We visited the site over a very wet half term week. The site is terraced and coped very well with a huge amount of rain and wind.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming which created a lovely atmosphere. Great for kids, there was a small climbing frame, the site felt very safe and secure.
Beautiful peaceful location, great views and a lovely walk along the river to Lyme Regis.
Facilities and shop were well equipped. Lovely hot showers, 50p for 5 minutes which meant people were in and out pretty quickly.
Can't wait to go back!

Great campsite tucked away at the top of a VERY steep lane.
The Staff very helpful and polite.
Very quiet at night,no rowdiness from other campers.
Washing and shower block was heated and very clean.
The Talbot Arms pub at the bottom of the hill was perfect for a home cooked meal and a pint.
If camping in the area again I would definitely use Hook Farm.

We stayed here for a weekend and was lucky that the weather was very nice.
Campsite was easy to find and a very friendly and helpful welcome.
Local pub was few mins walk which is always good.
Nice little shop which was open almost all day while we were there.
Shower blocks were clean and tidy and 20p for just over 5 mins with lots of hot water.
Campsite was nice and quiet in the evenings.
Nice pitches with plenty of space around each one.
Lyme regis is well worth a visit.
Would definitely go back again

We camped at the site on May bank holiday, and had a fantastic time. The site was full, however the pitches are well spaced. The shop was very good, the toilet block although not many showers was clean and just the job.
The owner was very friendly and helpful, and maintained the site to a high level.
There was a local pub 5mins walk away which is always good, and there was a beautiful 40mins walk to Lyme regis from the site.
Lyme regis itself was a typical small fishing town, which is always nice to visit (and again had some great pubs with good beer and food). We went biking and walking in the area, and would recommend this camp site and the area to anyone thinking of a short or long term break.
We will definatley visit the campsite again, as it has everything you can want for an enjoyable camping holiday.

Chose this campsite as it was very close to the Harbour of Lyme bay, about 2 mile away. The campsite itself is very welcoming. It's terraced pitches make you feel you have your very own part of Dorset overlooking the gorgeous views. The owner, Adrian, is very helpful, both when pre booking and whilst there. Facilities are new and always kept clean. Even though the site was full when I visited, there was never a queue for a wash or shower. Lovely place to visit and would suit both tourers or campers. Will definitely re-visit.

Have just come back from Hook Farm. We were last at the site about 2 years ago before the new shop was built. What a great site. Though quite full, with all of us that braved the predicted bad weather, the pitches are set out in small terraces and with a nice selection of trees and shrubs as boundaries that make it feel private. Great welcome from the folks that run the site, well kept grounds, clean shower block and a great location. I'd recommend the walk into Lyme Regis over the fields by the old mill. It's about 30mins (or more with kids) and takes you into town past some good fish and chip shops for supper on the seafront. Overall a sound site and one to recommend without reservation.

Visited this site for the weekend of the May bank hol for our very first family camping trip. We chose Hook Farm due to the reviews on this site and it was really great. Even though all available pitches were booked, the site did not feel crowded & short wait for shower (5mins) at peak time but never a queue for a loo!
Very helpful & friendly owner & warden as well as a good shop.
Small play area for children & very considerate fellow campers so you could get a good night sleep once you had watched the sun go down!
It really helped that the (20p) showers also had an area to get dressed so you can take the children in as well without a squash.
Some great views from the higher pitches & lots to do in the area - don't miss the Donkey Sanctuary (nr Sidmouth)!

We've just come back from an amazing few days away. Stayed at Hook Farm campsite. What a view!We had a pitch in the top field, which was adults only. This was slightly sloped and was fun in the mornings trying to climb out of your sleeping bag without falling over, and the ground was slightly rocky once you get 2inches in with your pegs but that was the worse that I could say about this site. As a bank hioliday it was busy but it still felt peaceful, and the pitches are so large that you don't feel that close to everyone else. The view from this site is fantastic and the sunsets over the valley are worth every penny. Lyme Regis itself is as always a great place to visit, there is loads to do , fantastic coast, great pubs (recommend the Royal Standard in Lyme Regis), beautiful hilly countryside walks, and the loudest bird song I've heard anywhere for years. The showers are very hot, but do the job and 20p is more than worth it for a fresh start to the day. BBQ's are allowed and this made the colder evenings a bit warmer, there's a great shop in Axeminster Complete Meats and there's also the Riverside Cottage store even thought his is a bit more expensive the meat there is brilliant. I'd also recommend a trip to Lyme Bay Cider farm, Charmouth for a Jurassic coast fossil hunting expedition and great kite flying, Seatown for a perfect pub lunch, and Beer for a lovely coastal village. We loved it so much here that we're booking again for later in the year and will be going back to Hook farm for many years.

Very helpful campsite 'Ranger' especially to us as Motorhome 1st time outers. Learned far more about the van from him than from the dealers who sold it to us!
Facilities fine: showers hot but gents hand-drier cold. Nice views and lovely walk to Lyme Regis. Local pub no good as do not accept mans best friend.

We all (4) went over easter this year and what a great time we had. The camp site had some of the best views. There is a small play area for the chidren and the people are realy nice and helpful. The walks from here are realy good. Lyme regis is a nice place.
It was quite cold over the easter weekend and the shower block was very clean, but had no heating, which meant the floor was very cold under foot & you needed to get dry / dressed quickly.
All in all we all had a great time and would go again.
