Chose this site because of the excellent reviews and its' proximity to Monkey World - our main reason for visiting Dorset.
Firstly the downsides:
1. Our pitch was under a low hanging cedar tree and so although in theory the pitch was enormous, practically we had to pitch with our porch within a yard of the downhill slope (the track from the woods, past the playground, to the main avenue).
2. Another caravanner blew out the main trip for our electric hook-up, and we had to wait for the site manager /owner to come and reset it. Unfortunately, nobody told him until 7am the following morning! I learned that lesson the hard way.
3. Hot water seemed to be in short supply in the showers. I'm putting this down to my being too late to the shower block, rather than anything else, as nobody else seems to have suffered my problem!
The upsides:
None of the above really mattered because this is a very clean site, excellent playground, friendly and very helpful staff, a beautiful site all round.
Dorset was very beautiful and it's a drive I really enjoyed to get to the park. The Picnic Bench idea is inspired, really! Pitch your tent, grab a picnic bench, al-fresco dining. Great idea.
The Kids loved the playground, although the football pitch being ever-so-slightly sloping made it fun!
The site is in a slight valley, so pitches near the main thoroughfare tend to be slightly nearer level. Those in the Woodlands, experiencing 'Woodland' camping should prepare themselves for being on a slope, a short walk from the facilities, and surrounded on all sides by 'nature' - the dawn chorus is one of the loudest I've ever heard, and the Owls made the kids sit-up and listen!
I loved the Country Walks: I did the Yellow one, and wish I'd done one each of the 3 days we were there. The woods were lovely, and the wildlife! I nearly stood on a big fat Pheasant, whilst trying to photograph a young family of deer that I stumbled across! The variety of woodland life was fabulous!
Monkey World was our main focus, which exceeded even my high expectations - a must visit! Being only a 20 minute drive was helpful too.
Really loved this site, and if I ever manage to persuade the wife and kids that we need to revisit Dorset, then I would not hesitate to book in here again.
A really good site, really good value, and wonderful location being a short (under 30 minutes) drive to most places in Dorset.

We stayed at the inside park for 4 nights in April, we chose this site based on reviews on uk campsite and I have to say I was very impressed!
We chose a pitch before we arrived and it was allocated to us - it was a large pitch and more than big enough for our 7x3 tent and front canopy! The site even provides a picnic bench for each pitch - which was a godsend for eating outside, cooking on, using as kitchen area etc. (saved us lugging our table in and out of tent)
The pitch we were on was level but some pitches are slightly sloping. We were under a large tree which would have provided us with great shelter had it rained (luckily we were blessed with gorgeous weather)
The site was very peaceful at night.
The play area is absolutely fantastic, its the best playground I have ever seen on a campsite. In fact I would go so far as to say it rivalled the park back home! Its absolutely huge and fabulous if you have children. We were able to let our daughter go to the play area alone as we could see her at all times. The pitch we were on was close enough so we could see our daughter but not too close that you got noise from it.
The facilities were clean and well maintained. It was a little walk from where we were pitched but this didn't bother us as we have a portable loo so only really used facilities to shower.
The showers are hot and clean. There is a mop bucket provided to clean after yourself - which most people were doing.
The site is dog friendly - not that we have one but plenty of people did. There are 3 woodland walks you can do (we never got round to it) but they looked lovely.
The reception/shop was well stocked and even sold some camping accessories.
There is a games room with table tennis and pool table.
Lots of sinks for washing up - even provided with a step so daughter could reach up and help me!
Gorgeous site, lovely friendly staff, child friendly, dog friendly & in a great area, well positioned for exploring the surrounding areas. There is a tesco and morrisons nearby (within 5 mins drive)
We visited Paultons park (40 mins away) adventure wonderland and Bournemouth whilst staying here.
If there was 1 thing I would add to this site it would be another chemical toilet point as it is located by reception - not near to all pitches. (not really a big issue and they have prob done it this way so there is no smell for campers)
I will definitely return to this site and recommend to anyone!

