09 July 2004 I've just returned from a very pleasent stay @ Hook Farm. The owners I found very helpful. The toilet blocks were very clean, but I found it wise to take toilet paper just in case.. The walk into Lyme Regis is something not to be missed. My only criticism would be the rocky ground, some of the rocks are very sharp & can cut through your ground sheet so beware. Would I visit again? Yes but will take an extra ground sheet to prevent damage to the built in ground sheet in the tent. If you've not tried this site, it's well worth a visit.

April 2004 We have just returned from a relaxing and peaceful stay at Hook Farm. The Proprietors were friendly and very helpful. You can order Pan au chocolates, coissants and fresh bread for breakfast each day, which is freshly delivered from the local bakery. The shower blocks are clean with plenty of hot water. I have to recommend the riverside walk into Lyme Regis, mentioned by a previous reviewer. Its a beautiful stroll. We saw deer, rabbits, fish, horses, a watermill and plenty of ducks on the way. As you approach Lyme many of the houses and cottages have little bridges over the river (A large stream to be precise) giving access to their properties. It really is worth the effort, and at £5 a day to park in the town, its easier on your wallet aswell. We will definitely return to Hook Farm when we next visit the area. Highly recommended.

Easter 2004 We went to this site based on the reviews on here, and we weren't disappointed. It is a clean and tidy site with really good amenities. The toilet and shower blocks are new (one is still being built!) and kept spotlessly clean. The dog-walking area was a godsend - we were able to let our old pooch off his lead for a while.
If I had a criticism it would be that the arrangement of the pitches left very little room for the kids to play ball games without endangering other peoples cars and tents. When they enquired at reception as to where they could play cricket or football, they were directed to the park down the road!! But all in all, we enjoyed our stay at this site, and the weather was good to us!!

August 2003 Our family happened across this site whilst backpacking along the splendid Heritage Coastline. After a very hot day walking with all our kit, we could not have been made any more welcome by the site owners when we turned up. Although we were lucky to get in on the Bank Holiday, booking ahead is well recommended to guarantee a pitch on this very beautiful site, ideally located for Lyme Regis town (a 30 min walk or 5 in a car/taxi). What impressed us was the attention to detail on the site; fantastic ablutions facilities, flat pitches, power hook ups, own water source, childrens play area, shop/office and the terraced landscape giving breathtaking views across the valley. Catering for all sizes of tents and caravans, even groups (lots of Diving parties when we were there) added to the magic at night when all the camp lights were on through the site and it took on a look of 'Hobbiton'. We will be back and we also plan to try the B&B over a weekend as the Victorian Farm House looks very homely. Don't forget to order your freash breakfast pastries for the next day when you arrive - they are so good they go so quick!

September 2003 The previous comments given about this site are good, it is very relaxing and the facilities are adequate.
We also found that where we pitched the ground was very hard and bent quite a few pegs, also if you are camping here early or late season don't forget a torch as it gets very dark, and the toilet block lights are on a timer!!

June 2003 We arrived in early June before the high season and had the place almost to ourselves for much of the time, just as I like it. It's very selfish I know but the peace and quiet was amazing, so too were the views we woke up to each morning and the site owners could not be more helpful. Even the weather treated us kindly and we hope to be back soon.

12th July 2003 We have just returned from a short holiday, staying in one of the static caravans available for hire at Hook Farm. The weather was glorious, our hosts were very helpful and friendly and the site provided us with amazing views and an excellent base from which to explore Lyme Regis and local coastal towns and villages. The owners were happy to show us around the site, which accepts touring caravans, campervans and tents. We wanted a site within walking distance of Lyme Regis (about 35 mins) and this fitted the bill perfectly. As vegetarians we were delighted that the local baker delivered croissants daily to the site's shop and that these were suitable for vegans! The local restaurants and pubs provided good vegetarian fare and we were very well catered for - which was an added bonus. We enjoyed our holiday and will definitely return.

July 2003 At the risk of sounding repetitive, let me assure you that the proprietors are still as friendly, helpful and welcoming! The new toilet/shower block is superb-if not completely finished-and kept beautifully clean. The area is so calming and picturesque. There is a lovely view across the valley, as the site slopes down one side. There are several levelled off areas, creating a terraced effect. The ground where we were pitched was quite rocky and some of our pegs went in almost horizontally! Our dog had great fun leaping through the long grass of the old orchard, which has been designated as an exercise area. There was even a dog bin by the gate! How sensible is that? BBQ's are allowed-10in off ground. We would definitely visit again.

August 2002 A basic site, but clean. As already stated by other reviewers, the couple who run the site are very helpful and friendly - at one point I thought they were going to help us pitch our tent in the wind and the rain (but it turned out they weren't THAT helpful - lol!) Apart from showers, there are wash up facilities, also washing machine and tumble drier. Lovely area and superb scenery. We've been twice and will definately go again.

August 2002 As the previous reviewer stated, the proprietors of this site could not be more helpful if they had tried. The day we arrived had been a particularly difficult one but the proprietors went out of their way to make life a little easier and welcome us to their beautiful site. The facilities were fairly basic but clean and in working order; I understand these will be upgraded, hopefully for next season. The camp is quiet and restful but friendly and easygoing - plenty of families and young groups providing vibrancy. The surrounding area is truly beautiful and I cannot wait to return as soon as possible.
