyme and Lyme Regis which consisted of rows of pretty cottages with charm and character and a walk through woods, fields and idyllic countryside. Local attractions - Lyme Regis, Charmouth (fossil hunting), Branscombe Bay, Seaton (The Terrace Arts Cafe - vegetarian/vegan), Sidmouth and Ladram Bay.

Overall the campsite was unpretentious, unassuming and there was no noise pollution and the patrons were very well behaved and polite and friendly. We would recommend this campsite to anyone planning on staying in this location.