This was our second visit to the inside park this year and we are about to book up for the first of our visits for next year. We loved the park and the peace of the place, we went out of the school holidays and so it was very quite during the week with only adults about. The facilities were excellent and I kept discovering something new to please me like a light over the mirror in the washrooms to put your makeup on, the hairdryer on the wall, the cctv to watch the swallows nesting, it was the little things that made all the difference to me.
I have also fallen in love with the area and we hope to move here eventually, especially Poole harbour which offered a range of boat trips which my husband and I worked our way through during the week. There is even a ferry to Jersey which was only £25 each as foot passengers and was the highlight of the holiday.
Blandford is a lovely town and we found a very nice pub(hotel) which served non residents also in Sturminster Newton there was a very nice pub which did excellent food and was very quite. A great holiday and we can't wait to get back.

We are a family of 2 adults, 3 children and a dog, we have a large tunnel tent with a side porch which all fit comfortably on the pitch with space for a picnic table. That said the pitches did seem quite close together. Our pitch was very level but the ones nearer the forest area were quite sloped.
As mentioned previously there doesn't seem to be any limits on gazebos etc and there were some interesting looking pitches. There also seemed to be the endless windbreak wars seen so often where each day people need to adjust the windbreaks to gain that extra few inches on the pitch.
The kids loved the playground and spent hours each day playing there. The forest area is very big and our dog had a wonderful time investigating it(although we got lost on more than a couple of occasions!).
The toilet building is good, there are plenty of showers/toilets and private wash cubicles. There are 2 sides to these which are interconnected but are cleaned 1 at a time so there are always the full range of facilities available. On the whole they were very clean (in fairness any problems were caused by parents not supervising their kids in the block and getting them to mop the floor when finished showering or remember to flush toilets etc. And not from any lack of effort on the site's part. They were cleaned several times a day).
My only complaint is that a number of pitches are a long way away from the block which makes for a long middle of the night walk, a second small block would be a massive bonus but hey you can't have everything!
Days out in the area - we went to Moors Valley twice, once to do Go Ape and another to do the play trail etc both days were enjoyed by all. We spent a day in Poole crab fishing and exploring (crab lines, buckets and bait available on the sea front at reasonable prices.)
The children also had a look around the lifeboat museum there which they enjoyed. We did other beach days, we planned to go to Corfe castle but it looked very busy so we decided to give it a miss but it looked nice and we may return to do it another time.
All in all a good site in a good location. We would definitely consider returning.

We have just spent a most relaxing five days at this wonderful site.
I can only echo the positive reviews already posted.
This is one of the most attractive sites we have visited. The parkland setting is just beautiful.
The site was full when we visited, but the pitch sizes are so generous it didn't feel at all crowded. There are picnic benches dotted around the site for campers to use.
The facilities are clean and plentiful: 6 showers in the Ladies plus sink cubicles, 8 washing up sinks and a laundry room with sinks, washing machine and dryer. They are all housed in one building which is quite a walk from some of the pitches. The shop is well stocked although fresh bread daily would be a nice touch. There is a Thai take away on site which also does breakfasts and a fish and chip van visits twice a week.
There are recycling bins for bottles and cans but not for paper. There is also a waste water point and chemical toilet disposal point.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They give you a map of 3 different walks around the site which are of varying degrees of distance. We did the 'White' walk which made a very pleasant stroll before dinner. We also walked into Blandford (about 2.5 miles) and were given a map of an off road route to follow. However the site is not really in walking distance of any pubs or restaurants if you don't want to cook or fancy a quick pint!
The site is well placed for exploring Dorset and we also visited the Steam Fair which we would thoroughly recommend.
This is a lovely place to stay and we shall definitely return.

We are just back from this site having spent the last 10 days of August there. Following on from all the review I had read here I had very high expectations for the site and was a little disappointed.
We (along with friends) stayed on pitch 69 and 70 in the woods. The pitches were generally fine but uneven (as you would expect with tree roots etc) and on a slight slope. It also felt a little cramped in the woods with quite a few tents in the area. It may be because we were backing on to the main path to the facilities but the site felt quite noisy at times. That said the facilities themselves were well maintained and cleaned regularly, the kids enjoyed the play park and the cycle / walking routes from the site were good fun and accessible for the kids.
Plenty to do in the surrounding area and we will definitely be back in Dorset but may not come back to this site (partly because we don't like to go anywhere twice!)

