Just spent bank holiday weekend at Hook Farm; tents were quite packed together but then it was the busiest weekend of the year! They have 2 shower / toilet blocks; the toilet facilities are fine but only 5 showers (and only 4 of them working) for the ladies for a site this size is a problem, the queues were fairly long by about 8.30am. Small shop on site which sells the essentials and the nearest pub is about 5 minutes walk away. If you are a serious camper and like the freedom of the outdoors then this site is definitely not for you! Rules, rules and more rules! We were told to turn our radio (solar powered so not really that powerful!) down at 9pm, even though the rules state quiet after 11pm, although it seemed perfectly acceptable to have children running around screaming at the top of their voices at 6.30am! There is a lovely walk along the river into Lyme Regis (approx 40 mins) and the town itself it lovely; all in all a good weekend but I won't be visiting Hook Farm again.

Had a family get together at site, 3 pitches side by side, could have got 3 more on. Ideal size for kids. Shop limited but owners and staff are great really helpful and friendly. This site is definitely up and coming, chuck a better stocked shop and maybe a games room or small clubhouse it would make ideal touring site. Will definitely stay again

Love this site. Rural yet walkable into Lyme Regis - especially good following riverside walk into town. Great views from top field across the valley. Shop basic but redeemed by croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast. Relaxed but quiet atmosphere on site. If you have children, be aware that play area is very small. However, play area in village of Uplyme at bottom of hill is fine. Extremely helpful owners. Pub in walking distance if you need one.

We stayed for 3 nights on two pitches. The pitch was a good size and level despite being on a hilly site as it has been very well terraced and landscaped. The ground is quite hard and rocky in places, you might want to bring a few heavy duty pegs just in case. We backed on to small brook / stream, but there is a large bank and it proved no danger for our children ( 3 and 7).
The toilet blocks are excellent, always clean and never too busy. A family room would be a nice touch as some sites have though.
There is a small shop with the essentials and a small children's play area. Otherwise its a nice simple site - just the way we like it.
The area is lovely, really enjoyed looking for fossils at nearby Charmouth and Lyme Regis is a nice seaside town.
We would definitely recommend this well run quiet site and will put it in our books if we visit the area again.

Booked by phone as their email system was struggling. Had a large pitch and was impressed by the new toilet block which had excellent facilities. The campsite is superb and would suit a no-frills camper. It is quiet and peaceful despite being based on a large site. Went mackerel fishing off a boat in Lyme (adults £8, kids £5) and cooked the delicious catch on the BBQ - fantastic fun and food!

Stayed in the top field this time (4th visit) and pleased with the hedging work undertaken by owner. Wider views and bigger vista down the Uplyme valley. Hot showers (20p for 5 Min's) worked every time and were marvellous. Clean loos. Noticed grass is more established now on levelled pitches and thickening up. Still a bit stony in places so bring extra pegs and go in more shallow! New office under construction on way in so the site is under constant development to make things better and does not get in the way of your day to day activities. Impressed with the clear notice of conduct given on arrival with an 11pm quiet policy - nice to see sites setting standards and imposing them! Site owners as ever very friendly and willing to help.

A 5 day visit with 2 families. The site was absolutely great even tho it was full over the bank holiday weekend. Our pitch was large( the "army pitch!", with privacy. There is a lovely riverside walk down into Lyme, that avoids the main road, through woods and wild garlic! The owners, Adrian and Larraine, and the warden were very polite and helpful at all times. top marks there!. Any problems were sorted immediately. Although the shop has limited stock, the foundations are being dug for the new shop and reception block. There is a village shop 5 minutes walk away as well. Initially we were concerned at the number of showers and cubicles in the loos, but over the entire week, we never ran out of hot water or had to queue. (20p for us blokes was enough for a shower, the ladies were using 40p though!). The toilet blocks were cleaned every day and any mess that was made by inconsiderate campers was cleared immediately when reported. Well done! We'll definitely be back to this site.

Nice site, my main niggle was the grass being uncut and very weedy, on dewy mornings and after rain the longish grass was a nuisance when using a tent and tying the dog up outside, when we stayed last year we had the same problem with the shop, and the showers were sometimes too hot, less time and less money for them would be an improvement. we are used to using club sites and found the cost quite high for few facilities, but enjoyed our week.