Had a lovely - if rather wet - time at this site! Though it rained most days the site wasn't boggy and the trees surrounding the site seemed to protect us from most of the wind. Our pitch was on a gentle slope but not enough to be a problem. There always seemed to be someone cleaning the toilets- the only mess was due to inconsiderate campers leaving bits of paper on the floor or not wiping their feet as instructed!
The best bits were 1)the size of pitch. We have an enormous tent but had loads of space. 2)The play park and ball area - our 11 and 13 year old thoroughly enjoyed it!
We definitely plan to return.

We chose this site because of the fantastic reviews it had been given, and I have to say we were not disappointed!
Our pitch was in a lovely, level and secluded location, surrounded by the woodland, which our kids had a fantastic time den-building and playing in.
It was a short stroll through the woodland to visit the toilet/shower block or shop. The showers were always lovely and hot, but did get a little busy after teatime. We solved that by going over in the early morning! It being August, the site was very busy but the toilet/shower block was always clean.
The shop sold handy basics, but there was a good Tesco nearby in Blandford Forum.
A couple of nights a week, the site was visited by a mobile fish and chip shop, which was extremely popular, and very tasty!
The park on the site is one of the best we have seen, and our kids loved it.
It was our family's first visit to Dorset and there is so much to see and do.
Our favourite days out were to Monkey World (so good we went twice!); Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door; Swanage (which is a gorgeous, old-fashioned seaside); Beaulieu and the National Motor Museum and the Moors Valley Country Park which has a great playtrail area for the children as well as the amazing 'GO APE' which we spent a brilliant afternoon scaring ourselves silly and being very daring on!
We can also recommend going out for a meal at the wonderful 'Worlds End', which was suggested to us by the guy in the shop, and was delicious!
We had a great family holiday and were really lucky with the weather.

This was our first ever tent holiday and to say we were nervous would be an understatement.
Inside Park was recommended to us on this site and we were hopeful it would be ok, it greatly exceeded our expectations.
From the friendly welcome we received on arrival, showing us where our pitch was, to the layout of the park, everything was 1st rate.
As it was the middle of summer the park was busy but did not feel it, the size of the pitches made it feel very comfortable.
The toilet block was very clean and although the men didn't have to queue, the ladies had to queue for a shower sometimes but it wasn't too long.
The kids played in the park all day and it was a great idea to only open the playground from 9 til 9, this gave the park a quieter period after 9.
Blandford is a great small market town with a couple of supermarkets for all your needs and being not far from Poole or Wymouth there was plenty to do locally.
We couldn't fault this place and we have already booked again next year.

We booked this site some time ago due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews on this forum. We weren't disappointed!
The pitches are generously sized and ours (No. 63) was nicely situated away from the main field in amongst the trees. Only drawback of this was that we didn't always get what little sun there was in our time there, so if you're a real sun lover you may be better off on the main field. All pitches get free use of a wooden picnic table, which was very handy (no carrying of our table in and out of the tent needed).
The children's play and football area was great. Our kids spent all their time there when we were on-site.
The people working there were unfailingly polite and helpful; our electric hook up failed and they told us about their facility to hire a light with two sockets for a very reasonable £1 per night. Saved us having to find a camping shop to purchase another EHU.
The toilet/shower/washing up facilities were normally spotless (despite us having a lot of rain in our week there) and seemed to be cleaned 4-5 times a day. There was always plenty of hot water and we only had to wait for a shower once in the week we were there.
The location is good. Plenty of pretty villages within 15 minutes drive with pubs serving good food and the beaches of Poole, Swanage etc are only about half an hours drive or less away. We also visited the Tank Museum at Bovington which was great.
Not the cheapest site, but worth every penny in our opinion!
